There are several items that play a part in the success of removing buildup under the toenail. One is the foot soak that goes in the warm foot bath to soften the skin and serves as an antimicrobial, two is the cuticle remover that dissolves the compacted buildup and three is having the right tools to get the job done without hurting yourself.
As soon as I trim the nail I can see dark areas on each side of the nail. This is an indication there is foreign material that should not be there and needs to come out. Today you're going to see two of my new tools this one is the toenail lifter used to clean under the free edge of the nail and the ingrown toenail rasp. The ingrown toenail rasp is a little more serious than the ingrown sidewall cleaner, the sidewall cleaner has the little scoop to pull out loose skin but the rasp has a serrated flat surface on one end to file hard to reach rough areas on the nail and a serrated curved end to help pull our stubborn buildup. I love to hear from my viewers how satifying they find the impacted toenail removals.

So today I had a big toe nail hurting. I soaked it in some warm water and then pulled out that hard dead skin around the side. Pain gone. Thanks so much for teaching me that. 💕💕💕💕💕

I am a nurse and a sweet little old lady came to ER the other day and I had to trim her nails. I used you technique and wished I had the cuticle tool and cuticle treatment . She asked how often she needs to come in for me to trim her nails. I laughed and said. I don’t take appointment. I just care for my patients. Now I’m the praying nail nurse

I'm a huge fan! I was a nurse many years ago and when my kids (finally!!) left home, I decided to retrain as a nail tech. Best decision I ever made! I own a mobile full service nail salon near Toronto Canada and provide a much needed service to clients over the age of 65 in the comfort of their own homes and care facilities. I've learned soooo much from your videos. I binge watch regularly. My husband even watches with me and often exclaims," That's what you do??!!" Lol Yep, and I love it!!

夏美여름 Hello! I am also a manicurist! I love watching SUPER seasoned professionals for techniques, but this is a simple question I’d love to answer! An ingrown toe is when your toe naturally grows at an angle that pushes and cuts into your skin, causing irritation, blisters, and even bleeding from open wounds! BUT an impacted toe is when you toenail catches so much debris from clothing lint, dead skin, and everyday pollution/dirt that it builds up pressure and causes serious discomfort! Both techniques, however, can be corrected with proper trimming and cleansing the toe nail, yet professionally help is preferred since another trained person can be face to face with your issue! For clarification sake, an ingrown toe can ALSO be impacted! 😭

I appreciate your views on gloves soooo much. I’m a food safety specialist and so many people think gloves are some magic antimicrobial substitute for Handwashing!! So many people do things with gloves they would never do with bare hands. Thank you for educating people with intelligence and standing up for yourself in the face of all these ignorant comments from young kids who are so judgmental! I’m just now starting to parent a teenager and let me tell you it’s a special kind of hell trying to get them to think outside of their own heads! THANK YOU!

I love your videos so much! You’re so sweet to every client. The last time I got a manicure I got yelled at. I tend to make my hand stiff without even realizing it and instead of just asking me to relax my hand, the nail tech said “Are you trying to piss me off?” I was so upset and shocked and never went back. That was two years ago. Knowing how to preform a service is great but knowing how to treat a customer is equally as important! Hopefully soon I can save my money and buy one of your nail kits!

If there were to be a lineup of feet I would be able to recognize Mr. Meticulous's toes and most of your clients before my own husbands 😂 lol - I have been watching your videos for a year and a half ( since pandemic started) as my nightly relaxing routine- you are so nice to your clients and such a good person to share your knowledge to help others - thank you!

I have never had that much attention to detail for cleaning under my nails when getting a pedicure. This is setting a standard of what to expect.

It should be standard to remove debris from under the nail. Maybe you are going to a salon where they aren’t concerned about client retention?

OMG I had no idea that you could train a nail to grow out to its proper shape with an acrylic patch. Mind blown. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I have so much to learn.

Why is it that nail salons now don’t really clean your toenails nor do they hardly pushback cuticles. It’s all about cutting cuticles. I don’t go but maybe once every year because I don’t see the industry as being well regulated and I don’t want to get a horrible fungus. I never use to have dead skin around my toes until I went to a nail salon the first time and they cut my cuticles. If I do go I have to tell them do not cut my cuticles. Only trim if I have skin torn etc. I think they cut them so they can put nail polish on easier plus it takes less time they pushing and cleaning so they can get the next person in. What do you think? You are obviously a professional and know your stuff.

I always love your videos and this was no exception! I like this new format, with you explaining technique to a nail tech in training--I love how much effort you put into your videos, including bringing in new elements like this. It might not work as well with clients where you're having a deep personal conversation, but in this one with your husband it worked great!

Love your videos, definitely changed how I do my nails. I used to just cut down the side of my big nail, not any more! I bought the proper tools, actually had a few of the tools already but now I know how to use them properly and that cuticle remover is amazing. I just need to get 5mm nail nippers then I can stop using my nail clippers. Thank you so much for sharing your talent 💕💕💕
