Glad you like it! Take all the ideas you'd like 😃 but unfortunately I sold the a few months back and bought a bow rider boat with an inboard. Get more people onboard more comfortably. Truth was that I wasn't going boating alone 90% of the time.
Badass looking setup! I have a Saturn SD 420 Triton, just like yours but smaller and I love it. I took the wife and kids in it around the intercostal here in Miami a d they really enjoyed it.
Dam bro, you are meticulous, and we love it!! You thought of Everything we could use, and more. I live Downtown San Diego, and want a boat, but where to store it is my prob!!! Your video gave me all the ideas I need to start. Thank you!!!!
@@pandaoverboard A lot of tillers can be converted either by buying a kit which was available for the outboard that I had. Or buying it already set up with controls. I searched a while for it. No video or instructions really available, apologies.
@@pandaoverboard I actually got the outboard with the throttle control cables and remote control box from someone that had it setup that way. I added the console and a new steering cable, etc.
Awesome boat and set up... just saw you posted a new video of the fb300... sorry comments turned off. Was wondering if you could post a video of installing seats. Really interested in seeing bolts used and how they look in floorboards. Even if it just showing the floorboards itself would be helpful. Thanks and congrats on new boat. I plan on getting 13ft of same model
I use "L" brackets with m8 weld nuts. The weld nuts go through the bottom of the floor (I drilled holes) and they are flush when pushed into the floor from the bottom. Then I use M7 screws through the top, the "L" bracket is screwed into the wood of the seat box and the bottom of the "L" bracket is secured to the floor with the m8 screw which taps into the weld nut. Solid. Weld nuts are like these but 8mm www.zoro.com/midwest-fastener-corp-8-32-x-14-coarse-thread-slab-weld-nuts-20pk-931381/i/G202529085/?gclid=CjwKCAjw-rOaBhA9EiwAUkLV4ljNzD_co5zKryLhg6P1MeC1CnL8Hip1Xe9SbOFg9vp4JJZRCEU1iBoCu48QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds.
FANTASTIC BUILD! can you do a quick video on the cable hookups for the gear shift and throttle? Can't find a good video online.. your channel would blow up if you did one!
Unfortunately I no longer have the boat, I sold it a few months ago. But if you get a bigger name outboard like Merc, Yamaha, Suzuki there are kits available to convert from tiller to steering. There are some linkage connections in the outboard that would be updated to accept remote control.
Thank you so much for posting this! i bought the 15ft model last year and have been looking for a video where someone shows them using a steering wheel and gear lever for the outboard. I’m currently in the process of switching my tiller to remote so i can do this
I actually bought an actual fiberglass boat but I do miss the inflatable setup, plus it was way easier for me to launch on my own. But I do have the FB300 which is even smaller than yours lol and I just uploaded a vide about that build. That one was a limited build due to the smaller size but it works I have caught some nice fish with it! It's my interim bought while my fiberglass boat is in the shop having an oil leak repaired.
You are very talented, great job! I have a West Marine RIB 350 I would love to add similar seats just not sure on best practice to secure the seat boxes. Its a double floor design.
This setup is awesome...any plans to make videos about each part you made or do you plan to sell anything premade or the plans and step by step videos? So difficult to find really great products and your setup is so clean.
I really wish that I could do more, work, home, wife, kids, etc... I bought a lot of easily available items and of course custom made what I wanted a certain way. The boxes are just standard wood boards, water sealed and carpeted with outdoor carpet from Lowes and I used an air staple gun to secure it all on with stainless steel staples. All hardware is stainless steel.
Super clean looking. Now 2 years later, how'd this all work, are you still happy with it, or anything you wish you'd do differently? Looks like you have a new heavy duty boat now, did this one not work out well? Thanks for any insights.
I am sorry for missing these comments, thanks! This is the swim ladder that I had www.ebay.com/itm/183743506676?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
Great super build. I got the SD365 just built box for the seat and gas tank storage but I’m having trouble putting it on the aluminum floor. how did you install the 8mm weld nuts for the install?
Thanks. What do you mean how does it operate? It operates like any other boat rotary steering system. It has a rotary steering kit, teleflex steering cable and a steering wheel.
I used PVC glue made for these boats, followed the instructions and it worked like a charm. Scotty sells mounts that are for inflatable boats that have a bit of a curve to the base.
I am from the NW Austin area actually and I am always looking for new spot to take the boat to. Although I sold this boat and currently have this one that hasn't been in water yet almost ready ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-siwNNHr2x7Q.html
Hey man I love that set-up. I have something very similar with a MK 2 C zodiac future and I was wondering which ladder that is and a link if possible. It would really be awesome as because its always a hassle to get into it! Thanks man
No cap this is a damn good setup. One of the top five ive seen. Used to run a sea eagle smb128 or something like that, no longer made. But im digging the center console. Have you done any fishing on it?
Awesome build. I have a 16 foot saturn on a flatbed trailer i dont really like. Can you tell me about your trailer build or is there a video or some pictures of your trailer that i can reference?
Unfortunately I don't have a build video for the trailer only what gets shown in the video. I use 2 x 6 boards under each tube with a 2 x 4 on the sides of the tubes at a very slight angle, it cradles the tubes on each side.
Unfortunately I cannot. I no longer have this boat. The cables are just standard throttle remote cables for boats and the motor on this boat was a Mercury and it was a mercury throttle remote box. Although I bought this motor and remote box already rigged
Hey brother, Your sd470 has been an inspiration. I really appreciate your video! I bought an sd470 and I'm trying to bill it out now as well... I ask you a couple questions 1- could you please send me the information on your Bimini and where you bought it from and how did you anchor the bottoms? It's a little difficult to see on your video but it looks like you put it through the plastic area where the ropes are and then you have some piece of wood wrapped with Marine carpet over it to hook up to the attachment points for the Bimini 2- I was wondering if you can give me more information on how you built the arm from the console to the right side tube.. Thx bro

Thank you for responding! I’m seriously considering buying a Saturn hd430…..14’ and adding a steering wheel and throttle control with custom seat boxes Any thoughts on this model boat?
I’m thinking about getting this one does it hol up great amd is it welded seams as I was looking at the bris black to on amzon witch one do you think it better amd stronger can’t make up my mine are they the same black is not really a color I like can you let me know thanks
Hey man, I’m interested in purchasing one of these boats for my girlfriend and I to cruise around a local lake. We have 2 dogs that’s are 60 pounds each and I wanted to get your advice on what size boat/model you think would be best for us? We plan on using it just to cruise around and find good swimming spots. Thanks for your help!
I'd say the SD470, this same boat, trust me you'll like the space to move around in. Inflatable boats lose a lot of internal space due to the tube diameters, so go with a nice size from the start. Or maybe one size below the SD470
One other question on your 15hp, I'm getting ready to hook up the shift cable and throttle. Did you by chance take any pics on the connection points. I have the same engine and didn't find much help online for the 15hp. Thanks again
I figured it all out as I went along as I didn't buy the expensive hardware kit that is sold to convert to remote. I custom made my parts and if I had to I would suggest to others to either get the kit to properly rig their outboard as I cannot accept liability for how I rigged mine.
Really nice looking boat with all the customizations! It looks like this is a 15ft boat which is on the Harbor Freight trailer and in the garage. I have a 14 footer from Saturn that I am thinking of converting a Harbor Freight trailer. How did you extend the tongue out? Did you have to weld an iron bar? Thanks.
Thank you. And yes I bought a piece of steel stock bar from a metal supplier. The 4x8 trailer has a slot at the front to pass it through but you'll need to secure it at the end. I did weld it but you will also need to drill holes in that very thick metal.
@@IsmaelPR32 thanks for answering. I see that you sold the boat. And you mentioned in another video you have a real boat. What is the difference? And is the real boat a lot more work?
@@philos212 I sold the fiberglass boat after about a year. It was definitely a lot more work and use a lot more gas obviously because it was an actual heavy 18ft boat. But I just bought a Seamax 430T which I will be customizing just like my current FB 385.
@@IsmaelPR32 really good to know your perspective since you have owned both. I was thinking of getting a used fiberglass but was shying away because I read they’re a lot of work and also much more fuel. I think I’ll stick with my Saturn XD 430 for now. Hope you will post some of your mods as it helps us a lot. Thanks man.

Whatta nice setup! I'm thinking to set some seats to my Greatwhite VIB400, and it has same kind of aluminium floor. Those boxes seem to work really well, my question is that has there been any stress to the alu floor caused by the boxes and attaching them to the floor? I've also seen some aluminium frames to set on the floor where the seat could be attached...
I used an industrial adhesive like E6000. I have done it on 3 boats this way and I still haven't had one come loose. Then I use gorilla tape over them to keep any sharp edges off the PVC.
Is this boat heat welded amd does it have double layer on the bottom can you let me know I’m thinking thos or the Bris 15 ft one not sure witch one will last longer amd do better on the ocean can you let me know thanks has this one held up while you had it
Hi there. I don't recall if that model year was hear welded to be honest. This was over 5 years ago I think. The person that I sold it to was a kite surfing instructor and he used the boat almost every single day. I spoke to him a year ago maybe a little longer. He said the boat had been perfectly great for him. But he was starting to have issues with the transom
what are the negatives? I am looking at either the HD470 or the 18ft one with a 25hp on it. I figure it would be about 6k. Alternatively I can put that 6k towards something used. I want the steering wheel and I would like 3 rows of two seats each. Do you have any regrets?
I wouldn't say regrets, once you are moving fast and the boat is on plane it feels stable but man at times it sounds like it will snap in half from the metal floor boards creaking and bending. And it is light so it will jump around with waves a lot. But we fished from it, swam from it and it was great I love how easy it was for me to launch solo. And recover solo.
Would you say that the boat would be great for fishing like the in the surf and launching it and deflating it and re flatting it because I don't have much space. Also I was looking at the Scout inflatable boats and is questioned which one to get. Also I was wondering where you bought the boat
It's great for fishing, no question. I didn't want to bother with inflating and deflating since I kept it in my garage. But it is totally doable. To use scotty mounts you need the base to use for these boats www.amazon.com/Scotty-341-BK-Glue-Inflatable-Boats/dp/B004O0BOCA/ref=asc_df_B004O0BOCA/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312061152211&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17629784223212309206&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028249&hvtargid=pla-627272663992&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=62138615036&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312061152211&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17629784223212309206&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028249&hvtargid=pla-627272663992 and I bought the boat on Boats2Go they are actually the manufacturer.
Unfortunately I no longer have this particular boat. I am finishing custom work on the Heavy Duty FB385, which includes a layer of protection on the hull similar to Stryker Shield. You can see it here in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-siwNNHr2x7Q.html But I can tell that this boat was great! It was fast enough for it's size and I had a lot of fun with it.
This is something that I designed and 3D printing myself it's custom and I only made it for my own use I don't offer it due to concerns over safety if others were to use it.
It's not cheap but I got it from Europe. Here is a seller on eBay too www.ebay.com/itm/185836932603?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=cZgqFYSyQz-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=jeApmXa8SUm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I use "L" brackets with m8 weld nuts. The weld nuts go through the bottom of the floor (I drilled holes) and they are flush when pushed into the floor from the bottom. I went to Boat Connection sales and service at 71 S Military West Palm Beach Fl 33415 with my Saturn inflatable boat the same as yours, but they don't want to install a steering wheel to the engine, the reason is they don't want to be liable for any accident. 🙄☹🙁😭
That sounds about right. I have actually build and customize for different inflatable boats now. And I always have people asked me to do it for them and I always tell him that I don't want to take any chances with liability.
