OMG…if you’ve never listened to That’s Christmas To Me, don’t wait til Christmas!!! Just be prepared to curl up into a fetal position (with Slappy of course) and whimper…lol! In my opinion, one of their MOST underrated songs…should be a Christmas Classic…I know it is for me!!!

When Scott talks about Pentatonix singing Telephone, he isn't talking about the video you saw with the trio, he is actually talking about PTX because that's the song they did for their Sing-Off audition also, there's a video for Somebody that I Used to Know

The “Somebody that I used to Know” video was when they were just starting out and it was one of the videos (along with Evolution of Music) that went viral and got their name out there. Oh and I also got chills when Mitch started singing That’s Christmas to Me ☺️

There's a video of them singing Telephone at the Star Vista in Singapore, at the same concert where the AHA video that melted your brain was, and it's just as epic. It's a jet-lagged, red-bull-fueled Mitch encore. It's great. Also, I really think you would love checking out the PTXperience videos. IT's basically behind the scenes stuff from their tours and music videos and stuff and their personalities really shine like they do in this one :)

I love this one, all of them just casually being incredible like it's no big deal. Their game, interview and vlog type videos are my favorites because it really shows their personalities and quirks. Like Kevin being incredibly wise, Scott frequently being unable to remember lyrics, their passion for music, and a thousand other things that make me love them for way more then just their music. It's so cool that the subscribed viewer count is 50%, I've never heard another reactor say it's that high before! Just shows how awesome you are.

First time seeing this one - games are fun and PTX sure know how to have fun. You still have to react to PTXs cover of Seasons of Love and their Sesame Street appearances. That's Christmas to Me is an absolutely beautiful PTX original and the video is wonderful - won't say a word about it - no spoilers - but you have to react to that - no need to wait until December. Mitch singing those lines just brings it all back!! Scott's last song that you did not get was from the musical Chicago - swept the Oscars one year - with Catherine Zita Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere! If I remember correctly "Telephone" is the song that Pentatonix submitted to the Sign-Off in order to be chosen.

I believe Pentatonix used Telephone as their audition song for the Sing Off. There should be a video of it somewhere. Also, Somebody That I Use To Know is a great early early cover.

Love the message about the universality of music. There's a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley that opens with the lines: "Music, when soft voices die, Vibrates in the memory--" I associate music so much with different times of my life. It's a comfort. Great reaction, as usual!

The first time the 5 of them were in the same room together was the day before the audition for the Sing Off. Since they already had Telephone arranged for the vocals they added the bass and beatboxing to that.

If you want to hear them talking, there are lots of Spree casts where the answer questions from several years ago. Also the used to do lots of interviews.

Sorry for three comments but I do know that Ben Bram, the 6th member of ptx, whom you will meet in the recording of evergreen short film, was approached in a bar by Gotye and said that he loved their arrangement of "Somebody that I used to know".

They auditioned for the Sing Off with Telephone, and the 5 didn’t have much time to practice before the audition.

As others have said, PTX sang Telephone when they auditioned for the Sing-Off. Honestly probably a big part of why they did that is because they already had done a lot of the arrangement of it as the trio and the group only met together in person for the first time the day before auditioning. I would give anything and maybe I'll make it my Patreon request but there is another thing they did like this that was shower singing (EDIT: I just went to look for it and it isn't up anymore on you tube.) and they were all fawning over Mitch and they all said they would pay any price for a ticket for a shower concert from Mitch but Kirstie was the ring leader. In case you haven't seen it yet there are several interviews where Kirstin and Scott say they almost stop singing when Mitch hits a high note like in telephone...they have to come back in as soon as that note is done and they have said sometimes they have almost missed it.
