Elves have a knack for telepathy and when Sauron put on the One Ring, the bearers of the three Elven Rings could sense his mind reaching for them. In actuality, all 16 of the original Rings were intended for the Elves. But Sauron came to realize that the Elves would have sensed the trap. So he tried with the Dwarves and Men instead. The Dwarves just got greedy but didn't obey Sauron (too stubborn). The Men who accepted the nine Rings he gave them ended up as Nazgul.
didnt the dwarf lords just put the rings aside and saw them as mear trinkets so they never got twisted forcing sauron to retrive 4 of the rings later on. i mean Sauron must have felt disrespected knowing the dwarfs just saw hes present as mear jewlery

They amassed great wealth. But it attracted dragons who coveted that wealth. That's not all of the Seven survived some were literally destroyed in dragon fire.

That's why he couldn't prevent the Elven ringbearers from taking their Rings off when he put on the One Ring, and why he lost any influence he had over the Elven Rings when Isildur cut the One Ring from his finger. Without it, he couldn't stop the Elves from using their Rings, nor could he manipulate them or turn them into Nazgul.
In fact, both Vilya and Narya were given to Gil-Galad at first. He gave Narya to Cirdan because Cirdan was his second-in-command during the Last Alliance. Elrond was given Vilya before or during the siege of Barad-Dur because GG forsaw his own downfall.
They could not wear them and use them until after the last alliances victory. It seems more likely they were hidden and left at home than brought to battlefields.

@@00Tenrai00 Yes indeed but there was a certain weariness that time inflicted thats why they eventually all went to Aman by ships and also places like people are slowly worn down with time as in buildings crumble, trees wither , stones errode but with the rings they preserved their realms just as they are for as long as they wore them. Lothlorien for example was the only place Mallorn trees grew besides Aman and Numenor and it was kept as pristine because of the ring Galadriel wore.

Sauron probably just made him reconsider, and he feigned a degree of ignorance to Sauron because a) he didn't want to come off as condescending and b) he was probably half-listening after the first sentence and thinking of what it could be combined with. I always wondered why the elven rings were under Sauron's power if they made them without him. I dint know about the "Ring Law". I'm guessing it's like a blueprint and he has the patent 🤔
The captions are automated, and could easily misinterpret the word "lore" for "law", especially as spoken by someone using a non-rhotic dialect (one that drops r's). I'm glad someone mentioned it, as I saw "law" in the caption, and didn't hear the difference, and found it puzzling. "Lore" makes so much more sense.
Unlike the other rings of power, the Elven Rings had never been touched by Sauron, but they were still under the influence of the One Ring. As long as Sauron had the One Ring, the elven rings could not be used. With Sauron defeated and losing his One Ring during he second age, this situation changed and the elven rings power could be harnessed for the good.

The ring wielded by Gandalf Narya, also has the power of encouraging people to battle. In the movies it can be seen when Gandalf rides Shadowfax through the walls and levels of Minas Tirith shouting the soldiers of gondor to regain positions and defend the city. Pippin Tuk was under this influence when he said “we have been called to fight” with a very strange gaze in his eyes.

Something I just realized is that in the scene where Elrond and Saruman fight the ringwraiths, the reason Elrond can see the Nazgûl without using magic like Saruman did is because the rings allow you to see into their realm
The three Elven rings almost mirror the Silmarils of the First Age, one was cast into the sea, one is carried in Earendil's ship, and one was lost in the depths of the earth: water, air, fire

ALL 19 Rings of Power were Elf-rings. Sauron stole 16 after the conquest of Ost-in-Edhil and, since the jig was up with the Elves, he then dolled them out to the other races to see what would stick.
The Elf Rings had powers the others didn't. They preserved the Elven lands as they were before Morgoth's decay and hid them from Sauron's sight. Celebrimbor would think they are his greatest creation (if you consider the Elfstone not his) as he made three things that could never be made again, like his grandfather Feanor. Sauron himself helped forge the other 16,so the effects intended were different to what Celebrimbor wanted
@@djpikas0 Works both ways, Sauron could not make the Rings of Power without the High Elves...it took both parties working together for 300 years to figure out the science of it.
The elven rings did NOT come under Sauron's control! Hence why Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandalf could have them. They were hidden from him, so that he could not gain influence over them. They were vulnerable to him, but he had not been able to corrupt them before the elves figured it out.
I was wondering why would Galadriel keep wearing the ring if they initially removed them from fear of Sauron but then I remember Sauron was tought to be gone after the first alliance of men and elves against him, explaining why she was wearing it when Frodo met her
If only Sauron was to touch the Elven Rings like the did with the other 16 for dwarves and men, then the elves would have been ensnared and then he'd most likely have won without much resistance. He made a mistake not to oversee the crafting of the Elven Rings and therefore they took them off when they realized Sauron's plan.
