That is true, it could have been washed, however, leeks are like onions and have many layers and a bulb that grows in the sand below the ground and they are generally full of sand. I have never had a leek that was perfectly clean. Best to slice and allow to soak for a few minutes to let the sediment settle to the bottom. A little dirt never hurt anyone. I don't like to bite into a grain of sand and I was a bit surprised that they didn't show washing it. Thats all. No harm.

it would, because youre using 125gs of creme fraiche per 2 portions so it works our relatively cheap per portion. if they were pricing up the entire meal, itd cost more obviously

Bro have you ever washed leeks? You have to cut them lenghtwise and split them open to get the dirt out and not a small amount of dirt you will find between layers of leeks. They after all did grow in the ground. He just cut fresh leaks into peaces. GG.

He is right. They should at least mention it, it's important to clean leek before cooking with it.

Your dish looks great, however I cannot believe that you did not wash your leek! Leeks are notoriously dirty and full of sand. A quick soak in a bowl of water only takes a few minutes and allows the dirt to sink to the bottom. I seriously love you guys and don't want to be mean. We all forget stuff!

"garlic aint cheap" Say whut? Garlic, for the amount of vlavour it gives to things is super cheap. Garlic is an absolute basic ingriedient that you always need in your pantry, you cant cook without it. Its like salt or pepper, you almost always need it.

not gonna lie guys this is a poor effort. it's not exactly money saving. All these ingredients are expensive. Garlic aint cheap, neither are sausages. I would be okay with it if i could cook it in bulk and save it for later but i fear with this dish the quality of test might wilt. Considering they are from a student meals background i would have thought they would be better than this.
