Which muzzle brake will fit perfectly as I also have a Savage 110 Elite 338 LM and when I bought the rifle, they said that the muzzle brake didn't come with the rifle chambered in 338 LM, it comes with lower calibers only? So, please tell me where I could buy a muzzle brake for my rifle.
@@EpikArms Also please let me know which muzzle brake dimensions will fit to my rifle. I got two options on the site, one is .338 -5/8-24 and the other one is .338- 3/8-24. So, which one will fit my rifle(Savage 110 Elite precision 338LM with 30 inch barrel)?

I picked up one of these is 6.5cm absolutely love it.one of the best shooting rifles I have shot. Almost every shot touches each other except for the ones I twitched and pulled a shot lol
Great review, as always! I was super pumped to see this today, because in one week I will be picking one up in 308. Cannot wait to stretch it out and see how it runs. Love the channel and love the content!🔥
Man I feel ya on the whole ammo front. I got mine last year, it was the only left handed one I could find in Canada 😂 I bought it knowing I was going to have to reload for it. Even finding components has been a pain in the ass
For .338 Lapua you have GOT to reload. Factory ammo is too expensive and as you pointed out, hard to find. On top of that, I've never had a Savage that shot factory ammo very well, but hand loads give outstanding accuracy. I have the Savage 111 Long Range Hunter in .338 Lapua and a 250gr Berger Hybrid Tactical on top of H1000 produces sub 1/2 MOA groups. The Savages like a short jump to the rifling of .005" to .010" I was dinging a 15" rock at 1575 yards time after time with mine. BTW, I've never minded the safety tang on the AccuTriggers. I can't say that I "like" it, but I don't mind it, it's a lot like a 2 stage trigger.
Can confirm from experience handloading 338 lap. Case dimensions vary very slightly with base circle and internal volume. 338 lap was a wildcat for a long time and there some variation of what guns were built to. You must select quality brass and a good hpbt projectile that works with your barrels rate of twist. My 111lrh shot better that .5"@100y with a tuned handload. With box ammo it was more like 1-1.5"@100y. And that ammo was 100-225$(us) per 20 8 years ago. For reference my stock cmmg ar10 shoots .5"@100y with a tuned hand load using 4064 and Sierra match king 168gr hpbt hand sorted to only 168.3gr bullets.
To my understanding the Savage 110 Tacticals are also factory blueprinted. They just don’t come with a nice chassis or upgraded bolt body. Standard 110s or Switchbacks are not blueprinted.
All right. Some big bore guns. I have the 110 Stealth in 338 Lapua. It's definitely not practical and I'll probably never stretch it to the max but it's really fun. Mine is an MOA gun which is probably limited by the shooter. Eventually I will flinch at it even though I am pretty experienced with magnum guns. Mine all up is 21lbs still is a good thump. Ammo is not exactly easy to find where I live. I was fortunate to get a case of it at about $2.50/round a few years ago on Midway. IMI 250gr SMK. I have enough ammo and brass for a long time.
I think people just like to complain about the dingus. If you're doing everything right you don't feel it. It's like on a Glock. I've never heard anyone complain about the blade safety unless they are looking for an excuse for garbage shooting.
Hey mate, you should look at getting your hands on a Lithgow LA105 Woomera to do a review. Australian made bro and a precision rifle! Definitely comes under the term Epik Arms ☺️
Sorry about your "Canadian Handicap." I have this rifle, and it is very accurate producing a .417" sub MOA five shot group at 100 yards. What you are actually testing the accuracy of is the ammunition through that one particular barrel. Every barrel has its own unique harmonic node, and you have to match the ammo to the harmonic node of the barrel. Most do this through hand-loads or true "Match" ammo as I call it. Sometimes you get lucky and find something off the self. Mine likes 89.5 grains of H1000 and a 300 grain Hornady A-Tip.
It is a great setup. ACC gives plenty of add-on options. I find the action is not very smooth out of the box (especially when I compare it to my Savage 12), needs many rounds to get better. But it is accurate.
You gotta let us know what 2 rifles you like best from Shot Show... 1st is the Seekins Slam and 2nd is the Bergara MgMicro Lite.. Just seen the Mg last night!
If I was to get a lapua this would be it. Heavy and a 30 inch barrel. Just a monster. That 30 inch barrel is getting around 400 lbs more energy at the muzzle than a 24, with less kick due to added weight.
It was a toss up between my 110 Stealth and 110 HS Precision. I wanted to try a chassis so I went with the Stealth. Kinda kicking myself for doing it. It's a shorter barrel and I really just don't dig the chassis. Oh well. Live and learn.
@@chadperry4021How about the 26 inch barrel? Here are the weapons I found in 338 lapua: savage 110 long range hunter 338 lapua vs savage impulse elite precision How about I take it? Is the elite PRECISION worth $1100 for a 4 inch longer barrel? What tips do you have?
@@xd2.023 the stock on the elite precision is an mdt acc chassis that alone is worth about 1100 on its own, the action is also blueprinted, the barrel is also a very quality stainless barrel. The amazing thing about the acc chassis is how configurable and adjustable it is you can add weights to change the gun balance, and reduce recoil more. There are rubber inserts that reduce vibration. It has a thumb shelf. Even the grip is adjustable and replaceable. A 26” tune would be fine for a lapua. It’s your choice, your money if you want to get one just to have it get the cheap one. If you really want to have fun with it get the better one. It’s expensive AF to shoot might as well do it right. That’s why I bought my 300 prc I don’t have the money for the lapua I want yet.
@@chadperry4021 From what you told me, the 30-inch one was worth it, especially since you say that everything can be adjusted on it. What lapua would you like to get? What weapon do you have in 300 prc? How do you like 300 prc, recoil, hunting power, long range? I hope there are not too many questions and thanks for the answers
I've got one identical to yours, Precision Elite in .338 Lapua Magnum. Haven't shot it since I bought it because I've been busy with other activities. Something I noticed right away is that the barrel isn't perfectly centered with the front end of the stock, offset to the right if I'm not mistaken. I mounted the action on a second stock for test and it was again offset. Hopefully there was a temporary problem with the machine drilling the holes for the stock and everything will be fine as long as the holes for the scope rail are true with the barrel. Have someone noticed the same issue?
I have the Savage 110 FCP HS Precision in .338 lapua. I have only tested the Hornady ELD-M so far, but it grouped at 0.8" at 100yrds, I will begin testing more ammo this summer since I finally got my suppressor over the winter. I also have a Savage 110 Elite Precision, but chambered in .300PRC.. Haven't shot it yet, still needs glass and rings. What I can say about the .338 lapua from my experience and other people I know that own them. They are accurate, but not crazy accurate on factory ammo... about what you can expect from a 1980s cartridge and factory ammo. The really tight saami specs just didn't exist yet. If you do load development and optimize the ammo for your chambering then you should be able to get 1/2moa no problem.. you've got 30" of heavy stainless and a good 1:9 twist, now you just need the right ammo.
oh I should have noted, while I'm not certain on the Elite Precision, I know the FCP I have needs about 80-100rds to break in the barrel.. If your Elite Precision is like my FCP then you should notice the grouping tighten up a bit a few boxes of shells.
Probably a stupid question. But if your groups got tighter as you shot, did you shoot enough to break in the barrel and or fowl up the barrel enough. Mine can be garbage after I clean it.
This is a control feed rifle like a Mauser Rifle as opposed to a push feed rifle like the Remington 700. Doesn't effect accuracy but your less likely to have a misfeed or double feed.
First, thank you for once pronouncing La-Pwa correctly. 2, I am surprised it comes with a brake in Canada, in the United States the big long actions do not. My 300PRC, no brake.
They don’t here in Canada. My 300 WM came without one. Short action only come with a muzzle brake. Maybe he got it used judging by the bolt and the missing screw on the end cap. Mine shoots excellent using 225gr ELDMs
CDN PRS-theme channel....YEAH.....would have liked to have known your shooting distance here :) Where did you shoot? I'm assuming there aren't many places in Canada with PRS ranges...likely under 500 yards....heh.....vs in the US....where they have locations for 10000 yrard shots or greater.... Are Barrets's available in Canada? Dillion or Macmillan? Or are we limited in choice as is the case with most firearms....sadly we are not a "firearms -friendly country"...I'm from Toronto.
Thank you again for youre reviews. I check to buy this rifle in 223. But I'm not sure between the axiss 2 precison . Is the high price worth the value ?
I know what you mean. I’ve had mine for about 2 1/2 years. When I bought it, I found out that it didn’t even fit in my gun safe. Had to buy a new folding gun stock and a muzzle brake, and it still didn’t fit in my gun safe. Yet to fill it with my HD Leupold scope. Not sure if it’s going to fit in my safe after that. I’m waiting for my mile shot. See if I can just hang it on the wall.
Hello, Loved this review very much, You are very good at this sir. I am in Williamstown Ontario if ever your in this area please let me know. Would enjoy very much A chance to make you 20 rounds for this rifle and see how much tighter your group would be. Keep up the great work ..
heavy but its a good shooter! 208 grain 300 WM will give you sub MOA at 100 yards with this rifle. Hint, in reloading, use the a separate ammunition and case and only use it for this rifle. I have a winchester xpr 300 WM and this rifle will not chamber the fired case from Winchester XPR.
....2 things with the groups, ....1 - it is a gruesome savage, & 2 - there is "bullet-sleep" with big calibers that some ....d*@ks dispute WITHOUT proof, however, as you have seen at 1300M/1422Y or 1500Y/1372M that could be the case, although, you didn't show what the other ammo did,....so, lots more to experience. - Thanks fer sharing.
Did you shoot that at a "registered firing range" or can you shoot on your own private land if it's big enough to create a suitable berm? Not sure what Canadian law allows.
Canadian law allows nothing of any kind of fun, doing wheelies, shooting guns or flying drones. only ting you can do is work and sleep, even eating isn't sustainable because it's way to fucking expensive. oh you can play all the grab ass sports you think of, because they trump everything 😵💫
You can shoot on your own land or crown land as long as it's not in city limits, near dwellings, or any legally travelled roadways. Provided what you're shooting is non-restricted. The restricted firearms are a different game and range use only 🙄
@EpikArms I hear ya. I watch you videos and I just happen yo have that rifle. It was 80 plus rounds before it started shooting good and it wasn't tell I started reloading before it really shot good. Keep doing them and I will keep watching.
@@EpikArms I was guessing something like that. And that's the main reason why I don't own a 338 On the upside, you can get tungsten cored armor piercing 338's if you ever needed to shoot thru engine blocks, trees, houses, or anything else that gets in your way lol. $20 a round.....
