Why are we using a double fold binding when it uses more fabric and has to be replaced just as soon as a single fold binding? In this video, I will show you how to make a single fold binding, which uses less fabric. I cut 1.5” strips, but I have been known to cut 1.25” strips, because I didn’t have much fabric left.
Whereas double fold binding requires 2.5” or 2.25” strips, then you fold it in half and sew it to the edge of your quilt. That is almost double the amount of fabric needed!
