Ground turkey has become a beef alternative for us for lots of dishes. My husband will not eat the burgers. I love them. I can't eat beef. (lol). Asian Rice bowls, chili, spaghetti, Stuffed bell peppers, etc. The turkey is so good. Your boys are tooooo cute.
Nancy try adding some powder beef bouillon or a pack of onion soup mix and making burgers with your turkey that way. My husband couldn’t even tell. I always sprinkle in a little beef bouillon powder when I use it to make it “beefy” 😂
Try mixing one pound of turkey with one pound roll of beef to make burgers and season well I make the patties and put them in the freezer then grill while frozen so good
I’m going to make the burgers, they look great! For shepherds pie I scramble turkey with a good amount of steakhouse seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and just a whiff of cumin. Cook up an envelope of brown gravy mix-the powder kind-and mix about a half cup in with the turkey then it’s ready to go in the baking pan. Rest of the gravy goes right in the gravy boat on the table. Thank you for this video my freezer has many tubes of ground turkey in it
I've always preferred ground turkey to ground beef. It took me awhile but I finally got my sister around to my way of thinking. If not it being healthier, it's definitely cheaper than ground beef. And in these times we all could use cheap good protein options
You have a lovely personality! Thank you for posting this! It all looks very delicious and on the easy side! Just for comparison on the cost of ground turkey for you, I avoided a box of ground turkey patties when I saw they were $16.00 by Butterball. However at Aldi, I found a box with same amount for $6.00 by Jenny-O and decided to try them. Looking forward to that later this week. I believe the flavor game changer is truly the Worchesire Sauce (however it is spelled)! :)
:( ground turkey or chicken is $7 a pound here and the cheapest it goes on sale is $5.50 a pound. The food prices in the states seem to be so reasonable. Here in Canada food prices are so crazy :(
That’s terrible. I am working in Massachusetts. I am originally from NC. Prices up here are .75 to a dollar more per pound. It’s terrible. I wish I could stay home and grow my own garden.
I've used ground turkey for years. It's great in spaghetti, tacos and sloppy joes. A great way to save money. My family doesn't care if I use ground turkey or beef.
@maria I really smiled when you called the turkey ‘this little bundle of joy’…and of course in today’s economy it resonates. I like it when you remind cooks to use what they have on hand…
I make a turkey chili that is so good with that ground turkey. 1 pound ground turkey, a can of any beans you like, if the beans are in chili sauce no need to rinse, onion, bell pepper-green and red, or whatever you have, a can or frozen corn, diced tomatoes no need to drain or rotel if want to add more flavor, beef stock or bullion, also garlic I use fresh and garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and whatever heat level of pepper you like black or red. It’s all just kind of eyeballing it and tasting to get the spices and liquid level right- so freaking good. Just simmer everything together for a bit and serve with whatever you like with chili.
I have been binging on your shows. I am the type to look in a full fridge and have no idea what to make. So thank you..... BTW, your tie dye shirt is so adorable.
Mix it with ground beef that is NOT TOO lean and use Worchestshire Sauce. Still can not spell this and spell check on YT has no clue either. LOL I Pre-cook mine all together and then freeze into portions suitable for my recipes. Mix it a lot. :) Best wishes Danielle!
Here in ga the same ground turkey is under under 1.80 !! Most rice in the US says don't wash on the page cause here they over process it in the package so they add vitamin back so it had some nutrition!! However do whatever works for ur personal taste.. Food look so yummy as always
I make my husband ground chicken Pattie’s with bread crumbs eggs , onions and spices and he loves it. Purdue chicken is 4.49 # but cheaper than grass feed beef at 7.00#
Amazing how a different take on a recipe can do different things for you I may have to try the shipwreck casserole the recipes I've seen have been layered in there and just didn't sound appetizing I know it would be the same thing but yours actually sounded good. May give this one a try
I read in the recipe I used that she saw other recipes and thought there was no reason to layer. I'd have to agree! Why layer when it comes out like a shipwreck anyway!
@@MealsWithMaria oh agreed Plus for a family sometimes you have picky eaters would like some layers and don't like others and if they're all mixed together they will usually eat them all
Hi new subscriber here. I bought ground turkey on sale this week and was thinking of trying turkey burgers. I'm going to give this recipe a try. I also like to make tacos with ground turkey.
The Festive brand of ground turkey breakfast sausage tastes like the ground meat has some of the giblets mixed in with ground meat. It's good but most people are not expecting that flavor.
I’m not a huge fan of ground turkey however if you add Worcestershire sauce it’s delicious. That being said, I will definitely try your recipes. Thanks for sharing Maria!
My daughter use ground turkey the other day to make an stuffed peppers it was amazing the meat actually tasted like ground beef and I found out she used granulated beef bouillon when she cooked up the ground turkey so if anybody doesn’t really care for the ground turkey taste add granulated bullion to your ground turkey while you’re cooking it and it gives it more of a beef flavor taste
Another delicious set of recipes. My husband and are not grocery shopping until we clean our freezer so I will use your recipes to accomplish that. Any other ideas?
Wow your recipes look so delicious !! That burger looked amazing .. Just started watching your channel a few days ago love watching & am always looking for new recipes :)
I went to my IGA store and found frozen Biscuits reduced to $.50 ! I bought three packages . I will be making Egg, Ham and Cheese Breakfast Biscuits and some with Egg, Peppers and Bacon Bits yummmm The last time I used Ground Turkey I made a Cottage Pie, Spaghetti Sauce, and Cheeseburger Soup all with a pound of meat - these were not 1 serving meals but @ least 4 portions of each ! It can really be stretched by adding other ingredients. For Spaghetti Sauce I add in Wheat Germ to bulk it up and provide more fiber and B vitamins. I love the name SHIPWRECK CASSEROLE cute name and looks delicious
Thank you ! The ones on top of the soup came out okay. However the other ones did not rise as much as I had hoped. Still for that price they will great additions to meals in the weeks to come
There is a good turkey meatloaf that includes feta cheese, chopped radishes and diced cucumber and a lot of fresh garlic. It was published in either Woman's World or Woman's Digest magazine about 1998.
Woohoo 🎉!! You passed 20k subs!! 3 vids a week is paying off!!! That train wreck casserole looks like it could feed a small army!! I don’t even buy ground beef anymore. No one even noticed!
My husband hates ground turkey. Sometimes I can sneak it in with ground beef in things like tacos and chili, but in anything else, he would rather go meatless. I like it though.
