This tutorial will show how to deep clean on our #2013fordescape with tools that all cost $100 or less. This budget friendly process is to clean:
1. Cloth Seats
2. Hard Plastic Surfaces
3. Interior Carpet
The extractor and steam cleaner here are invaluable as they do an excellent job getting out the toughest and seemingly most embedded grit and dirt in your vehicle.
The extractor is a BISSEL brand at home spot cleaner, but the extractor head fits the curvature of your interior very well. The steam cleaner is a VEVOR 85oz unit and it packs quite the punch for the budget.

Hey thank you very much! Yeah, it was a bit of work, but it certainly got a whole lot less scary as progress was made. That mold was gross stuff. Wasn't hard though- just time and persistence :) Appreciate your encouragement! The vinegar was surprisingly effective as well!

I had water intrusion in the back of my 2017 Escape. In my case it was the top light on the hatch was cracked. So rain or car washes would produce a fair amount of water. Thankfully, my weather tech liner caught everything.

Did you find where the water leak came from ? I have the same issue with my Escape but I only notice it when it (hardly) rains in California. During this past storm season it pooled up pretty good but not overflow into the back footwells, whew!

The first step I took was to seal the weld at the top of the hatch opening. The "tape" looked like it had split. Water still leaks but only from the left side right now.

Do you discovered the place from water in the car?

Sorry for the delay! It is one of 3 places I think- either the rubber boot at the top of the lift gate where the electric lines run from the gate to the body, the right tail light (outer), or some of the rear roof rack mounts. I had narrowed it down to those before it started getting too cold outside to use sealant hah. Been managing it but will confirm when we stop it for good. Fingers crossed!
