Thank you very much! There’s a lot of different and more advanced ways you could go about it, but when everything is available as keystrokes it’s very stable to use the more basic route.

I came across your video whilst researching a macro I'm hoping to create.. I want to create a region group from a timeline selection but make sure it is made on the desired track. Going along with the dialogue recording theme, I use EdiCue to make cue sheets, however there are times when a region group has been created on the wrong character track, especially when the character tracks are really congested. I want to create a macro that makes the region group but ensures it goes on the correct character track, possibly by utilising the find track shortcut and prompting me to actually choose a character name from a list before the region group is created. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Aaron, happy to help! Sorry for the late reply. The macro only took about 10-15 minutes to create and tweak to my situation, then it was less than two hours to plug in those values from the spreadsheet and work through the script, as well as checking the macro’s work to make sure everything was executed properly. Hope this helps!

About how much time did it take for the app to execute the tasks for that one character? Obviously it'd vary depending on system configurations and number of clips per character, but I'm curious.

This is a cool video, but it leaves out a lot and the steps go by so fast, I can't even keep up. Like let's say I want to change from clip to clip to entire selection. Can't find a way to change it with KM. Easily. I can record the macro, but it always ends up selecting the same thing that was there rather than what I want.
