When the first temple was built by Solomon, nothing but the finest of materials were used. God dwelt there amongst man - a manifestation of His will from the beginning of time. This was inaugurated at the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles). This years them is In HIs Presence There is Fullness of Joy. A reminder that he has come to dwell among His people. At this time of the feast we acknowledge what is known as Hosanna Rabbah, which means “Save Us.” When Solomon dedicated the temple, the people tarried. They didn’t want to leave. So to as we conclude our week of Sukkot on this last day, we tarry, we wait on Him for another day because we too desire to remain with our King in His Presence. In our waiting we must continue to rejoice and look ahead for that glorious day approaching when our King will tabernacle among us. Not living aimlessly but occupying and carrying out what our purpose is until His return. Prior to the Messiah’s crucifixion He said to Israel that they wouldn’t see Him anymore until they acknowledge Him by saying “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” Until the day Israel realizes that He alone saves and delivers, He will tarry. So as we depart this Sukkot let us thank our Messiah for the sacrifice He made and for that Day when we will see Him again.
