Most bowhunters immediately use the silencing wrap for the arrow rest that comes in the package for a stealthy hunt. However, as we practice during the off-season and run higher reps through the bow, it’s best to keep the rest raw! This helps in 2 ways. First off you will gain accuracy because your arrow is not wearing lower and lower through the silencing tape as you run higher reps. Secondly you prevent yourself from impacting lower in the target the more you wear off the silence tape. My advice, especially for anyone getting a new bow this winter or spring is to have your shop hand over the silencing tape for installation closer to hunting season. This is a great protocol for having a bow check up just prior to season to get your shelf stealthy again and zero in your sight marks perfectly with your new rest tape and broadheads.
