Imagine if Portugal and Castille actually cooperated efficiently in maintaining monopolies in the west and east indies. They could have become world hegemons.

Tbf, they worked pretty well together. The problem is they got complacent, not reinvesting their riches into their countries, and even then it took a lot of bad luck and imcompetence from the Spanish to lose to England later.

game certainly needs to remove the limit for atrition. the fact you could get even more than 20k troops into the congo is sorta gross. i have used a no atrition limit mod, and it is unfortunately brutal for the players and undoable for the AI. memento mori
