Do you remember the movie Saw? When it came out people were like omg did you see the movie Saw? Well considering we''re getting another entry with the movie Spiral in 2021 it's time to revist the first three films from the six hundred that were made starting with the low budget horror classic that introduced the world to Tobin Bell''s Jigsaw and of course both Leigh Whannell and James Wan. I’ll tell you this for free: Saw was an oasis in the desert as a bored teenager. We had to put up with the likes of Jeepers Creepers as our box office horror films, then when I was 17 this came out and it was awesome

First three Saws are solid, even great at times. The protégés are fun, but they didn't have enough faith in them as series leads so had to retcon increasingly stupid twists for why Jigsaw is still there.

Saw six is the best post saw sequel though in terms of sheer entertainment. Its got shit production design and is technically worse but its more fun than Saw 3, which just feels morose and drags on repeat watches with the John and Amanda stuff (also the traps have some highlights but are otherwise just fine)
