I'm absolutely fascinated watching the log changing shape as you work on it, that's pretty cool. However sometimes I reckon you over think things, like trying to optimize with your Wood - Mizer saw. Would have been a lot simpler to get Corky to deal to the log with one of her Jigsaws, surely you can see the logic there Howard. And I'm positive your wise old Dad would have told you many times, "Keep it simple son, keep it simple." Here endeth today's lesson. Bye for now. (Hi Corky)
Corki says a big hello and thanks you for providing some weekly wisdom to keep me on the straight (very important with lumber) and narrow. However I just can't help myself optimize - as that is exactly how I ended up with this sawmill brand. I think the 82Maple headlines that day read "Wood miser buys Woodmizer". Here's to your health, happiness and best wishes that every day is a Dinomite Day!
True - but I just get impatient about cleaning some of those ugly logs out of my deck and doing something with them. Sadly this one is not the only one. Corki - her childhood nickname (as her mom's name was also Coral . . .) - and she looked like a kid with a new toy the way she was going after that roof, so I could not resist. haha All the best Dave. Looks like we've both survived another winter . . .
Howard...... I keep questioning in my own head whether I'm curious about what is in an ugly log or if it's the Yankee thriftiness that was put into my DNA by having Depression era parents who never threw a thing away!
Ditto. My dad kept telling all of us that he'd cleaned everything up in his shop and garage and pruned it down to the bare essentials (at 95 years), but when we moved him to the retirement facility a year later, my siblings and I still loaded out 3x 20-yard dumpsters of stuff that he'd saved . . . just in case. hahaha
