Saw's 10 Saddest Moments 

Every time I hear someone talking about Jeff, I immediately think of James A Janisse yelling "slow ass mutherfkn Jeff!" 😂😂

You know I always assumed Dr Gordon never went to get Addam because he got brainwashed to Jigsaws way of thinking "he didn't have what it takes to survive" but with how convoluted the Saw timeline is and the lack of knowledge of Gordon's timeline. Maybe he went back for Addam and by that point Amanda already killed him and Gordon was too late.

The amount of time this series had me shouting “just follow the fucking rules” & “why didn’t you just listen!” Is absurd 😂😂

I think you guys had a misconception about Dr. Gordon never returning for Adam. Just think: in Saw 3D we see him unconcious in the corridor and then John rescue and heal him. First of all, that takes a lot of time, and if we see the scene when Amanda kills Adam, he is still with his phisical form from Saw 1, i.e., this happens at a maximum of couple of days after Gordon left the Bathroom. Besides, he did not know where the bathroom was! Neve made the 'path' out of the Bathroom consciously. Secondly, In saw 3D John also says in that tape "Look after Jill... In return, I will keep no more secrets from you.", and then imediately cuts to Gordon going to the Bathroom. His body Language when looking at his sawed foot gives us that it is probably the first time he entered the Bathroom after his game. That means? He did indeed asked John about the bathroom and Adam, but John didn't tell him where it is or told him that it was already too late for Adam... Making it implicit for him that Adam was dead indeed. That's how I see the things, each moment of Saw, specially the flashbacks in the end of the movie, is a very smart detail.

I was expecting the moment where Jill loses the baby to be number one, or at least on this list. Instant gut-wrenching heartbreak as soon as you see it and knowing the characters are powerless to intervene.

John got emotionally destroyed in Saw X and decided “I can do worse” to Jeff😂

I always found ironic that everyone who was tested and survived either become an accomplice, entered in their villain arc or are miserable because probably they made it by causing someone’s death or lost limbs. Amanda was John poster girl of his peculiar “rehabilitation” but she went from junkie to murderer. Jeff never hurt anyone but by the end of his test he was able to take another human life.

I've never thought it before, but Saw 3 is quite brutal when you realize it caused Jeff's daughter to lose both her parents. First she lost her brother & then she lost her parents.

I really feel bad for Valentina’s character, because-keep in mind, she was S.A.’d and nearly rxped right before her “test”. She was understandably rattled by that, and then when she thought she was being saved by someone, another party kidnaps her and tortures her and her night ends with her being decapitated. Like, Gabriella, Matteo, Parker, Henry, and even Cecilia were going about their lives, and while Cecilia and Parker are the only 2 who got a fraction of what they deserved, and I think Gabriella and Matteo went through too much, Valentina’s night was an absolute nightmare even for SAW victims’ standards

No mention of Saw VI? William Easton dying while in front of his sister, begging "please," and being one of the only actually fully rehabilitated trap victims? C'mon now. I also always cry at the moment when the employee on the carousel tells William to "look at me while you're killing me!" Especially since the second William looks at him, he stops being mad and just starts being terrified.

I think the next movie should show what pushes Amanda to make unwinnable traps

Gordon didnt go back for Adam because he didnt know where the bathroom was. We see John find him exhausted and basically passed out. Then toward the end when Gordon gets the tape from Jill, John says (along the lines of) he'll finally tell Gordon the location of somewhere particularly special to Gordon. John basically dragged Gordon's body out and then refused to tell him where it was.

Obviously Jeff wasn’t in the place to think rationally: but upon reflection- if someone was messed up enough to set up that trap for you, even if you didn’t burn the possessions, would you really believe that you would ever get them back anyway??? Can’t see jigsaw just unlocking the cage and being like, well you had a tough day so here you go. Need a bag with that?😂

While I feel bad for Joyce, I can't imagine that she knows nothing about Bobby's lie. There's no way she didn't read his book or know what his career is built on. And while I get that respecting someone's privacy when it comes to past traumas is important, I can't see how she could have spent so much time around him and thought his behaviour and what he talks about is anything like what an actual Jigsaw victim would behave like.

One of the saddest scenes is "The Hanging Room Trap" from SAW 6. You can see William suffering from the decision of who to let go of. He was not a good man, but not a monster.

Rewatching saw X & I think John actually encouraged Gabriella's death, as there's a clear undertone that he's especially angry with her, as he trusted her the most & gives her the worst trap, he knows what cecila will do, but with his own logic his hands are clean Just my opinion

Strahm 😭😭😭😭 I always cry!!!

Allison Kerry’s death is the gut wrenching one for me. She literally did what she had to do to save herself only to find out her trap was unwinnable. Least deserving death of the franchise and so sad to watch her realize the trap was fixed.

What about Jill losing her baby?

SAW III's conclusion is my most intensely emotional part of the series, too. I feel it must be the best effective literary storytelling and/or cinema in the series, however much the 2004 film's impressed us. I do not attribute it exclusively to Amanda's death, however. I feel it's the entire build-up and sequence of multiple deaths that occur. There's like ten stories happening here all at once. We've got Riggs in that building, Eric, Mark, Peter, John, Jeff, Amanda, Jeff's child, Lynn, and Art all within a short distance of one another, all coinciding in a short time.

I guess we have a different perspective on "saddest moments". How in the world does the scene where Jill gets hit with the door and KNOWS she miscarried Gideon not make your list?!

I would of put Timothy's death, the guy who killed Jeff's child.. We saw in the flashback that he clearly felt bad about it, and that it was an accident

The moment I almost cried was when Jeff's daughter appear locked in a cell at saw III ending. I thought she would be left there to die, man that was so sad! A little girl dying just because her parents weren't nice people.

If only Adam had told John that the key went down the drain instead of attempting to shoot him, John might have done more to help Adam get free. But Adam chose poorly. If only Gabriella had listened to John's rules and obeyed them, she would have released herself at the wrist first and might have been able to easily evade the radiation machine when it moved. But Gabriella chose poorly.

Bobby Degan would be a great opening trap/kill for a movie lol

I usually pause before you start to take my guesses but I'm surprised Cecil pushing that door into pregnant Jill making her lose the baby didn't make it I had that number one and then Amanda's death somewhere in the top three which I did get that one.

What about kerry's death? She tried so hard in the angel trap and when she realised she wasn't going to win you see her give up and accept it and its heartbreaking

8:09 hearing mark brought up reminded me of a fanfic I read which, while I don't remember much, was a pretty cool idea, that being the spiral killer testing hoffman for the police brutality he did anyways, for a sad scene, I'm nominating Eric being left behind without his son

question about Saw 3D with the cops dealing with the aftermath of Hoffman killing the cops, we dont actually know what happened to bobby do we? he could be trapped in that warehouse for all we know, unable to escape. Unless after the events of 3D, Gordon freed him.

Whats sad about Adam is technically he survived he won his game but the key was lost due to a mistake he never could have prevented. He woke up in a filled bathtub and no one thought hey he may jump and pull the plug. Also with Gabriella and Amanda i think also amanda was desperate for someone else like her. It was just her and john at that point. I think she wanted someone else to survive one bc she believes it saved her and them but 2 bc she wants someone who can relate to her not as a mentor. Also she probably did see herself so much in Gabriella. Amanda and John's deaths were extremely sad. Esp bc it just shows how emotionally dependent Amanda is on John and her lashing out against herself and others when she feels that shes losing his favor. Which was never really the case despite john realizing well before she could not continue his legacy.

actually, since I mentioned Spiral that film was a mess, but I remember hearing they wanted a scene of John giving a young Schenk Mr. Snuggles I feel like that scene would've been one of the saddest if it was in the movie

I'll say that the "Pints of Sacfrice" trap gets me emotional here. It's an impossible choice of risk 50/50 chance of death or use the other guy to save yourself. Also, I'd say the screen with the "Rack" trap in Saw 3 is emotional for me because not only is this trap one of John's favorites, (which means it's painful and horrible), but we see the flashback that shows us Timothy Young just made a bad choice and really regretted it. A lot of people that drive drunk, (note: I'm not justifying drunk driving, I'm just saying this is the case), don't want to hurt anyone, but accidents happen and they are more likely to kill someone when you're drunk due to your reflexes not being as good at the time. Yes, I get why Jeff wanted revenge, but it's pretty obvious Tim simply wasn't an evil person either. He's just a guy that really f*cked up there.

Could you make a raiting about the plottwists of the Saw franchise? You know like John Kramer being in the bathroom in Saw 1 ....

Probably my favorite series of all time but the more you look into it, Jigsaw was a hypocrite and unfair with quite a few things. Seeing Saw X made you feel for him and I hope they make another film along that line that shows more of Kramer and how he starts to become less compassionate. It's hard though, because you really feel for him in that film.

Enjoyed the list . As a mum I can relate to Jeff doing his trial as much a Jeff annoys me so I think for me that’s one of the reasons why saw 3 is one of my least fave - so blooming depressing ( great traps though) . Think the acting in this franchise is so underrated, hope they got awards for it at horror award events apart from the dopey cop in saw 3D who is unintentionally funny with his ‘ crazy crazy ‘ dialogue. Actually found Gabriella and valentinas deaths sad . Have a soft spot for Eric , John Kramer and the hoff despite being bad people , felt for them and strahm as well . Think Joyce and valentina got the worst traps compared to Cecila . That’s the beauty of being a Saw fan, great characters . Also characters you love even though you shouldn’t .

After watching Saw X, I thought the point of the game/death of Gabriella being sadder than the others was because she was in a different position than the other scammers.... Gabriella was a drug addict who'd do anything because of her desperation, the others were greedy and/or sociopathic assholes!! Am I wrong? 🤨

At the first scene you've shown i already thought Adam's story is the saddest of them all. I mean we've seen a bunch of victims throughout the franchise who didn't get a chance, but it's different with Adam. It just feels more undeserved and unfair for some reason , at least to me... Not trying to say that any of the others really deserved what they had to go through

I think it was Gordon kind of brushing off his wife and his daughter. I am a child of a workaholic father and my mom was my world. When she died, I had no one, even though technically I still had him. He was there, but it was just a shell of my dad. I really feel for Gordon's little girl on that level.

I really hope by Saw XI (assuming it’s another prequel movie, this time between like II & III), Cecilia comes back as this lesion covered shell of herself, similar to Detective Eric Matthews, and that Amanda just kills her outright, as vengeance for Gabriella. It could be the first kill leading up to Saw III where Amanda solidifies her belief that no one changes, and that some people aren’t worth these “tests”, evident by all her rigged games in Saw III. Honestly Cecelia & Gabriella was the catalyst to her descent in III. I think that view of her’s had been solidified by III, and all Hoffman’s blackmail letter became was a final push over the edge.

Saw is a dark franchise but Saw 3 is the darkest one in my opinion.

I never felt sad watching theses movies only to see what happens

'Saws 10 saddest moments' isn't a title I thought I would ever see. In fact, I would believe it would be the last title about Saw I would ever see

More than for Adam's fate, I feel sad cause there are still some people, who just cannot understand that Lawrence couldn't go back for Adam. Process of blood loss goes extremely fast, already on the end of Saw, in the Bathroom yet, we could see how color of Lawrence's face was lossing slowly and his body is starting to shake. In Saw 7 opening this process continues, plus now he was almost about passing out, and this actually happens in the end. (My mom lost lots of blood after a surgery and she describes me how unconfortable it was, fortunately she didn't even passed out). Lawrence had to be in John's care at least some about months. He had to be so weak, he had to be too weak as he passed out again right after that John found him and woke up him. Even Lawrence could feel better after sometime, he logicaly couldn't come back for Adam, cause he hadn't his prosthetic foot yet, and even if he had, it takes about weeks until you learn how to walk with prosthetic. Plus he didn't know the location of the Bathroom, plus plus John wouldn't let him go. And also also, Adam was already dead in this times, cause Amanda had to kill Adam maximally 2-3 days after Bathroom game. (Cause Adam was still alive, when she came and human organism standard cannot survive more than 3 days without water, especially Adam was weakned by gunshot.) I don't know what you have in your heads, if you still don't see it in it, but it'll be probably the flash from Adam's camera, cause it is making you blind. And I don't know what else, you want t see, to understand it. As for Adam himself. Escaped he? No. Could he have escape? Yes. That key wasn't so much problematic. Adam could do same what Eric did or use that Zepp's gun to shot off lock or at least the chain. (Yes, that gun Adam used to try kill John.) And finally when Amanda was suffocating him with that plastic bag he could bite through it or pierce it. At least I still feel little bad for Amanda, cause she was crying. And this is message from my mom: Try to cut off your own foot, and AFTER start to talk And my little supplement: Lawrence's promise on its own. You seriously took it as a promise to life and death? After all, Lawrence himself couldn't know if he'll survive, that's what you have to think about. Of course he said it to Adam,my god to calm him and make Adam let him go. Yes, it's some form of promise, but it's not as scout promise or Unbreakable vow from Harry Potter.

Before I watch the list, William and Strahm dying are 2 of the saddest deaths.

Well if you consider DBD canon then amanda got an even worse sad punishment than just death. Now she is stuck in an endless loop of torturing and killing over and over and over until her sanity is completely destroyed to the point that she just passes into an eternal void of nothingness. Even john would not have wanted her to suffer a fate so cruel and yet that was her ultimate destiny in the end.
