The first time I heard this I was like 13/14. I'm 46 now and this song still sounds amazing now in 2017. The 80's were really the best era for heavy metal.
stormwind47 Same here. My first rock concert was Saxon in Mainz Germany during their World Crusade Tour. I was 13/14. One of my dad's U.S. Army buddies introduced us to Saxon via their Crusader album. I'm 48 now, and their music still gets me going just like 1983/4.
Saxon has always been under rated, they were equals with Priest and Maiden in the eighties. Too bad North America never really picked upon them. Incredible band!!!
Yeah, I'm in North Carolina. I used to rock Saxon in high school in the early 80s. "Strong Arm of the Law" was one of those bad ass albums you could put in and just let it play. I liked "Denim and Leather" but "Crusader" ended up being my favorite Saxon Album. People said they "sold out" or "went commercial" with "Crusader", but I disagree. I think they had refined their sound, peaked their talent, and made one of my top 20 best overall albums of my lifetime. I saw them at the first ever "Monsters of Rock" at Donington Castle in England. My dad was Air Force and we lived in Upper Heyford. I saw them live in Fayetteville NC, later in the 80s. I can't remember which album they were touring but they played "Crusader" so it was later then that Album. They are one of a few bands I've seen live more than once. I still listen to them.
I saw Saxon open for Iron Maiden in 1983 when I was 17. Fastway the the first band on stage at that show. Awesome heavy metal show. I am now 52 and still love the old metal. Where did the time go? Very little good rock coming out today. You really have to look for it. Head nod to AIC for still going strong.
@@petrolhead1960 such an underrated band. My favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, White Spirit, and of course Saxon. The bands like Metallica, Megadeth, and Quiet Riot just never clicked with me and I tried hard to like all three of them!
I saw Saxon when they opened for Crue. At that time, Crusader was the only album I'd heard. Now, I've heard every one of them but I still think "Crusader" is my fav.
Perfect song, GREAT melodic and super heavy guitar solo (Paul Quinn, genius)... The band was in his absolute peak after "Power &Glory" album. This song was, far away, the Best from "Crusader" album.
I dont know if it was but, i was a huge Saxon and Armored Saint Fan. I couldnt wait for that concert. i got there, got Soooooo wasted i dont remember a Freakin thing !! Dammit !!
I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon on this tour.. Incredible sound and I agree with the comments about the line-up. Very, very underrated band with fantastic songs conjuring historical imagery with a huge wall of sound.
I’m so glad I went to a Saxon gig at Fort Regent in Jersey in the late eighties... It was a sell out though you see so I had to park me hog in a field outside and sneak in through a very high and dangerous skylight in the forts famous domed roof, but it was worth it I have to say, and I even caught a drumstick that was thrown into the crowd....
buena letra y ritmo hoy Crusader para salir de la depresion/angustia y stres todos los dias y ser LIBRE destruyendo lo que te hace daño para seguir al SEÑOR
