Glad to hear it! Ye mate the Scorpion has been brilliant the only thing I would change is them offering a darker visor as the one you get is a road legal version so it's not very tinted at all.

Just found your channel, and became your 29th subscriber! I know it is a late comment, but still relevant. You liked the style of the Ruroc, but ended up with a Scorpion Covert FX. I also did something similar. I liked the style of the HD Road King, and the Heritage, but ended up with a Honda Shadow Aero. It is not a HD motorcycle, but it did give me the look I like. I could have ended up with a Yamaha V star, Kawasaki Vulcan 900, Suzuki C50T, or some other cruiser that just fit the look that I liked. As for the Scorpion Covert FX being the helmet to smash Ruroc... I believe any helmet that has a vent that can open and close without using plugs beats Ruroc. Looking forward to your next video. @@GhoshyUK Here is some statistics for you. I created my channel in 2007, and have not had more than TEN subscribers until 2020. Yes, you are seeing correctly. Thirteen years with less than ten subscribers, but now I have gained a two hundred plus subscribers in one year. The difference was that I used to do computer graphics and videos, for myself. I did not promote my channel at all, and in 2020, I started to make logo's, graphics, intro's, and outtro's for motovloggers. Now I am back riding again, after a long twenty seven year break from riding. So, now you know how much rambling I do when I am tired, and watching RU-vid videos past midnight, just because... hehe Take care, ride safe.

Really appreciate the comments brother, I am going to do another one on this helmet as riding through winter I noticed a few issues which I would of liked to know about before I bought it so watch out for that. Also sure thing I'll be doing a few trips this summer so will let you know pal ! (For the Horde)

I too have a Ruroc Atlas 4.0. Initially I had the SM size but it was exceedingly difficult to get on and then once on it was almost impossible to take off. The LM size fits snugly. Issues I have are with the chin screen which often becomes unlatched from its clips and feels as though it is going to come off when I am riding. The most irritating thing though is the Shockwave comms unit. When paired to my phone and I play music the volume is fine. When paired to my Garmin Zumo 595 satnav I can only hear the instructions up to about 45 mph, above that they are virtually inaudible even on maximum volume it is also difficult to find the volume buttons when riding with a gloved hand although the installation was super easy. I also took the trouble to take out the cheek pads so that I could align the speakers with my ears. I have contacted Ruroc about this and they suggested doing a firmware update and full reset which I did but it did not improve. Since then Ruroc have gone quite (just like the Shockwave). My bike is a HD Sportster with a screen and yes there is still wind noise but no more than with my Schuberth C3 which is fitted with a Sena 30K comms unit that does work with my satnav and is so much easier to adjust the volume when riding. For group rides I now pick up my older Schuberth rather than the Ruroc so feel a bit peed off with my purchase. Just one point I notice your Cardo unit is mounted to the RHS of your helmet. They normally fit to the LHS so that you still have control of the throttle and brake at all times.

Thanks for the comment my friend, yes I found the same issues with my Ruroc I couldn't be more glad to not have it anymore! My cardo is on the LHS might of just been the upload of the video mirroring the image!

Hey Really enjoyed your videos and glad I found them before I bought the ruroc helmet myself! My only complaint is your audio... I know starting off doing videos like this you want to keep costs down. Have a look at the blue yeti snowball mic, you can pick them up very cheap 2nd hand and it will improve your audio immesurably. (or a blue yeti full if you can afford it) Out of interest, which J&S did you go to ?

Thank you so much my friend, And yes it's something I have been struggling with I tried some Bluetooth ones in my most recent video but they just aren't not great at all. Will definitely look into your recommendation! I used the J&S in Birmingham the staff are great and you can get better discount in store if you push for it they do also price match! @@GhoshyUK You're welcome :) I have never done youtube videos like you, but used to do Twitch streaming and the yeti were the best for the price, without going crazy prices! (also look into a cheap windscreen, they can help too) My local J&S is the delamere one, I will have to give them a visit soon. Keep up the good work mate. (also keep me updated on the visors, I will want some coloured ones too if I go for the same helmet)

I run a ruroc 4.0 currently and there is only a few complaints i have with it. One issue is the rubber gasket that lines the bottom of it was falling off. I just gorilla glued it back into place. The shockwave is ok also. I got the older shockwave so i guess the drivers aren't as great as the new ones but it does the job. I've been looking at this Covert FX since there is such a brand bash on ruroc and i'm tired of hearing about it so i'm swapping out lol. It's either gonna be the covert fx, R420, AGV K! S or K6 S. The only thing i don't like about this helmet is the quick release for the visor.

Personally if I'm paying 300-400 for a helmet at no point do I expect to be fixing something myself on it or anything breaking at all unless it's user error/neglected. My AGV before this is 9 years old the only issue I've ever had is the visor doest sit in the second open position very well anymore due to he gears being worn down from use. Will be doing a full Covert FX review shortly just wanted to get a bit more riding with it

LOL, never switch due to pressure from others. Far too many people get caught up in opinions based on others with no real experience with a product. The 4.0 is a great helmet and worth the price, very safe and quality materials. Shockwave is decent, Phone and Music have different volume levels so you need to make sure both are turned up all the way or you will get what you describe.

Based on almost 70% of their user reviews the majority agree that ruroc isn't worth the cost and the shockwave system is one of the worst systems on the market for the cost. Great to hear that you are happy with it I'm glad people have better experiences than me. But as I say in all the videos on this helmet this is MY opinion and experience doesn't mean everyone else should listen to me.

I hope this helmet does well so they start making some with cool graphics or other colours. The biggest draw, or one of the biggest draws (I guess the other main one being the shape) of the ruroc is the incredibly detailed and unique graphics on their lids.

Ye I agree, Ruroc do a great job of making the helmets look more unique I think the issue with expecting this from real brands is they make 100s of helmets and Ruroc make 1. So they have to have a selling point other than the shape.

Yeah they went all in on the design. I know they get a lot of bad press but in 3 to 5 years and another few revisions I reckon their helmets will be top drawer, providing they don’t go nuts on price and they get their QC issues ironed out a bit.

Ye absolutely agree if they worked out the issues they have it could be a top level helmet. My worry is that they do so many offers and the only time you tend to see that is if an organisation is struggling to get the number of sales they need. Also if they put more work into the shockwave and made it compete with cardo and Sena they would start to sky rocket

The shockwave is only good for listening to music so you pay £150-170 for Bluetooth headset in your helmet which you can get the same thing with just as good sound quality from amazon for £30, the shockwave microphone is unstable for phone calls if your going above 20mph the other person cannot hear you at all and the app to use intercom "Chain" doesn't work it crashes. So you made a great choice going with Sena!

Fit was perfect for me, I'm a medium in most helmet and the M was just right I tried on a small but was way to tight. Love the helmet I have done a review video just haven't had a chance to edit and upload it so should be doing in this week! Glad I could help

No it doesn't come with one but if you go on the pinlock website and search for the covert FX it gives the model number you need for the pinlock then just Google search that I got mine for £23

If it has no armour technology inside the helmet then its a no for me. Its 2023 all helmets should have some sort of d30 armour in the helmet by now.

Hi Steve, not sure what you mean by this comment. Both Ruroc and Scorpion have armoured lining in the helmets it's one of the min requirements for the ECC 22.06 regulation

Yes mate it's a basic requirement for the 22.06 helmets now and ye colours visor is annoying also the standard tinted visor is a road legal one which is annoying as it's hardly tinted doesn't really help in direct sun

Ye that's not true at all, in the UK you cannot sell any form of motorcycle protective gear without being regulated, in the US it might not be the same level of testing as it's a bit odd out there but in the UK it is impossible to get around the testing. And Ruroc are an extremely safe helmet just very poor design.

Ye they took off too quick and they pull people in with the collaborations like marvel but the product they sell is below par. Still can't get over the shockwave you basically pay £150 to listen to music
