We love the Heartwood Hotel books here. Our daughter, 4.5 is getting some new duplo sets, two games (out foxed and sleeping queens) a whole bunch of books, and some wooden animals.
We moved across the country last year and between what we bought and what everyone sent left us with a completely overwhelming Christmas. This year I have 2 joint gifts for my boys and then 10 gifts each. I’m hoping family will tone it down this year as well.
Oh man I can relate! My family goes NUTS. Our girls are the only grandkids on both sides. It is so much. Thankfully my mom told me what she got so I just scaled back and tried to do fewer toys and more books, games, etc.
Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely going to have to look into a Yoto player. I have a 4.5 yr old girl, we also homeschool. She requested "lots of books and a surprise." The Heartwood hotel series is great, we are on book #2 and totally engaged.
We are still obsessed with our Yotos 11 months later! I doubt you will regret it! Can’t wait to read the Heartwood Hotel books with my girls this winter!
I really enjoy watching these videos each year and getting ideas. The only thing my 3 almost 4 year old son has been asking for this year from Santa Is a "Jingle bell" . He loves the movie polar express and wants his own sleigh bell Like the boy in the movie.
Hello, my granddaughters are 19 months, 7 and 9. So hard to get them things, but you have great things, which I believe they will love as well. Thank you for the Christmas video!!
Roald Dahl was a childhood favorite of mine! I know your girls will enjoy the books! I've always been a huge audiobook lover and would have loved those little players as a kid!
I love seeing your picks each year 💖 I looked up the sensory boxes on Etsy and I'm so happy I did because the shop owners are a neuro-diverse/special needs family like mine! I'm definitely adding those boxes to our Christmas list this year 😄. Thanks for sharing!
Our 6, 4, and 2 year olds all have Yoto players and love them! We’ve been big fans for over a year now. We also gifted our kids the Story Time Chess last Christmas, and it’s been a big hit. :)
I love the books especially the LEGO one. I would have loved the fashion designer toy set as a kid lol. You found a lot of amazing items. Thanks for sharing ❣️
Welp just went on eBay to get the cutie o shopkins mall I was looking for something she can play with and put all her shopkins in and that cutie o is perfect sucks it’s discontinued and way over priced but will get lots of play time for sure thank you for another great video 😊
Yeah I’m still kind of surprised I got it - but my mom went half in and I included it in the Christmas budget. I know they will play with it a ton and be SO excited since I’ve told them many times it’s not sold anymore.
I love this! Thank you for the ideas. I have 3 and 6 year girls. I usually over buy junky gifts that break and no one plays with🤦♀️ This year I'm only buying a few things and going on a trip in a train to the zoo. It's hard because my girls want everything but I know they won't play with everything.
I totally get it! My 5 year old wants every breakable junky toy there is. She buys them with her own money (they earn $5 per week currently but only can spend it every three months usually when they fill up all their stickers for our reward charts). I let them use that money on the crappy toys so they can learn what a waste they are 🤣. And then I am saving that $40 leftover to buy one more thing they really REALLY want. I love the train and zoo gift!!! That’s wonderful!!!!
@@HomeschoolGlue ohh the sticker chart and earning their own money is a great idea! I learned over the last few years I was buying toys for me not them. So I wouldn't feel bad they didn't have much to open. I'd just buy random toys🤦♀️ but I have to remind myself that's not what Christmas is all about❤
This is the first Christmas gift video where I was like, “Yaaas! This mama totally gets my gift-buying style!” I am new to the idea of the Yoto, how does it play music? Does it use a card for that too? Or is it a radio, or do you you download music onto it?
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! I have a detailed video on the Yoto: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5lWx4Eu_Gfg.html It’s a radio, podcast player, audiobook player, and music player all in one!
My 4 year old is rough on her toys. She was trying to open is a little too rough I think. It’s great quality for sure, but maybe I have it to her a little too soon. We will play with it, it’s just not connected now. ❤️
Because of your videos, I just brought the first heartwood hotel book! I cant wait to read 🥺 We also ordered the dragon game, similar to sleeping queens (I think from the same brand) we have really tried this year not to buy junky stuff that won't be used but I think we have done well this year!
Yay! I can’t wait to read them! So sweet! I’m so excited for our youngest to get a little older and play family games all the time. We’ve never been able to consistently because our toddlers are always super grabby which just leads to super stressful game times. I can’t wait to play consistently!
My daughter has been asking for more LoL dolls as well as another Switch game since she is finally almost done with her Paw Patrol game. The dress up clothes is a good idea for a present and she did put something like that on her list. Next year hopefully can introduce a shared gift since her little brother will only be 9 months this Christmas.
Thank you so much for sharing!! Love these type of videos, would love to learn more about all things the yoto player does. Not sure if you have a resource you can share or if you can do a video going into more detail? Thanks!!
Can I ask if these gifts are all from mom and dad, or are these from Santa too? Or do you not differentiate? We are also cutting back, so just interested to hear how other people do things.
To each their own. My kids play with them every single day with playdough, they don’t make noise, and I didn’t buy any of the actual shopkins we have (they got them at garage sales with their own money and as gifts), so to me they aren’t junk.
