I’m from Melbourne, at Gympie there is a sign that says “Gympie, the town that saved Queensland”. I understand that gold was discovered at Gympie just in time before loans were obtained from London. Can you please do a story of the Gympie gold?

Had me going with the title, Rob. Glad to hear it's only the camera that's retiring. It's always a little sad when you have to say goodbye to a good bit of gear that you've shared adventures with, but I hope you have fun with the new camera!

I look forward to the Chermside video, my mother remembers being in the camps in the late 40's waiting for their housing commission house to be built. Her mother used to cry alot due to the conditions... they would walk to the Chermside school each day.

Thanks Rob, new camera looks great. I’ve driven over that old Logan River bridge (as a passenger) probably hundreds of times. My grandfather had a holiday house at Southport and we spent virtually all our school holidays there.
I remember going to the Gold Coast late 60s early 70. Myself and my three sisters in back of Holden. Stinking hot,mum threatening to bang our heads together if we don’t behave. Then Dad would say I can see the sea. Hooray we all screamed. I swear it took half a day to get there from Brisbane. Love ya work Rob. Oh by the way mate I use to hang out at Runcorn all hours. I’m a bit older but we may of met. Merry Christmas to all.
One of these days I will find the energy to walk not just to that bridge but across it and beyond to the Hyperdome or something. (although not in the middle of this heatwave...)

I had to replay the bit about poles. Just before you mentioned straight poles, you walked past two light poles that definitely looked bent. But on replaying it looks like they were actually bent light poles.
I can remember driving over that bridge long time ago I used to live right around the corner from that bridge as well good little skatepark of the road as well
I wanted the DJI but functionality with Android is sad plus that Chinese watching you fear. So GoPro it was. And I hardly use it vs you so good to learn the DJI works in your cases!
I have both a DJI Action 3 and a GoPro 8. The Action 3 is definitely better, except that it's prone to wind noise. I use my Ray Ban Meta glasses to record most of my audio now because they have directional sound recording and almost no wind noise (unless I'm on a motorcycle). I also find that the operating system on the GoPro 8 tends to crash, once so badly that I had to reset the whole camera before it would start working again.

Dam, shame I missed you i live about 700 mtrs away from where you were filming, as a young high school student and living in beenleigh i would have to ride my push bike over the red bridge to get to shailer park high school, it was quite scary not much room there to get across. Mind you the traffic back then wasn't half as much as it is now. Thanks love your videos.

Chalk and cheese Rob the quality is so Crisp you right about the fish eye effect on the go pro probably good for surfing or realestate but the turn off function on the DJI is handy. Bring on Chermie
Great little camera. One tintsey winsey little criticism....its a little dark?!?...maybe contrast adjustment as full sun as natural light is bright not darkish... Cheers, keep up the good work

This videos was posted 5 months before you even watched and commented on it and he’s posted numerous videos since then. Not sure how you thought that. Not to mention he was holding his camera up in the thumbnail.
It's hard to believe but back in the day semis would use the red bridge (without the now added curved rails). I don't know what convention they used coming from different directions ?
I have to say warp at 1:40 background pole (as you were mentioning this with the warp effect handrails of the bridge?). This camera may be not as bad then as others, the issue still exists however. Did you consider the Insta 360, the latest is amazing?
@twinshock175 The handrails and background pole are not warped; they were designed that way i.e. that's how they look in real life. The DJI OSMO 4 has a Dewarp function which I was using to shoot this video. I have looked into the Insta 360 but I find it warps, curves and basically distorts everything hugely and requires considerable post production work.
@proscott33 Once I get home from filming I download everything immediately onto my Mac, then I make copies of it all onto three separate external hard drives. Once the show has been edited and uploaded, I wipe all the footage from all of my hard drives, but I save the completed show onto a hard drive for safe keeping.

OH, that's good advice. I could use a camera like this, but didn't like the fish eye effect of the Go Pro. I didn't realise you were using an action camera the whole time.
Deidre? I can't think of the name Deidre without thinking of the Monty Python skit where a frequent mother is washing dishes at the sink when a new born baby falls to the floor at her feet and she says to her youngish daughter next to her... "Oh, get that would you Deidre?"
Nice camera, it will do you well. Did you know that the old "red" bridge was once used for part of a movie? Unfortunately I cannot remember the movies name. But it might of had Jean Claude Van-dam as the main character.
