Rodney dangerfield, Don Rickles, Patrice O’Neal, Jim Norton, Ralphie May are just a few examples that come to mind. As if you’re “perfect” ( have looks, are funny, have wealth, fame and likability) it makes some people want to dislike you. I don’t know this from perfect experience. Just plenty of comics talk about it. Take Dane Cook for example, even though he was huge he got more shit for being attractive enough to lead in movies. Even dudes that aren’t ugly, but just aren’t Brad Pitt will intentionally dress down.
