I heard of a performance Anthony did in which the crowd bood a joke. I thought this was about that time, but no. The time he got bood, he waited for the crowd to quiet down, then proceeded to tell the exact same joke, word for word. Legend.

Hardly, every punchline could be seen coming from quite a ways a way. Maybe not the specifics but his recipe is painfully simple and he doesnt do a good job of being clever with it

@@shustyrackleford_710 His jokes rest so heavily on the punchline being a surprise; when the punchline ends up not being a surprise or the surprise isn't that funny, it's really unfunny. He is pretty unique and he's clearly funny, but when I sat through a 2 minute joke of his only to predict the punchline before he said it, I had to turn it off. Second guessing is a technique but just like in music, tv or movies you can't rely entirely on it because it itself becomes predictable and boring.

Anthony is a good dude. Most comedians would have belittled that chick for laughing so loud before the punchline or told her to shut up or get out for taking some of the spotlight off of them but Anthony handled it respectfully and professionally.

She wasn't unruly or trying to be disruptive, she was genuinely laughing hard, so I think he appreciated it! Of course, on his special "Thoughts And Prayers", there was that woman laughing like a hyena for the first part of the show, and he handled that really well too.

This is one of the best jfl sets I've seen on this channel. The crowds in Canada are known for being tough audiences for comedians but jeselnik won them over with his "I don't give a fuck" persona and killer dark bits. Anthony is right up there with Mitch hedberg and Steven wright.

I think that would be like putting 2 magnets together on the same polarity! They both play off the premise that they're too good looking to get in any trouble for the awful shit they say, but they are both able to say shit in an amusing way. Tosh is more "classist" and Jeselnik is just evil for fun. I think it would be more like they would both feel like a usurper has entered the kingdom lol

This is a clip from a show called Funny as Hell, hosted by Jon Dore in the early 2010s. This show exposed me to some of my faves...Tim Minchin, Jim Jeffries, TJ Miller, Garfunkel and Oates and of course Anthony. Funny as Hell was a big part of how I came to love stand up and admire these comedians so much
