This is my 1984 c10. It is a 406. 11:1 compression. 5.7" rods with flat top pistons. World product 72cc heads. Comp cams XE284h camshaft. Backed by a TH400 with a 3000 stall. Exhaust is Headman 1 5/8" headers with 3" collectors. 3" duals run to Thrush Welded mufflers. Then 2.5" pipe from the muffler to the 4" tips.

How did you even get 11:1 compression with 72cc heads😂had to have decked the block or the heads.

skrilx12345 correct. Block was decked due to previous overheating. Flat top pistons with no valve reliefs also bump compression up. 72cc heads were a must in order to keep it on pump gas.

Step down to two and a half from the Mufflers to the tips did you need some back pressure / compression?

Local exhaust shop just couldn’t bend 3”. My plan was to order some bends and finish it out in 3”.

Francisco Huerta 383 forged eagle crank, forged scar rods and forged wiseco pistons, with a set of World Product heads. It’s about 10:1 compression, built for a little nitrous, and I’m running the same camshaft I had in the 406

Francisco Huerta I had my world product heads on it. The heads were not drilled for steam holes and I used a block off head gasket to try to get around it. Unfortunately the block cracked clean down the steam holes and when it did it destroyed the bottom end. I learned my lesson on the 400 for sure. Gonna stick with the 350 block where I don’t have to worry about steam holes and parts are much more available

Francisco Huerta thanks man! Unfortunately it’s been sitting since shortly after this video was taken. Building an engine for it now, should be ready in the next few weeks. Paints a little rougher than it used to be but stay tuned for new content on it coming soon!

Sounds good. I'm building a similar engine setup. What mufflers are you running? They sound like the old flowmaster 40's

Tim Kennedy Thrush welded mufflers, they are pretty much just an offbrand 40

C10video 1 nice. I had thrush on my jeep. My car was done a long time ago with Flowmaster Top 10 Shootouts. They weren't out very long or too popular because their size. It's pretty much a Delta 40 in a 70 series case.

I'm not exactly sure, I don't have access to a dyno. But I did some readings on a similar build with hotrod magazine and theirs made around 470 with a more aggressive roller cam. So my best guess would be the 400hp range
