I loved the video man. I work on F16's in real life. But I had to watch this video to figure out how to start it in game. In real life if you look right under the throttle you'll see the main power switch. All you have to do is flip that main power switch then flip on the Jet fuel starter. Needless to say I was very confused in game.
Have you tried DCS yet? In DCS you do all above then move throttle throttle to idle. It's a block 50 f16c and it's immaculate I highly recommend the viper in DCS.
Thanks for the review! Those switches do all work, I think there is an issue with MSFS since SU7 where sometimes screens don't display and switches stop working - heard some reports from users of the F-16s but also other airplanes of that happening. Big updates for the F-16 coming in 2022, and bug with the various tank visibilities already fixed for a small update next week along with some other extras. Cheers!
You should fix the elevon direction when using ailerons. Because its wrong (inverted). And you also forgot to make the damping animations for the gears. Also you using F-14 codes in you XML's for the afterburner animation (two engine code for a single engine plane...). But the are just examples of your poor work to be honest. You sell planes but you put not enough effort into them. Grow up please and be more serious and dont end like Captain Sim beeing so lazy...thanks.
@@MStreppelhoff You really should learn how to talk to people. Your comment is rude and offensive. The elevons are correctly animated, but the introduction of Fly-By-Wire has reversed them, which is already fixed for the first update. XML code governs only afterburner visibility - the same code is used for many airplanes. It's not laziness, it's simple fact of life in real engines also. Gear compression *is* modeled, but the animation is too small and so needs to be extended slightly to be more visible. Grow up please and fix your poor communication skills, and stop being so lazy. Thanks.
@@DCDesignsMSFS Im not rude im just honest. Do a better job. "it's simple fact of life in real engines also"...really ? really ? I cant take you serious sorry man ;)
@@MStreppelhoff Yes, really, you're both rude and wrong. We do try to answer even when people are as rude and condescending as yourself, but we won't bother replying further. Do a better job of communicating with people and you will find they are far more helpful.
Holy smoke this is amazing Brett. Grew up loving the F-16 , Have not brought any fighter jets yet as its not my cup of tea in the sim except mucking about with the freeware mods but this might tempt me to fork out for my first Jet purchase . Great Review
@@BrettPlays We don't reply to that guy due to their repeated trolling ( as you can see down this thread on your video ) and because we don't need to. We can supply both names and images from real F-16 pilots who flight tested the F-16s, if you have any doubts. We don't generally do so as MSFS is not a military simulator and, as such, there will always be differences from real life. Therefore, we never like to pin a real pilot's name on our products as it implies absolute accuracy when we don't ever intend to build study-level airplanes. But when we tell you that real pilots have flown it, enjoyed it, advised us and we have built the airplanes around that advice, you can trust us that it's true. Cheers, DC
Thanks for the review. I find the sense of speed is much better in MSFS, I`ve always felt that in DCS the sense of speed is lacking. It always bothered me.
@@Pilot-2020 because I often had to do other fixes to get it working that I may not have explained on the video. The freeware one I reviewed works too and now is getting liveries
No, Asobo/Microsoft has banned all weapons from their instore products. This allows them to have a G rating for the sim in Europe apparently. The PC can download the weapons as addon mods from websites or if purchased outside of the sim they came as standard. Sorry but xbox does miss out here.
Try the switch that says TEST STEP and when mouse over says CREW VISABILITY ON or OFF. That might be what you got on. Hopefully that is the issue, I have seen though sometimes when in any aircraft the pilot gets in the way of the camera even though they are not meant to be visible. I find going to an outside view then straight back into the cockpit gets rid of them, it's a glitch that happens sometimes.
For some reason, everytime i try to land, i put the gears out and the f16 just goes wack with the nose trying to pull down fully and when i pull up it just starts bobbing up and down
Do you have any auto pilot assistance on, in your settings like auto trim or the likes. Sound life that is trying to control you aircraft for you when it does not know what your doing.
@@BrettPlays so I have all my settings off for AI assistance but for some reason between the F-16 and F-15 the auto trim seems to stay on even when off. Makes both aircraft impossible to fly 😢
I love this jet but I’ve had a problem where when I put landing gear down it throws the jet into a nose dive and pushes right has anyone else had this happen to them and it automatically throws the flaps down didn’t know if that was normal either
I haven't had that happen myself, did you check if you have any other controls bound to your gear controls? Also is it happening while you have AP on still or anytime?
@@BrettPlays yea I made sure that there is nothing else bound to that key this is the only jet I have that does this. I don’t think the ap is still on but I will double check that when I get back on
I haven't seen them do that yet for the in sim store but might be good to check on external websites. If you get it from out of sim you also can add weapons but not in sim version.
On the keyboard the "Num /" (Numpad) will toggle the spoilers as default. If you don't have a numpad on your keyboard you may want to assign it to another key. I don't know in the cockpit where but that would be much more difficult to press on an off while flying I would imagine.
I can load weapons onto my F-16I & RSAF F-16D versions YES. 2x AIM-9, 4x AIM-120 (or 2 if already using the AIM-9), 2x AGM-88 and the AN/ASQ131 and AN/ASQ213. You have to have bought the F-16 from outside the in sim market place (external websites) to get any weapons though as all aircraft sold in the sim are not allowed weapons on them. This is an Asobo/MS policy.
I like it, I would say it is on par with the default one but I like the handling better. I haven't mastered the default one yet myself so this may be different for others experience. I do know it is improving with updates. Not sure if anything is happening with the default one. Hope that helps
I will have to have a look at this one again when I return from holidays. I think I use auto pilot button on my flight stick and then I cannot remember if there is a NAV button or Vnav so will look when I get back to my flight pc.
Not sure I know what you mean other than I use a HOTAS controls and it allows me to bring it in smooth. I also have an altitude hold button configured to my controls to set it mid flight that allows it to hold the flight level.
I haven't found it laggy yet. You can change some sim settings to best perform on the system you have in MSFS which is good. But I don't think this aircraft has any issues with FPS performance.
The F-16I will always show, the others should remove when you make it zero fuel for that tank, make sure you have updated it to the latest version of file too.
@@BrettPlays I meant they won’t show up, even if I put fuel in them or not, The F16I will show them, but the F16C and F16D won’t show them no matter what I do, I have the F16 off the MSFS store, do you know how to fix it?
@@tylerzippy1482 oh, you got me on that one. I will have to check mine and see if they still come on when full fuel or if an update means you need to add weight in stores to have them. If I work it out I'll let you know. If anyone else knows please put a comment here too.
In the menu on the map page you can press your chosen aircraft picture top left and will get options for liveries, select aircraft and Weight and Balance.
I show how to change the weights for the weapons in the video starting at 2:02 in. If you have purchased this outside of the sim market they are standard. If you have purchased this in the in sim market then you will need to go and get the weapons addon pack from flightsim.to that the developer has released so that they can show up. If you are on Xbox then I am sorry but no weapons are allowed in the sim due to game rating level and mods do not work for Xbox. Weapons pack here: flightsim.to/file/51186/dc-designs-aircraft-marketplace-purchase-weapons-re-activation-modification
I just bought this and I must be doing something wrong. When coming into land as soon as I lower the wheels I just drop out of the sky and if I managed to land it just bounces uncontrollable
@Brett Plays no everything is off. Its like it's the flaps coming down with the gear. The gear comes down then it just looses control. I've been watching loads of videos and have not seen anything like the trouble I'm having. It's like it stalls but the speed is well above 150 knots on approach. I dont know if its because I'm using a xbox controller. It's horrible and I'm really regretting it as it was 28.99gbp
@Brett Plays I've tried everything. I've put in for a refund and they accepted it straight away. Its way to over priced in my opinion and it suffers alot of autopilot tracking and approach bugs like the typhoon.
craving DCS now? Yeah I wish we could shoot and do all the stuff in MSFS that DCS can but have the whole world to fly over to do it in. Would be way cool.
@@BrettPlays I run UUWW F18 Asobo, 55-60 frames per second, without moving, just sitting in the cockpit and looking forward. The same conditions only SC F 16, 45-50 frames per second.
😔I really wish this fighter was available to Xbox players also. It’s literally unacceptable for fighters like the F18,F15 and F14 tomcat to be Xbox compatible over the F16. I really hope we have access to this aircraft soon..
Do you have any idea when this will be available for the Xbox? Great video by the way I really want to get this plane but I only play on Xbox because I don’t have a PC
Yes good question because I’m also on Xbox and I’m a huge fan of the F16 Fighter Aircraft. It’s very disappointing that xbox players have no access to this aircraft. Looks like we will be forced to wait till this bird is released for the Xbox version of MSFS😔
I show that step between 2:00 and 4:20 in the video. You have to have bought it from outside the sim market as all aircraft in sim market have no weapons.
Yeah you need to remember that this is not DCS, it is for flying in a sim that does a great job of creating a representation of the whole earth. And yes it does look great flying around the world from the external view.
@@BrettPlays no doubt at all. Not saying they should have all the avionics, weapons, CMDS panels, etc. but at least modeling the interior a bit more accurately would be good, additionally with a bit better resolution. One example of something simple that appears to be missing is the source button below the HSI to switch from PLS/TACAN/NAV sources. Just my thoughts :)
Did you put the same weights as i did? Also if you buy any aircraft from the marketplace inside the SIm they have all weapons disabled. Only aircraft bought from outside the sim have weapons that can be modeled
I must admit I never actually noticed that. From what I can see no, there is no name tag. Would love to see one like the G39 with the name tag button for it to show beneath the glass cockpit. That would be awesome.
Change the weights like I show in the video at 2:01 onwards. You only get weapons from MSFS aircraft purchased outside of the sim store marketplace (ie Justflight/ORBX) as Asobo/MS do not allow weapons on the in sim store aircraft.
OK reading the manual that is in the documentation folder in this DLC (/Community/justflight-aircraft-f16/Documents/) I found this: 8. ALT FLAPS: ALT FLAPS switch has two modes: NORM and EXTEND. With the switch in NORM, the TEF's are controlled by the LG handle and airspeed. Placing the switch to EXTEND lowers the TEF's only, depending on airspeed (normally below 245 Kias). The ALT FLAPS switch does not affect the operation of the LEF's. 9. LE FLAPS: LE FLAPS switch has two modes: AUTO and LOCK. With the switch is in AUTO, the LEF's works as a function of AOA and airspeed, as part of maneuvering flaps system, and as part of landing configuration. Switching to LOCK, prevents LE FLAPS to be deployed. It might be you have your set for flight or landing at the wrong time? Worth a check.
If you mean they don't fire then no they wont in this sim. If you mean they don't show up? Then that only works with any aircraft purchased outside of the sim market as Asobo wont allow weapons in the sim market sold aircraft.
Oh it's never going to be like DCS if Microsoft bans weapons in the sim, if maybe one day we get a tactical pack like we had in FSX days that allowed us to shoot each other down then the developers could spend more time refining these aircraft. But until then it is a flyable aircraft in a beautiful looking simulator
@Cammy 9r I'm not tho. They failed to implement anything even slightly realistic. They couldn't even properly implement the ILS and the ICP. They don't have much to do with the weapons either. You ever play fsx back in rhe day with the aerosoft f16? This guy could've made something like that and it would've been fine. Not this bullshit.
@Cammy 9r lol I don't even like the osprey. I like to fly fast, high performance jets or small GA prop planes no in between for me I'm weird like that. But nah bro this thing is utterly terrible. His tomcat is alright. Maybe I'm only saying that bc idk what a tomcat is like IRL 🤣 but I did think the tomcat was a decent aircraft. Idk what happend here.
