@@jacobunderwood4957 I do watch a fair bit live but I'm from Australia so the stream doesnt often start until 1am. And I've been burned trying to view the vods on twitch before by ppl spamming results in sections.

They cut it short because of RU-vid algorithms. If people stop watching before the video is over the algorithm thinks people aren't interested and it gets buried. It sucks but they're just doing what they have to to play to the current system. It's also the same reason we never get replays with dead space at the end to hide the results.

Sorry to be annoying, but why was the play so good? Is it that Reynor's changeling manage to trick Trap into thinking that his 'zealot' was holding the entrance? If so that's really impressive considering how quickly changelings are identified and killed.

I was so mad when watching it live... trap played his heart out. But looking back, it really was quite unfortunate for him. He made a fleet beacon so he was gearing up for the late game, which is why he hadn't enough robos/warp gates to defend or counterattack (he was floating around 1.5k resources). Such a sad ending to the best finals this year imo.

You can complain about Zerg when the Protoss doesn't try to counter Swarm Hosts with Fleet Beacon.

@@metalore He specifically got the fleet beacon to build the Mothership, then the zerg needs an overseer each wave of locusts that you can just focus to death. It is an actual counter, it just stinks that the best counter to an early hive tech is the latest possible tech a protoss can go. This is why you see protosses tech into basically everything. It isn't about what tech to choose, its just which one to go first because you will need all of them by the end.

But they've removed everything the community was complaining about: Winfestors with Winfested Terrans? Check. GG Lords? Check. Banelings dealing too much damage to all kind of units? Check. Queens too good against anti air? Check.

Terran had autoturret nerf, hunter seeker damage removed, ppd removed, Bc teleport nerf, thor armor nerf, widowmine visibility nerf, hellbat nerf, terran mech ground and air nerf, Protoss had collosi nerf, carrier interceptor nerf, high templar feedback nerf, zealot charge nerf, warp prism nerf, pylon warp in nerf, tempest rework but worse. Overall Protoss got the worse end of the stick in nerfs.

No, you can see Trap's disapointment at the end. As a zerg player im glad to see Reynor win but man i feel for Trap who is always a top contender but didnt put his hands on the trophy again... Great series !

What you don't understand is that time is money. He has to wait for those locusts.

@@patrickcampbell957 What do you mean? The locusts are keeping protoss contained, if protoss tries to move out it would lose a nexus. Swarm hosts literally help buy time building up economy and tech while preventing protoss from harassing. Even if protoss tries to all in, the swarm host can literally return home in an instant and the cooldown on the locusts would probably be in time to defend. If protoss does not scout nor have the right units to deal with swarm host nydus play, protoss is fucked, it'd take a miracle to defend perfectly multiple times until protoss can tech up and comeback. That obviously did not happen, especially on that particular map that is advantageous for swarm host nydus play. Many zerg players went for swarm host on that last map before. As you can see, the nydus at 6 oclock draws the protoss units out of position. And then return to the 9 oclock position to hit the natural. There's nothing much protoss can do in that situation.

hopefully Trap is one of the greatest and passion hosts won't ever get him down no more raven bomb spam, no more infested terran but broods and hosts are still running

@Wischmopps Locusts are free, imagine units like stalkers or maruaders's attack spawning units that have hp and its own attack. Auto turrets is free structure, but your raven needs to fly into punishable range to drop the turrets. Broodlords spawn free units too but move so slow allowing for base trade counter and the broodlings have very shortlifespan. For swarm hosts supply, the locusts actually do similar damage as stimmed marines of equal supply. Has longer duration than broodlings and turrets, can be launched from way further than broodlord range and the swarm hosts can move around the map in an instant with nydus. Sure swarmhosts have its weakness, but zerg players are always able to prevent that. Not to mention the strength of swarmhosts far out weight its weakness when used properly.

You do realise that swarm host take lots of supply and are expensive. Not sure how people think they are 'free units', its literally their only attack and the locusts are on a timer with hp and the amount zerg can you them. However you trade its always in favor of zerg? Not true bro, if a whole locust wave does 0 damage or dies instantly to 2 storms then the zerg is stuck with a useless unit for another 30 seconds? Legit that whole push would have been shutdown by like 3 voids killing off Nydus and having a bit of map control. Trap even went for early storm and didn't use it until fighting roaches. SH are also terrible for defence as you can legit just wait for a wave to appear then retreat and wait for it to die then push.

I think better. They play smarter, relying more on reaction while the koreans rigidly run builds and plays.

You know why you dont see this on GSL? they dont do such blatant mistakes else get punished instantly, this is reaction from both sides Reynor get owned by a stargate before warpgate, 50 gas and his spores are 20 sec late. Is Reynor or Trap rigidly following a build? KR still better than EU but zerg OP

As a zerg player, I also am not the biggest fan of abducts. I don't think the nergy should be 110 just because vipers are so expensive, but I do think something needs to be done about it. I don't like watching late game armies, like skytoss carriers and motherships being pulled into 25+ corrupters. Its painful to watch, and feels entirely unfair. Its hard to say tho, because without it, I feel like Zerg wouldn't be able to win late game...

@@EmuSnacks Outside of preventing double Abducts, I don't see what can be done about it. Unless they nerf is so it can't yoink Motherships/Colossi/Carriers/Bcs? But then I I feel it'd be too much of a nerf.

Maybe actually put the timer on the ability instead of using energy. Like Tactical Jump and Yamato from BCs.

@@rakashaagain I think it's fair to drain energy from buildings. But Viper should be more vulnerable, they should have less range when pulling unit and Zerg player have to concern whenever they use Viper to trade. Seen though the whole game Reynor keep trading effectively without losing unit and Trap can't do anything about that.

Terran looses 40 scv but still wins game vs 80 drones zerg (and does it with rines) But that doesnt count ofc.

12 Workers dead at 5 minutes should end the game. 40 SCVs when armies are huge and ecos are actually rolling not so much. There's a reason Zerg has won 8 of the 11 premier tournaments this year, including DH NA, DH EU, GSL, and Dreamhack Finals.

the guitar intros are pretty horrible I agree lol. It just sounds so cheap. I like how GSL does player intros. It sounds much more professional.

@Dole Pole I did tend to notice that in some of the games that trap lost, he didn't have his whole army with him or they were spread apart weird. It could of been he was afraid of Reynor ling run by or split of units attacking his third base most of the time. Maybe Reynor knew that and he capitalized on that. Also Reynor knew trap wasn't a timing attack type of protoss.. he took that to his advantage.

Because almost every series for a year and a half has ended with a zerg victor. Even when it gets close, it feels like the protoss or terran is just tightrope walking to get to the end. They may make a few good steps here and there but nobody gets to the end of the tightrope, especially not consistently.

Yeah, but the best player this time is Raynor, before that is was dark, before that it was serral, mixed in randomly is rogue and soO, and every now and then scarlett shows up and takes a series. Stats, trap and zest are the 3 best toss and they have won exactly nothing all year. Neeb won the NA masters in June, so great for him. But that's NA. Out of the 12 big tournaments on Liquipedia, Toss has 1 win, Terran 2, Zerg 9. Spread over 5 players. The other 2 races are lucky to have 5 players that are even considered probable to win a major.
