Word of caution - if you set up thrust reversing, remember to check your prop adapter frequently. My prop adapter worked loose after only a few ground tests of reversing. I didn't catch it, and it managed to depart the aircraft rapidly in flight... In my case it wasn't a big deal, because I was able to dead stick the plane in without issue, and the wayward prop was found, but it could have easily ended much worse.
Another great video. Glad you've got Mike to help with your location production, and guessing a second assistant on drone coverage. Makes a big difference, thanks.
I've just ordered the paint to do my leading edge slats. Great colour scheme. I'll be ready for its maiden flight this Saturday, 23/7/22. Great informative video, thanks. Doug
@@RCGirl Once you understand the basics, which you obviously do, the thing to do is fly, fly, fly. Turn SAFE off and push the envelope. Stay with a given plane until you master it. If you have a bump up, which you probably will, take the opportunity to improve your skills in doing repairs. And don't forget to have fun!
This plane is cool, the foam production have now a few fun plane that change from usual trainer. Could be slow and chill or a bit faster and do some good figures. That Great Thank you sharing is this and have so fun doing your vids And Mike know how to fly that's cool ! Now made a scenary with trx4 come from bush to plane, fly and come drop him few things he needs to go back to bush. Great vids ! Cheers from France 🇲🇫
I liked the headlights on it but the lights on the wing tips could be brighter. I really loved the hinges on the wing I have big time problems putting on my landing gear just like Brian Phillips. Going to fpv mine just waiting for the funds for the DJI stuff 🤗 Thanks for the videos have fun stay safe 😜
Absolutely great video! I just got into RC aircraft this last week. Bought the Super Cub S2 for my first plane. Glad I found your channel and have subscribed. If this is the Skypark area I think it is, I used to fly in 1:1 scale planes with my father from the old airport that the area got it's name from back in the 80's. My parents still live in the house I was raised in about 5 miles from here. Great stuff! Thank you for your hard work. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I bought a TTE last week. If I may-a dead-stick landing refers to a landing where the airplane has lost power. Having the motor at idle does not make for a dead-stick landing.
Alternative process, two to three light coats of polycrylic with a brush, spray prime, sand, spray prime, sand as many times as needed for finish. Then spray primary color. The polycrylic protects the foam from the spray paint propellant that destroys the raw foam.
That's what designer Matt Andren wanted it to do origionally..high lift wing w/slotted flaps, only about 3 pounds, so thrust was close to weight, would only do 45 mph but would take off in it's own length could climb like a lost balloon.. I love confined space/BUSH STOL w/mine all year round.. SO capable.. 4S + the 3 blade prop gobbles up sky quick!🤠
Great video, awesome plane. Check out some Flite Test foam board builds for cheap planes to build and crash. Good way to expand your skills for the real models!
My first flight with a brand spanking new e- flight foamy valiant 1.3meter.... I was so so so very nervous. You could not have gotten a stick pin up my ass with a jack hammer I was so puckered. I was actually exauhsted afterwards from being so damn nervous. It was not enjoyable but I got the plane on the ground safely after flying the plane and to me that was a major milestone. I was very happy and much less nervous next flight. I still have that airplane and it's still flyable.
Ya there's no doubt the Timber Evo is sick.(kinda a Draco little bro) You gotta get out of safe, your missing out. Stick with one of your trainer planes I've seen you get, and just do it. lol Throw it in experienced mode and go>
Yes, the price is right and the plane seems to be fun to fly. But I'm still flying with JR and 72MHZ technology (probably the last one to do so in USA ;o) Also I like wood/balsa feeling over the foam technology. I did upgrade all my planes from gas to electric (no more cleaning after flying) but I still have many JR 9 channels receivers that I don't want to trash.
Love this plane would like to have one especially with the float that come with it. I live by the water so that would be great to have one if I could find it provide the price is right. thank You for the show.
I love your video's. I'm wanting to get first plane and am torn between the Turbo Timber Evolution and the Carbon Cub that you also reviewed. in your opinion, which would be best for a beginner?
Ordered!! I have the UMX Timber Turbo which flies amazing and the Timber Turbo Evolution looks like it has the same flight characteristics, should be nice and relaxing but capable of some nice loops and rolls.
Hi .so I have a futaba radio 16IZ . To use this plane . I’ll just have to put my futaba receiver in the plane . Then I’ll be good .sorry for dumb question . Been out of the rc flying for over ten years . And just getting back into it . Thank s 😊
I would put your reversing on a 3 position switch and set middle to neutral, i messed up and almost crashed my timber x by accidentally hitting the wrong switch. Just a suggestion
Nobody is talking about the steel driveshaft? Am I crazy or what, I am pretty sure I saw on hobby horizon that they are coming with driveshaft in steel 😮, this is crazy, is it a mistake, i dont get it, I am running to the store as soon as they get this golden nugget. The only thing missing right now in this series of axial 1/24 is a nice 6x6 😊
Hello, I recently theTurbo Timber Evolution. Have an issue with the flap/elevator adjustment. I set system as per user manual. However the airplane , still have tendence to nose-up. What do you recommend, reducing flap deflection or increasing elevators nose-down effect? Thanks for your help. Regards
@@RCGirl Yes I follows the instructions from manual. 15 % pos down at flap in TO pos, and 30% with flap in landing pos. My thinking is that as airplane now has slats, may be need little more.
Great plane. Still shocks me to watch more than a few American youtube vids with pilots firing up their prop while they are standing in front of it! In Australia all clubs train you to never be standing at the front of the plane once its armed - and to test the throttle while being in front is just… unheard of! Love your vids - be safe :-) No offence intended.
Really love my TT Evo. Nice flying model. Just one thing to keep in mind. Those landing gear springs are a real weak point. Very easily bent or break. Also been a struggle to find replacements. HH finally showed as in stock, might be sold out already.
Hello, please , can you confirm me , the flap /elevator adjustment with the Turbo Timber evolution ? I tried the adjustment indicated in the manual, but the airplane trends to nose up. What is better, reduce the flap deflection or increasing the elevator nose down adjustment? I saw that in your video you did not mention the transmitter adjustment on this particular. Thank you for your help. Regards
Reduce throttle. Elevator should be adjusted at landing speed. Lower the flaps and set throttle to maintain altitude. The elevator will control speed. Once the elevator is trimmed for a slow speed a little faster than stall, use the throttle to control sink rate. Small adjustments when landing
Hallo Turbo Timber evolution Gemeinde. Ich habe mir gerade das Model gekauft. Eine Frage??? Was ist mit Drosselschnitt -130?????? Kann mir bitte jemand helfen??? Im voraus danke ✌️🍀
Which cub model would you recommend for an experienced beginner? I used to fly gliders/electric/very little nitro, but its been years! I just dont wanna pick something that ill outgrow too quickly. Is the carbon Z cub 2.5m in the beginner/intermediate with SAFE?
@@RCGirl I’ve flown a real one, pretty spectacular, if you ever do, would be thrilled to hear how you like it, light be worth the buy :) thanks as always
Very expensive. I love my HKing - Tundra. Also has reversing and comes with floats too. It also has an optional candy drop I fill with fish food and feed the fish when I fly at the lake
I also have the Tundra and it doesn't fly nearly as well as the Timbers. The price is good and the candy drop is fun (I drop parachute guys for the kids), but quality of build and flying characteristics aren't even close.
Boy, the RU-vid algorhythm takes a big fr0sty dvmp on my genre of copyrighted music flight videos and my channel by comparison, and it's 2.5x older. Yeah, RU-vid can go Ffff itself.
