Glad y'all got some of that rain as well. Praying for some cooling temps and more beneficial rainfall from this storm, and praying that all in the path remain safe. Love these potatoes. In fact, I pretty much love every form of potato and cheese combination. Not really sure of the difference between scalloped potatoes and au gratin, but I'll take a healthy helping of either one or both. Appreciate you sharing that fine plate of food with us and talking to us about the work that goes into it.
to @bowed, to answer, genuine scalloped potatoes has no cheese, au gratin does plus has a breading topping thus au gratin. Hope that helps clear it up. I'm like you, I'll take either but without the ranch powder.
I had a good supper I had purple hub peas and fried okra fried green tomatoes and fried squash and cornbread it was so good it all was out of the garden my sister's garden I love my vegetables I'm going to make those potatoes too you're making they look great ❤

You just upgraded your scalloped potatoes, scalloped is in a cream sauce. Add cheese and they become fancy Augratin potatoes. I like the cheese and onion in mine too. I'd also like the touch of ranch in there too. Yum!! Pork chop scallop is great too. Brown off some pork chops and set them aside, make up some scalloped potatoes in a baking dish and place the pork chops on top, cover and bake about an hour at 350°F. Till potatoes are fork tender. Those pork juices work their way down through and into the potatoes. Wow!!

That all looks fantastic! Love Boudin! I perfer american cheese also. Never used ranch in scalloped potatoes but I'm going to add that next time. And we love cornbread salad with bacon and cheddar sprinkled on top. No layering here either. Too much trouble and the flavors don't meld as well. ❤

Yes love the Ranch Powder and it also comes in spicy now. Bet you and Buzz will like the spicy. I do. It seems expensive but think how many recipes of ranch dressing you can make from one container and so many other uses.

It's made with rice, spices and you can get different types with whatever meat. Pork, shrimp even gator. I love the pork. It's all cooked down and put into casings. You can grill, boil, bake or fry. Slice and eat. Casing and all. Yummy! Order it online if you can't find in the stores. Just Google it.
