I had gotten a spam call a few months ago and the lady on the other end was asking about a Chase bank account that I supposedly had on file with the "company" she was representing. I told her that's really weird because I don't have an account with them or Chase but she insisted that it was correct. I proceeded to then ask her if she was from Delhi or Kolkata. She paused like she'd been caught and she didn't know what to say so she just kept repeating herself, insisting that I have this Chase account. I imagine her goal was to pull some form of the refund scam but I hung up and blocked the number before she could do anything else. I always try to mess with scammers a little when they call me which is very rare these days.

Always call the bank and verify the information or use another device like a tablet or a cell phone and check your bank not on the device that they have you on because they’re changing the information
