I want to cry.... tears of joy🥳 and frustration🤬 I am new to SNC. I saw a lovly die cut card on a CAS Facebook group and wanted to recreate it on my SNC. It was a card base with a "torn'' image set on a diagonal with lattice welded from the "torn" to the edge of the right side opening. Last weekend, I literally spent 10hrs trying in vain to mimic, then in my frustration - accidentally deleted all the effort opening a new workspace, not knowing the desktop version doesn't allow multiple projects to be open at the same time like Silhouette. 😳 I was gutted.😭 Spent this morning on RU-vid searching for anything to help me use this expensive machine the way I need. ❤and🧡bam❣ 💛there's💚your 💙lattice💜tutorial🖤 THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I want you to know just how much I have learned from your tutorials! You are amazing and I totally appreciate you! Thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful talent with us! It took me a couple of tries, but, I was able to get my lattice templates all set up and ready to use. I am now experimenting with other shapes besides the heart. Thank you! You inspire me!!

I am brand new to Scan N Cut transitioning from my die cutting machine and have quite a few 3 tier layering dies, which I love. I am sure I will be able to create some multi layered versions of my dies in my new machine applying this method, thank you. My mind is buzzing with how much more versatile this machine is compared to a die cutter

I love your video..I was ready to put my ScanNCut aside and use it when ever but I am sure I will use it quite a bit. I am a quilter and I can see where I can use some of these shapes in my quilting.

Wow! Fantastic tutorial for creating a lattice type of die cover plate. I was able to easily replicate this process to create a stripes type of die cover template. This takes the capabilities of my ScanNCut to the next level (and saves me lots of money by making my own cover templates). Thanks so much.

Thank you for a fabulous video. You are a star. I still haven't plucked up the courage to play in Canvas yet - only using pre-made cutting files, but I will get there eventually, i hope :-) xx

Brilliant as always Ashley. Was just trying to figure out how to distribute shapes evenly to make a Canvas version of a die cover plate. Thanks so much! Maybe Brother will add that as an option in a future update.

you are amazing on the SNC. I have a question.... could you have taken your square lattice and resized it to fit an A2 size card or would you have had to begin again using a rectangle basic shape?
@applelover53
@applelover53 6 лет назад
Hi you could do that but you will distort the diamond shapes, it depends on the look you want so i would start with a rectangle the size you require and follow the tutorial. hope that helps

Fantastic tutorial but I'm having trouble with my mat iv only used it a couple of times and the sticky has gone is there a way I can get the sticky back and also can you tell me what I have done too lose the sticky so quick love all you videos so keep teaching us if it was not for you I think I would have sent my 1200 back because I did not have a clue so please keep posting thank you
@applelover53
@applelover53 5 лет назад
The mats do loose the stickiness, you have to make sure you keep the plastic cover on when not in use, only use paper or card that is a little bigger then you intend to cut, its no good putting a piece of A4 card on the mat to only cut say a 2 inch square because you are using the sticky on your mat unnecessarily if that make sense. You can bring them back to life by either running under a tap and leaving flat to dry, use a non alcohol baby wipe or restick it i have videos on my channel about that.

I had your video going and opened my canvas program so I could go through step by step with you. All was terrific until I tried to group several, and an error came up! It said "Operation not allowed. The grouping of objects already includes 3 levels of grouped objects. (E90003) So then I tried to continue on anyway, and just got all messed up. I will try again on another day. For right now, I want to make my daughter a Mother's Day card, and thought this one was very nice. If you have an idea as to why this is happening, or have a solution, I'd love to hear (read) it!
@applelover53
@applelover53 4 года назад
In canvas workspace for computer you cannot group more than three levels you get an error message so basically you would have to select all your design and keep in grouping it and then carry on however if you have already saved your project you will not be able to go back and amend it you will have to start again

A woman AT the brother call center told me Canvas isn’t compatible with Apple. Eyeroll. I told her 80% of RU-vid SNC users have Apple products, and she just kept repeating the same sentence, above. Waiting for a callback all week for escalation.

ScannCut canvas workspace online has always been accessible to Mac users, the workspace download program has only been available to Mac users for just over one year. So her information is out of date if she needs confirmation tell her to refer to my RU-vid channel LOL thank you

Hi how do I create a wider border on an svg imported file? It’s a lattice pattern in the shape of a heart but when I create an offset shape it won’t let me weld or subtract from it I get an error message the selected objects include open paths or self intersecting paths (E92001) thanks Mel
@applelover53
@applelover53 5 лет назад
Without seeing your file im not sure what problems you are having, but if theres nothing wrong with the file you should be able to creat a duplicate and the use the offset feature. Or you could use inkscape which is free open your svg in that programme, create and duplicate and use the Path Offset feature. I have an Inkscape playlist on my channel with videos ive done in the past. thanks

Hello Just a wee question, my Canvas Workspace shows the offline version, which makes it difficult to follow. Is there a way I can view it as online like you are using. Hope this isn’t a dumb question. Appreciate your tutorials. Wendy from New Zealand
@applelover53
@applelover53 5 лет назад
Hi sorry but I don’t understand what you mean, there are now 2 versions of canvas, an online cloud based version or a downloadable one which you install on your computer . They both work the same but look slightly different . There is a link to the online version on my website on the SNC page
@wenzbee197
@wenzbee197 5 лет назад
applelover53 thank you for replying, I will check. When following step by step it is harder as a complete beginner seeing a different view, but I will persevere as it’s so much fun. I do appreciate your tutorials, this is the first time I’ve tried something.

can we upload photo's from adobe or gimp photo editing programs in brotherscanncut program?
@applelover53

You can upload JPEGs into scanncut canvas to autotrace but the software isn’t that brilliant to be fair you would have to try it and see what results you get
