Wow you are just brilliant at using canvas . I love everything you do. I am very new to using my scanNcut but am inspired by your knowledge. Thank goodness for you tube.
Thanks a lot again, Ashley. Maybe I have a tip for other iPad users for the font. As the ‘Brother ScanNCut Type Converter’ cannot be installed on your iPad (I have the ScanNCut CM840), you can make the word you need on your iPad in Pages. When you don’t have the font installed, you can use the iFont app (free download in App Store) to convert and install the TTFfont of your choice. With the word in Pages on your screen, you make a print screen and cut it to only the word. This is a PNG-file. Then I used the online app Convertio to convert it to a SVG file. And that I would be able to load up to CanvasWorkspace. I hope that you understand and have some use for it.
The font converter isnt available any more, brother discontinued it about the time they brought out the CW for computer. great tip about Ifont thank you
Hi i think probably because its not needed now we have canvas workspace for computer, because if we use that we can use any font installed on our computers so the converter would be redundant.
Hi do you know I love this letter card. Everyone s had one this year. But it takes me ages. That letter is all in front or at the back. But how satisfying when it comes right 🥴x

ohh i like that one Ashley.. Love seeing your videos . Just ordered the scoring tool and mat from Phil Bridgewater in the uk so hope fully that will speed up my box making as i am not a great fan of the dash cut line for boxes.
I love, love, love this project. I have watched this tutorial over and over to get the hang of it. I finally minimized this window and canvas window so I could do the steps as you and Yeah, I finally did it. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and taking the time to make this and other very detailed tutorials. My problem though is that I used the letter B and I had to duplicate, copy, subtract, use the inside of the B, offset it, punch it out of the offset B. I am sure there must be some other way that wont require all the steps I took to get the inside of the letter B punched out from the offset. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi sometimes when letters have middles, they need to be subtracted first from the outer part before we can work with them. Open your B on your mat, select it and see if you have an ungroup option, if so the main part has to be at the back and in inner sections have to be on top. Select everything and hit subtract, it should look the same but the inners will have been punched out of the main part. You can usually tell if its worked by filling it with colour if the letter fills and the inner bits are clear its worked. then just carry on with the tutorial and it should be fine.
Hi Just wanted to say a big thank you for the video explaining the above it really did inspire me and helped me to create the attached card which I thought you might like to see. sorry cant work out how to send picture. I had seen something similar done with the cricut and then couldn't find it again which was when I found yours, as always concise and clear. I did subscribe to your blog but for some reason I no longer receive emails despite, subscribing again not sure where I am going wrong. Now about to try a letter b using the rose. It took me days to work this one out so we shall see. Very enjoyable none the less. Many thanks Lynda in Spain.
Hi, I was looking forward to a lovey day of Christmas card making but it's all gone wrong! My first 3 cards were perfect but since then I have wasted so much card! I don't know whether I'm making the card too sticky (I use the stick and spray on my non-sticky mats) so there's no flexibility but then the card is still moving so is it not sticky enough? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do other people have days like these? Also, when my machine has cut the design and goes back to the lettering, it doesn't always go back to the right place. Any ideas as to why would be much appreciated. Thanks so much. Stay safe everyone.
This is such a brilliant video- however i just could not get my individual flowers to ungroup. Tried in canvas (both online and off) and in SCAL- couldn't do it. Is it because they are windows programs?
Did you use the same flowers as are used in the video? I’ve not heard anybody say they could not ungroup them try a different flower design and see if it works thank you
fabulous video - as always.I had great success with letter S but when I do an A how do I get it to cut out the middle of the A when I do the offset layer please??
@@applelover53 I'm not sure what you mean when you say.... the box that says around the outer edge only is unticked. Do you mean tick the inward box, instead of the outward box?
I love this video!!! Being new to scan n cut and canvas, I just want ask how did you cut the dark purple part separate from the lilac portion? Did you save as 2 files then send to the machine? Thanks Dee
So on the video on the Canvas workspace you used Lilac n Purple to show the 2 separate features of the letter. But the feature card on the youtube the top of the S is white and the back part of the S is yellow. How do I cut those separately? I hope it make sense now. Thanks Dee
Oh sorry i understand now, i just cut them in different coloured cardstock as i said in the video, the yellow one would be the offset and the white is the smaller one.
I just adored this card and wanted to create one of my own using your technique. I followed you steps. Became frustrated at the part where you edit and remove the leaf area. For some reason I was unable to edit it or even group that flower. It is a text font. do you have any advice for me.
Hi you may just have to zoom in really close to be able to select parts, or make it bigger first, edit it and then make it smaller. the only other thing i can think of is it could be the browser you are using. try another browser and see if canvas works better for you.
I am working on an pc computer and still unable to group or ungroup these flowers. Any thoughts? I can subtract & divide yet can’t click on group or ungroup. Any thoughts.
Following step by step... but it won't weld the flower outline to the letter... it says "cannot execute this operation with an open or intersecting path (ErrS07)
I thought I'd followed your instructions exactly, but when I came to the end I'd lost the measurements so it wouldn't tell me how big my letter was. 😢 No idea why!!!
If you have got both your letters stacked ontop of each other you have to select them both and right click and make them a group, then it will tell you.
Come across a problem can you help , I have done a letter S with the rose and fern leaf, a bird on the left top corner and also one sitting on the top of the inside curve but when I try to create an offset line I get the message not allowed selected objects include self intersecting paths (E91001)
