This is a start to finish time-lapse video of me scaping the Juwel Rio240l aquarium.
I'd like to give a huge thankyou to George Farmer, the Geordie Scaper, MD Fish tanks and Green aqua for all the knowledge and inspiration so far.
I used the following.
Alphagrog (in media bags to build height)
Denerle scapers soil approximately 22 litres
Seiryu Stone (Mini landscape rock)
Hugo Kamishi wood
Gnarled Manzanita wood
unipac sand
Hugo Kamishi decorative gravel
Seiryu stone chippings
Filter floss to fill gaps and stop soil migrating.
Check out the previous video for a full rundown of the tank, equipment and materials used.
Feedback really appreciated. I'm new to creating content but will add regular videos in this series and will improve the quality with time.

thank you for sharing! how did you keep the send from disperse at the path area?
@naturescaper201

I used filter floss/wool wedged in the gaps in the rocks. This way the soil could not get through to the sand.

@@gabiarad82 so I have bags of alpha grog under the sand which helps it grip. You will need to add a little more from time to time too

Hi there, am looking at buying one of these and wanting to swap out the internal filter for a canister type, which one do you have in the tank and what is it rated for? (Planning a Cichlid tank so am going to need a lot of filtration) Thanks! :)
@naturescaper201

I'd recommend an external filter with a turnover of a 1000lpr at the very minimum.

@@naturescaper201 okay cool think I'll just bite the bullet and go with a fluval Fx4 because I'm afraid the 407 won't be enough... Thanks

Hey, what light do you use on the tank?
@naturescaper201
@naturescaper201 3 года назад
Hi Bradley. I'm using a Fluval Plant 3.0. It's been an excellent light but I'm probably upgrading to a Twinstar soon. For the money though, the Fluval is great.

@@naturescaper201 I’m confused, i can’t choose between 120*50*53 or 150*50*52 What is your opinion please
@naturescaper201
@naturescaper201 2 года назад
@Mohammad Matar honestly they are both really nice sizes to work with. I would base your decision on the space the tank is going in. If uou can fit the bigger tank easily I'd go for that. Just remember that a bigger tank means more soil, hardscape and plants so the cost is greater.
