WELCOME TO BOLSOVER!
In the East of Derbyshire, there's a thin slither of land extending from Worksop and Rotherham in the North to the outskirts of Nottingham in the South. That land is known as the district of Bolsover.
We begin our journey around the 16 parishes of Bolsover right in the middle around Chesterfield. To get things going we're in the very rural Scarsdale hundred at the very top of a steep hill which overlooks a valley. In places that hill is quite dangerous and there are signs that say so but provided you're careful you can drive down it!
There are two main villages in this one - one that gives the parish it's name. There's a whole host of old buildings including two churches, one that's no longer consecrated, there's also two war memorials and two schools one of which you can be quite cheeky if you want to be by using it's playing field as a footpath!
I highly recommend checking out both pubs in the main village too, one holds a classic car night and the other is popular with bikers. You need quite a big bank account if you want to live here though with the average house price well over £600,000.
One of the most stunning buildings in the secondary village here would be Palterton Hall which has a fabulous view across the valley and it's a view that you can enjoy too through the lens of my GoPro. Welcome to SCARCLIFFE.
