@@pastoobagelman4107 the fact ash didn't know ray wasn't an oc means they are either REALLY REALLY young about 20ish or that they were what's called a "hanger on" meaning they weren't really a fan. I'm going to hope ash wasn't lying and say that they are just really young.
the reason i say this is because ray was in both the fleetway and archie comics quite a bit even if the main stream only just now knew about him he's been around for awhile and if ash really was as big a fan as they say they are then they would have had the comics at some point.
@@Nightout88 you wanna talk about fake fans? check in the mirror if just not knowing something counts. both Mighty and Ray have existed since the 90s, making their first appearances in the obscure arcade title Segasonic the Hedgehog. also, it has been made clear more than once that Ash and Mirror Matt are both very young, around my age in our early twenties lol
Watching a livestream from MatPat is like listening to an old person tell a story, waiting for them to get to the point, only for them to have a heart attack before the end and realising there was never a point in the first place...
@@coolerrocket Ash was hired as a gtlive Producer, aka their actual job is gtlive assisting-whereas Mirror Matt's initial job was not supposed to be gtlive stuff (he's got a degree related to film and was intended to mostly help in food theory) but MatPat and Steph realized they needed someone behind the cam (since they relocated and Chris + other employees that have helped are still in Cali) Mirror Matt still pops up sometimes, and for added chaos sometimes MatPat and both figment are all in a vid together and it's peek chaos!
as soon as ash started talking abt the ai generated scripts, i knew they were talking abt snap cube. i've binged the voice-over videos so frequently, i absolutely love it. glad to find someone who shares that love!
I actually used to be one of those "lame" Sonic OC creators as a kid too, Ash. It was pretty fun, but looking back, mine was kinda cringe. That said, it got me interested in creating my own OCs and led to me planning out full stories I'm actually quite proud of. I just wish I could move that to a game format 😅 Maybe one day, people will get to meet my group.
A lot of people start exercising their creativity and artistic skills with fan OCs. There is nothing wrong with that. People who shame budding fan creators are awful.
Mate theres nothing wrong with OCs so never be afraid to bring your oc back, mine is as seen in my icon here on youtube, Concorde the hedgehog and Ive had him for years since Sonic Adventure 2 was released and never got rid of him, i use hime as my online alias nowadays more so but he remains no matter what people say, embrace your oc and your creativity my friend :)

@@marx8183 it’s probably fake, if there was a giveaway then it would be mentioned by matpat in his recent videos, also this account has made the same comment since October 2020
This isn't sonic.exe, However Sonic.exe actually does have several playable versions with very long and interesting stories. As well as a final best ending
@@chsbob9 It's called "Snapcube" and it's run by Penny Parker! There's an alternate channel called "Snapcube 2" if you wanted to subscribe to that too! She runs a series called "Snapcube's Real Time Fandub" which was mentioned here.
@@liahuribe2126 that sounds so coolllll. I used to have one that was a permanent blank flank, trying every little job they could. Not because they wanted a cutie mark, but because they were so happy they could always try new things

Hearing Ash talk about her Sonic OC’s was the most adorable and wholesome moment I could’ve asked for. MatPat, thank you for being so incredibly supportive and uplifting to people, and Ash, don’t ever feel shame in who you are because you’re the only you. I’m hoping to see these OC’s in videos soon! Sonic Unleashed slander. Sure, the beat-em-up night sections weren't traditional, but the day stages strike an amazing balance between having easy routes for newer players and having S-Rankings be genuine challenges for those who want them. The night stages are also fun in their own way, despite not being Sonic-esque.
It's oddly fun getting to brutally destroy every thing as a fuzzy boi when its midnight ._. It's also fun how the game rewards your rank not really depending on time when it comes to night levels, but instead how much havoc you can cause.
I've not played this one but everything I've seen is that when you're not weresonic, the game's actually pretty good, it's just disappointing that weresonic is a big part of the story
Shadow the Hedgehog is a ##### ### ############ and he ###### on my ####### wife, that's right, he took his hedgehog quilly #### out and he ###### on my ####### wife!
20:35 game: starts trying to do its fun spooky stuff Mat: just gonna grab the top bar to stop the shaking forgetting im supposed to be enjoying a spooky game
I think that it's good that you like Sonic Ash, there isn't anything to be ashamed of. As long as it makes you happy and it's not hurting anyone, who cares what people think. I've loved Sonic for as long as I can remember, grew up with him, learnt from him, been inspired by him. There is no shame in it and I think it's great that you were so passionate that you were motivated enough to make your own creations. That's what a passion is, something that makes you want to create something just like the countless FNAF fangames. Never be ashamed for having a passion. P.S. Sonic Unleashed is my favourite videogame of all time. I know I've played technically better games but I love Unleashed to bits and could name 100 different reasons why I love that game but I'll just leave it at this.
@@brogamin179 1. I love the soundtrack, the way it captures the essence and feeling of each location in the world is amazing. I also love the main theme Endless Possibilities as I think it represents Sonic really well. 2. I love the opening cinematic for Sonic Unleashed. The way it throws you straight into the story and how it shows how strong Sonic is as he rips through Eggmans robots. Super Sonic has never looked so good and that cinematic still looks fantastic to this day. 3. I love the fact that you get to travel around the world and visit these different continents which are inspired by real world cultures. It makes it feel like a grand adventure. 4. I love the story and how it actually takes itself seriously while still having light-hearted and warm elements to it. It's not as dark as the Adventure games but it's not busting jokes every 2 seconds like later games such as Colours and god forbid Sonic Boom. 5. I love the character and world designs in the game and how each place feels unique and distinctly different. I personally think humans have never been done better in a Sonic game with the humans in Unleashed having a lot of personality and character just from their designs alone. The fact that the designs further complement where they're from is also amazing. 6. I love the boost gameplay formula, it is my favourite style of Sonic gameplay and I personally think that it is done best in Unleashed. The way the levels are designed reward replay and reward you for learning the levels. Once you understand Sonics momentum and the level layout, Sonic has never felt faster. It is one of the few games to really capture how fast Sonic really feels. 7. I love the graphics and I still think that they hold up to this day. While this does come at the cost of the frame rate in certain areas, I think that this game looks amazing especially for a game that came out in 2008. 8. I like Dark Gaia as this final boss and as a force of nature. He is a villain that genuinely feels threatening and world ending and by having human characters in the story, stakes are raised even further. 9. I love the characterisation and writing of the characters and how all of Sonic's friends aren't needlessly shoved in. This gives time to build on Chip's and Sonic's friendship which culminates in the scene where Chip tries to leave but Sonic stops him as they are friends. 10. I honestly like the platforming that is offered in the night stages and don't think that it's nearly as bad as everyone says. While there are certainly sections that are frustrating and features missing (like the lack of a drop shadow), people would have you believe that this makes the game unplayable which simply isn't true. 11. I like that the Chaos Emeralds actually have a significant role to play in this story by restoring the Earth instead of just being there to be collected for Sonic to later become Super Sonic. 12. Finally I love the variety of bosses and enemy types littered throughout the game. A lot of them have unique designs and cool concepts. I especially like the bosses like the Dark Phoenix and Egg Dragoon.
I recently finally got around to watching and playing in space with markiplier and.... well getting degraded by mack (matpat), especially being such a long time lover of the channels, was a soul crushing experience.
I think a comment I came across on the first day put it well To paraphrase the old-meme formatted comment; "I was so caught up in the joy of seeing MatPat that I forgot he can also play evil characters"
Ray is a character in Sonic Mania who uses momentum to glide upwards and downwards. Personally, my favorite character because of how you can zoom through levels with his abilities.
I actual have the same problem as Matt where I struggle replicating sounds whilst being a music person. The struggle of auditory processing, loving music, and being so good at math. The struggle is real!
Also, can we just talk about how SnapCube went from nobody talking about it to suddenly just taking over the entire world with the Live Dubs. Did the algorithm do this, because I just discovered this a month ago and those live dub videos were made YEARS ago!
Just wanted to say I adore Ash’s commentary. I used to watch religiously back in 2017 when I was in high school and recently I got recommended the videos again and I am so happy I came back, I’ve been binging the videos and it’s been wonderful! It’s so nice to hear a real conversation between someone in my age range (end of college) and someone with more established traditional adult life. Hearing about ollie and black mold and a realistic understanding of games not as limitless medium but working within the constrains of human design is so wonderful. Ash seems like such a perfect addition to the team and the vibes are immaculate. So excited to see more from y’all coming up!
People shaming others for their interests like sonic really sucks. Everyone, especially kids, deserve to have their interests and enjoy them without being shamed due to some arbitrary idea of what’s “cringey”
There is a kirby analogue horror/creepypasta out now, and as Dan Cybert said, its editing is phenomenal. i recommend it, its still coming out and its easy to find the playlist the creator put together
Sadly, Jim Carrey said (in a recent interview) he's retiring and when asked if he would ever return to acting he said... “It depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break.”
As someone who has made my own Undertale AUs and non-AUs, I feel the same way Ash does. I am terrified to show my OCs to my friends or anyone really. Also Ray isn't a fan creation.
hey matpat, I'm sure you get this alot, but can you check out a game called "Mario and the music box"? it's a really cool game and considering you love games with lore it just might be up your alley
Never have I ever expected to hear penny and snapcube mention(ed)in a gt video. Edit: Mat you need to watch or play or look at Sega Sonic the Hedgehog or even Sonic Mania or Sonic Generations, Comics, etc. Ray the Flying Squirrel is not an OC lmao.
It is so rad that Ash made Sonic OCs. It's super sad to me that she stopped because of what others thought. In my opinion Sonic has always been cool. It would be awesome to see her do an OC of Matpat as a Sonic character. Just saying.
I enjoy seeing this game make the rounds, it's a lot of fun and brings back that early Creepypasta nostalgia! And now I miss Ben Drowned and want more spooky game content
You know... the "Why do you enjoy this" part of this kinda reminds me of the old "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: Episode 66" creepypasta from way back. I wonder if this game was meant to be a continuation of that.
back in 2010-2015, everyone back then knew i like anything sonic, so during holidays theyd just buy me those Archie Sonic Comics or plushies, but internet does this strange thing where theyd degrade what you like to buy then i grew embarrassed posting in public
