It's really fun to see you drive these slower cars round the ring because of the banter between you and the passengers. Like how all Jack did was laugh and make fun of Ethan. Nice lap!
That photo from Ice Kurve is just hilarious, Ethan is shitting himself, Jack is shitting himself from laughing at Ethan, Misha is focused not to crash into the Peugeot and the guys from Peugeot just cannot believe what they are seeing, amazing 🤣🤣
Madd respect, you mentioning at the end about safety concerns for others, and not endangering them on regular roads vs being alone on the Nordschleife, agree 100%.
This had me smiling all the way through, fair play to Ethan for being willing to go through that and have it put on the internet for the world to see, he's fearless in a different way.
Man this was great. My late Dad would have loved to see this. He had an ‘85 GTI and kept it for 20 years, he loved that car so much. This one hits for me too because not only was it an awesome lap, in the car my dad loved, but like my Dad’s, this Golf was also registered in West Yorkshire (FWA at the end of the number plate, my Dad’s was HWA) - thanks for the memories you brought back today Mischa, and for another great video as always! Thanks Car Throttle team for bringing it to Mischa for a proper ring thrashing 😅
Man was straight up about to have a panic attack down the foxhole, well done Misha for being able to take his mind off it and calm him down. As someone who gets anxiety attacks that made my heart warm.
Relieved that the car made it, you were respectful with the rev limit. Ethan was genuinely that scared. You did so well with the reassurance Misha, nicely done
Misha, truly amazing. Never seen anyone so scared doing mainly, normal UK motorway speeds! Love it. Watched your Pink Puma video yesterday, loved that so much. Can you make a "Shit Box" playlist? Would love to see you drive more basic cars, can see the genuine enjoyment and fun on your face. Loving the banter. Was loving the Bon Jovi vocals. 08:39 Keep it up! Not sure telling someone who is already scared that you can feel the loose bushings on the sub frame, I don't know, helps?? 😂😂
What an entertaining Lap! Hahaha, awesome reaction from CarThrottle. Always nice to see a "slower lap", as it is still scary to push those cars to the limit (without crashing when you dont have ABS or TC)! Greetz from a 50-ish hp mk2 dude :D
To be perfectly honest, Misha's driving is immaculate and that needs no introduction, however: that little GTI took it like a champ! Truly an amazing car!
Hundred percent, given its a recent barn find spruced up and it's an early 80s car he didn't have to wrestle with it really . Would be nice to see it with a bam 20vt conversion & a lsd, good brakes and suspension set up then back to Misha for another blast.
@@blackmore6468 it's a great chassis for a project, had several GTi golfs back in the 90s MK1 and 2 and loved them. There's some real fast ones hidden away here in N.I, 20vt and vr6 conversions etc (I've still got a vr6 lol) but try buying a good one now under £10k!! 😭😂
Fair play Misha 110 through the Foxhole in that box on wheels takes some balls. But equally as impressive is it didnt sound/look like you were fighting the car at any point.
i have used the term "rust is lighter than carbon fiber" since 2000 when i ripped a mk1 cabriolet around the Ring for well over 100 laps in total. ive been in VW for over 25 years, and the mk2 is by far my favorite. i had a mk2 jetta that was a horrible rust bucket, so we wrote all over the body with sharpie markers with little jokes about the rust. "old VWs never die, they just quietly rust" and "rusty nuts" on the rear valance, and "is my rust showing?" and "i know it's ugly, but it RUNS!"
My aunt, Sister Eugenia often tells me a funny story after a couple of pints of port wine. She once met Walter Röhrl at an alpaca farm and he took her for a spin on/in his UR. This event changed her in much the same way this film changed me. I will never look at a bicycle again. Keep up the work and remember, old velour should never be neglected.
Gold! The only one breaking out in a sweat was Ethan! 🤣 Misha, Jack & the GTI just cruised along like it was a drive out in the countryside on a Sunday afternoon! 😂
This lap really highlights to me how Misha simultaneously cares for his passenger's needs if they want to stop, but also is a lovable buffoon who isn't afraid of messing about hahahaha.
I think Ethan would be less scared in a car that's actually meant to go fast. A car that's more capable will give more driver and passenger confidence.
This is amazing! Other poster below has a point - you doing the slower cars has a certain charm to it - especially when you've got the nervous passenger too! Great content from all.
A 1986 Golf2 GTI was my second new car ,, I destroyed the brakes when the car was only 3 weeks old at a club event at Sebring ,, turned them electric blue with chunks of metal popped out here and there...
This lap was literally like me and my wife on our daily commute in my MK7.5 🤣 Also, I felt a little bad for the poor old Golf. Imagine, someone loves you and stores you. Someone else finds you after decades and patches you up. Then you're hauled out to the freak'n Nordschleife! OMFG! And you got a guy driving you who knows his business and the track like few people ever will....omg it's your time in the sun! Your moment to shine! *angles singing* *rays of sun on your body*.......wait, why is the other guy losing his shit so badly???
We used to have Golf Mk2 1.9 (90hp) back in the days with highest marked as E-gear. Lovely and fast car back in the days, love the simplistics dial graphics! Good memories..
Thankyou so much for the entertainment after my day at work. I've watched lots of your vids but never felt the need to comment. Thankyou so much for this one.. It also shows a slow car is also fast in the right hands.
That was lovely. It reminded me of so many things about my old series II Golf GTI. Mine was white as well.(But I had the BBS alloys) The engine sound, plus so many little details I had not thought about in so many years... The brake fade though... That used to be scary! I think this guy knew about that? That was a very nice drive. I wish I still had mine... Cheers
When I took my coilover slammed 1991 Passat 35i 1.9tdi Estate to Nurburgring in 2006, I got it stuck on manhole cover at local petrol station and local dudes in Mk2 Golf GTi helped me with it by putting blocks of wood in front of wheels to drive over. Dudes told me that it was too low for the track. On the way home I was stopped by the police and told it was too low for the autobahn.
Asking Ethan what he’s having for dinner later is brilliant haha. We’re all used to going fast in a straight line, but adding corners and curves makes it such a different experience, because we’re not used to the physics of that
In Bosnia we say, the owner will die before Golfa 2. Another one is, you inherit Golf 2 you dont buy it. There are so many still on road in Bosnia, some are in bad shape but still runing and there are some tuned, some just in prestine condition.Personally know some ppl who are above middle class they still rock Golf 2 for everyday activities, but if they go out for dinner or some more serious business they bring out 2nd better and newer car. Unkillable thing.
Very nice Video, iam dying of laughter. In foxhole his soul left his body and i think a little code brown. And this video shows everbody perfectly misha take care of his passengers. Und sry für mein total schlechtes Englisch.
Remind me with my old days when I brought my 1st car on which was the opel kadett E 2.0 156 hp that was able to jump to 100km/h in 8 sec among heavy Mercs & BMWs commonly used on the streets of my country that time with their proud drivers that time especially the 328i BMWs whom was looking to others with single open eye fully like a king looking to his servant, I was burning the hell out of a*ss, until my friend bought a same year model GTI, I drove it onece in a mountain road and was shocked how impressive it was in terms of power, speed & most important the stability & handling, I kept it then a dream until very long after that (25 years) till I got my brand new mk7 golf r blue color with cash, in between used many cars, mostly practical japanese due to my work & putting up high milage, I enjoyed the hell power and handling out of the small engine, GTIs & Rs will remain my favorite cars, & if I get good amount of money hopefully soon, I will get the 911 turbo s, also small engine with power & figures output of supercars
Going for a holiday at the ring next week with my E46 330D, don't know yet if I will do a lap aswell since I just bought that car and I don't know it too well, and it would be my first time on the ring by myself (I did go as a passenger a few weeks ago). But I will probably have a lot of fun there....
Fair play to that Golf, I thought it was going to let go at some point. Misha you must carry them around in a wheelborrow for jumping in that thing and absolutely sending it around considering it barely passed a MOT!
