Lawn scarification being carried out at a property where the front lawn has shady thickly damp areas, and the rear lawn is in sunshine. Prepare to be amazed at how this makes a huge difference to the scarification process and how much coms out from the thatch layer that has built up within the lawn

Great video as always Shaun. What I love about this channel is that over the few years you have been on RU-vid we have seen you visit many gardens with lots of different issues. It feels me with confidence when I’m working on my own lawn being a beginner that I can come to your channel anytime and remind myself of the correct way of doing things. You inspired me to do my lawn I clean up every step of the way like you do also. Keep all your hard work I certainly appreciate all your efforts as I’m sure many others do. 👍

Exactly this. He is my favourite when it comes to Lawn Channels explains well without waffling on too much and loosing your attention with Ph levels and what nonsense. I’ve got a fairly new build home with a clay boggy lawn so I’m looking forward to using his tips to help make mines lush.

I have had a Bulldog Springbok rake and a pair of their secateurs for nearly 40 years and use them regularly, a great brand and I’m going to get that leaf rake you used. Another great video and that customer needs to invest a bit more so you can bring those lawns back to life 👏👏👏

Can’t wait for a few consecutive dry days up in Glasgow going to try to a renovation on mines to get it looking good for next year. Genuinely thank you for all the tips Shaun, it’s a great watch. Customer should have went for at least an aeration on top of this too but shame they didn’t go for the Full Bhuna would have made their lawn epic for starting off next year.

@LawnRight
@LawnRight 9 месяцев назад
Hi.. thanks.. overseeding is putting down additional seeds to filling gaps. Fertilizing is adding grass food/nutrients to help it achieve prime health and colour

Wow, so much came out from that lawn, I am shocked :) because this looks like a fairly new house/new lawn? Btw, beautiful house, it has kerb appeal for me. I did lawn renovation last Saturday, it took me 6 hours.. Sunday and Monday I was dying 😂 I also applied nematodes. But I am not sure if I can apply any fertiliser now? Like start seed or something? I used compost as a top dressing. Last year, I used top soil.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 9 месяцев назад
Hi.. you can add some preseed fertiliser if you want but if not dont sweat it Just keep it well watered 😁

Mowing and a scarification isn't a renovation or transformation. Those terms are so inflated on YT. Soon a mowing is going to be considered a new lawn.

Hi. I have the same Stihl scarifier, but what is the lowest setting you have ever used? I seem to find 2 is the best, but if you go to 4, 5 or 6 do you need to re-seed?
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 9 месяцев назад
Hi as the blades blunt youll find yourself going deeper sometimes to get anywhere. Generally though I'm always between 2 and 3
@mrchips1795
@mrchips1795 9 месяцев назад
If overseeing this time of year, do you think the new grass will be strong enough to survive once the cold hits. On the fence at the moment whether to renovate my lawn or to wait till spring next year
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 9 месяцев назад
Definitely fine to do y9 till usually mid october..this allows 6 weeks after for it to come through... however... I'd you have shaded areas wait till spring

I usually put a little compost on even if not overseeding. I think it helps to breakdown the thatch further and it certainly increases the recovery rate. Just perhaps 1 bag for 25 m2

I thought you would have to reseed every time you scarify. And that's a good tip to put the machine on one when doing the edges cos I always get bare patches around the edges
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 9 месяцев назад
Thanks.. seeding is definitely advantageous for sure.. I do remember a customer years ago who simply watered heavily a very bare, heavily scarified lawn for a few weeks and it came up lovely

No. I can only advise on best practises but it's a different ball game when folks have to pay so anything is better than nothing
