Not good. Thank you for the Hardwick shot. Worse than I thought, gotta be really bad now at 11 pm. I am near the Walden Fire Station, heavy rain nonstop up here going on 6 hours. Not good.

I have family South of Middlebury. I doubt that they are in any distress. But I can only TRY to Imagine what the (familiar) Otter Creek Waterfall, in Downtown Middlebury, looked like Monday afternoon/evening !!

This happens in Ellicott City MD a lot, rushing water down the main street, cars floating off and they always rebuild, don't know why, seems it would cost more each time and one would learn to go to higher ground but I guess it is because the prices of homes are very low like Rutland VT being about half the price of Burlington and even the property taxes are lower than the rest of VT.

Yes, I lived in VT for over 28 years and flooding has happened in the past but not so bad as this time. Stay safe.

Just think what would happen if that dam is removed? Vermont has removed most of its dams and needs to understand the consequences of their actions, they need flood plains and such. I bet this dam is on the removal list then what!
