It's always a treat to see a BNSF on that portion of the line. Great catch!

Aloha! Here in the 50th state we lost our narrow gage working railroads 50-60 years ago. I cannot thank you enough for your videos of REAL TRAINS! My daughter graduated from OSU in 2022 and while I was in Oregon I got to hear and sometimes see freight trains! Mahalo for all your editing and video efforts!

Wow! This video is awesome as they all are! I really like this one. One summer my Dad who worked for SP from ‘46 through ‘86 was green to the Oregon Mountains and green to the Railroad. One time in ‘46 he said they were doing tunnel work, so they were sitting there and would be for a few hours. Well being a young guy from Indiana and stoked about his job and living the dream of moving to Oregon he decided to take a dip in Odell Lake. “He would have been 22” well, I guess it took his breath away! He dived in and was almost in shock he said from the cold water. (It was early summer) and wasn’t familiar with snow melt water! He worked and travelled over that pass so many times I could not even imagine! In the 60’s and 70’s at the siding where you see the Coast Starlight, he used to get out and cut the family a Christmas Tree and bring it home on the caboose! (That was the shortest Coast Starlight!)

Thank you, Dan, for this video of southbound Union Pacific train on the Cascade Subdivision on 8 March 2024! The snowy scenery was beautiful. The mountains, lakes and rivers added to the beauty. I was wondering what we were seeing at 13:56 in that field. I could not make sense of what I was looking at until you mentioned that it was a solar panel farm. I love your narration of where we are and what some of the points of interest are in these videos.

Thank you Thomas! I myself had no idea what that complex was until I looked closer while I was out there. Most folks really seem to be enjoying the narration which has been such great feedback.

Wow, the drone shot pacing the train, while over the river, is spectacular! The whole video was awesome! Great job!

I agree with you that it was a mistake UP got rid of the wings. And the funniest thing is that the size of the crest is constantly changing on the freshly repainted locomotives. It's obvious UP can't decide what size of logo they want to use. The snow covered landscape is fabulous here. The huge mountains in the background are really majestic. I've never seen a solar panel farm before. That was a fantastic sight. As always your aerial footage is sensational Dan. Without your drone we wouldn't be able to enjoy these wonderful pictures.

Thank Z and yes I think many or super bummed and puzzled why they are doing away with the wings. It's the best design choice they have ever had...

8:18 I guess that if the fire is out, and the locomotive can operate, the people at UP send it off. Another one of your great videos.

Mr. Dan does so well with his footage and his drone hasn't phoned home (i.e. flown away).

I have had my fair share of accidents! Actually have had one flyaway where it never came back. Don't even know what happened to it. There is always risk for sure.

Great video! I like the added lettering on the long hood of the new UP scheme, but I agree that the big shield is a questionable choice. I’m sad to see the wings go.
