💡 Here's a video on how long it took me to obtain my scheduling permit! It really shouldn't take this long, but it took me a long time because of my diploma's delay. Hope you all get yours way faster than I did mine.

I failed my USMLE Step 1 exam 2 times first was 2012 second was 2018 and I lost money on review questions and also wasted a lot of time studying which never helped me .

Mine took a long time to get verified. Make sure to start applications early. Like 5 months early from your eligibility period

Or would the steps + usce be enough? 2) Do you have any idea how long should the USCE be to be considered a "good USCE" for better chances to match? Hello may I ask one doubt what do you mean by diploma here? Is it the final Medical course certificate after completing it? Can't we write STEP 1 before completing our course after completing 1st and 2nd year

I finished med school in January 2021 already and are postponing graduation for electives. I plan on taking step 1 in December. Can I take the exam without a diploma or do I need my diploma already?

This will depend on what your status is at your school. If you haven't graduated yet and are still considered a medical student, then you won't have to submit a diploma.

Hi Janelle! :) I started studying in Sept 2020 aiming to take the exam in December. However, as you can see on this video, I didn't get my scheduling permit till March. Hence the delay in everything. So my preparation strategy went from dedicated mode to non-dedicated mode and back to dedicated mode roughly 2 months prior to my actual test day.

Hello doc. I applied for my step 2 CK exam and for the diploma section, I chose the option which says I'd be sending my diploma along. After completing the application, I uploaded my diploma via ECFMG credentials upload section. I've heard it takes around 45-90 days for ecfmg to verify credentials while it takes them 2 weeks to accept the exam application. I want to take the exam in the next 3-4 weeks. Would they issue me the exam permit prior to verifying credentials? Or would they send the permit only after the credentials (diploma) have been verified?

May I ask about the Step1 application? The last email I got from ECFMG said “Once ur application has been reviewed, ECFMG will notify u of the outcome of ur application.” It has been one month already now. What should I do next?

Hello Doc! Does ASMPH have a good support po ba for those who will want to take USMLE? And is there a good amount of alumnis na po ba working as a physician in US? Bcos I heard connections really does matter when getting a Letter of Recommendations for matching.

Hi! ASMPH currently has a good number of alumni doing both residency and fellowship in the US. But since our school does have a short history in general, the group is definitely smaller than that of UERM. UERM has a larger and a more active group that helps its alumni. (me and my classmates were also able to gain insights from their group haha)

My college doesn't have emswp , what if my scheduling permit is not received by me within the eligibility period ?? For example- i submit my form 183 in August 20 and my eligibility period is nov -feb. So what if i do not get my permit by nov or even Feb , sometimes in the mail system the permit gets lost right so what should we do ?? How can I fix that ??

Do you choose to sent the file by mail instead of using electronic meThod (emswp) to verify your status? Or is there any reason for that? Thank you

In another video you said usmle package included mspe, but here there is no mspe in your application to ecfmg. Is it needed or just optional?

Hi Nina! The MSPE is needed when you're applying to residency. So it's not required yet when you're taking the STEP exams but will need it by the time you'll be applying for residency.

@@iyahvictory7494 Mine was January to June. You don't have to freak out. If it's been more than a month since your verification, then send ecfmg an email to inform them of your status and that you haven't received your permit yet.

Submit form 186 and make sure your school verifies that you are still an enrolled medical student

I confused about form 186 . I have meet notary cam, but there is no notification that my campus will receive email from ecfmg and should verify it? after I meet notary cam, 1 week later I can apply for step 1 in IWA. Does it mean my campus has verified my status without I remind my campus to do it?
