Yes, this has worked well for my hubs and I! It works for us to have some scheduled + some spontaneous. For me, I like being able to prep mentally and wear something pretty, feel sexy knowing it's coming. If not planned, I am more likely to feel tired or like I need to shower, etc.
My husband has a very high sex drive and I unfortunately do not. I wish I did but I believe the medication I'm on plays a big part because I WANT to match that drive. He came to me one day with this idea of scheduling sex and I looked at him as if he slapped me across the face lol but I listened and it's been very beneficial for us. The point is to connect and I find when my husband and I are intimate, we are closer in every way possible. If you've been in a long term relationship it makes alot sense. Were not in a Disney fairytale romance. People are busy and stressed and it keeps the relationship healthy.
I like planned at home date nights which usually end with sex, however for me personally, I wouldn’t like the pen and paper scheduled sex all the time. It makes it feel more like something I have to do, like an appointment, rather then something I want to do. My husband and I have been together for 12 years and have 2 kids, and that would just be daunting to have that on the calendar for me. However , The way you’ve explained it makes sense, so I’m sure it’s helpful for many people!
Yeah I thought it was silly to do so initially but our scheduled sessions have been a life saver many times. It feels so nice as well, it makes me feel taken care of especially
Y- my wife and I are not the best at initiating, and this makes sex happen so much more. We know that it is gonna happen, and it takes the guessing out of it.

I'm a mom of two now, I'm always tired and if I'm honest i would rather sleep than have sex 🙊 but when I try scheduling sex I feel like there's too much pressure for it and then don't enjoy it
