System Sensor Multi-Alert horns in plural, and set to low-tone continuous, can really make a fire situation at a school rather scary. The same goes for those old Simplex, and Wheelock horns, set to continuous, as all 3 were used at the schools I went to as a kid.
What did the white text say when you entered the gym around the 3:15 mark? with it being white which matched the wall and the motion of video it was hard to read.
It's an older EST panel (or panels). Couldn't tell you, but they are shown in some other videos. There are many other extension panels throughout the school.
Simplex Electromechanical horns, And System Sensor Multi Alerts (all on continuous) were the thing, when I was going to school from PreK to 12th grade (1984-1998). The SS multi-alerts came later, and I used to think those were some super scary sounding alarms. ... more so than electromechanical horns. These new buzzer horns, set to code 3 don’t scare anyone.
Tigers9596 that’s weird. At my school the SpectrAlert Classics go off st the same time as the mass’s. And out of curiosity does your school have any masses set on slow whoop? At my school most of them are set on that tone. Everywhere else it does the standard 800hz continues. However the masses at my school are different.
@@dale4231 Every other time I've been apart of drills, that one spectralert goes off right on time. No MASS on slow whoop but we have 2 on 1200 interrupted.
Tigers9596 ok that makes sense. At my school we have MA horns which are the horn only version of the mass. They are mounted up high and have Gentex GXS strobes mounted underneath at normal height. They aren’t that loud though, especially the classics in the newer areas. They don’t even have horns in the classrooms so you can’t really hear the alarm.
