Is it better than Chance the rappers: Coloring Book? I'm really enjoying that right now and Blank Faces should be in my rotation in the next week or so, but I'm hoping people ain't over hyping it like. Don't wanna be disappointed, because Oxymoron was dope to me.
+CIB8282 he had like 1 filler. overtime. the rest was on purpose. he wanted music just to cruise to on there as well. he didn't want it all serious. Remember, he's a party gangsta. Know ya wrong had meaning and he did it with a blues kind of tone in his voice
Well god damn lmao, you boys seem to have struck the same chord that I struck when I was two years younger. Thankyou for your lesson on how to properly and respectively act
In one of Q's interviews he was talking about that and was like at first he was worried and didn't understand it. But then he got it when he noticed how well it worked at the concerts he was doing leading up to the album release date. Kanye really knows how to think about what would translate well for performances and parties.
Sebastian Lopez Yeah. When i first heard it I felt it was not the best verse he could have done but it was catchy and then hearing Q talk about it helped it make more sense. And with TLOP I can see Ye still wanting to make lyrics where he is having fun and not trying to be to deep and this was a great chance as Q wanted to have a fun song on the album.
Schoolboy got AOTY so far. Still waiting for that new Ab-Soul and Isaiah shit. TDE is killing it and they're gonna kepp on killing it till they don't care anymore.
+Graham Gunderson ab soul is not trash. He's had one subpar album. Did you not hear his guest verse on vice city and tHat part remix ? He killed those verses
i swear 1 sub-par album = artist is trash today smh. these days collectively wasnt great, but it still had some good joints on there. i hate how niggas are so quick to rip soulo to shreds now. reminds me of when lupe dropped laser, fickle ass fans
Fantano is one of the most stuck up people i have ever witnessed on the internet or in person. like that guy really is a douche. he studies music so he thinks he knows everything, but he very clearly lacks a good hiphop/rap ear
I can't watch Fantano reviews because he's just so overly condescending while he's reviewing a project. Even with shit he likes he still acts overly condescending
This ^^ Anthony is a perfect example of when your taking a test and you dont know the answers, but your eloquent enough to make it "seem" like you know what your talking about lool
22gopher22 on top of that he admits he's not a hip hop head, and rarely likes good hip hop. Granted everyone ears are different but I like soul music but I. Mainly. Listen to hip hop so I'm. Not going to review soul because it's not my main genre so my review will be slated
I agree with feefo. I aint really a fan of E-40, i don't get the hype. I feel like you need to like him just cause he's an OG and people will shit on you if you dont. E-40 ruined dope dealer for me. Great fuckin album though.
haha i actually think his verse made the joint, it was such a contrast to q's verse and metro's beat. plus his callbacks were hilarious. remarkable! *e-40 voice*
i aint gunna lie the only shit i heard from ab soul was his feat with chance.and after that"lemme put my mouth were u potty" verse i never looked into his music lol
YG's album was really good though. This album was pretty good, but not great. Besides, Fantano's scores are how much he enjoys an album, so it's not really a "this is objectively better" thing.
He kinda did actually. But he says he knows his place in the relationship, and he said the way all the fans quote Kanye's verse made him appreciate it.
But to be fair what did you expect on a song with Q on some "all my bitches independent bitches ........... that part, all my bitches flavour....... that part that part that part that part ayyyy" he brought the same energy Q brought
Yea Q said in a interview that he made john muir right after seeing Straight outta Compton n Ice cube inspired him so much that he freestyled the whole song with the Cube flow.
So glad they got this sooner than I expected. Ok now we need to give them an album to review just to keep them busy. Let's give them Joey Purp - IIIDrops
This has to be my favorite review on DEHH. 4 months later and this is exactly how I feel whenever I put this album on. This is probably the hardest album I've heard front to back.
Ive listen to this about 5 times, Id say I like about 9 out of 17 tracks, I dont think I enjoyed this nearly as much as Oxymoron and Habits & Contradictions, those projects were amazing, Ive listened to it about 7/8 times, its good, I want to love it as much as you guys, but I dont love it maybe I'll listen to it more tho, to see if I can digest it further, dope review tho guys at DEHH, thanks for the early access on Patreon
But Eddie Kane tho... I love playing that part so much. For every 1 listen of this album, I'll probably repeat that part atleast 6-7 times. I'm so in love with the instrumentation on that song. Whew...
yh Eddie Kane is fire, my faves are; Groovy Tony/Eddie Kane, Ride Out, TorcH, By Any Means, Dope Dealer, Blank Face, Tookie Knows II and THat Part grew on me
This review made my heart so happy. Been a diehard Q fan since habits & I agree he's just continued to get better & better. I cannot wait for his next project. Rumor is there'll be another this year & IM SO EXCITEDDDD
Ocean Sage Honestly, Super Crip was the only song I fucked with and that was just because of the beat. Like for real though, the first track?!?! I was crying man lmao. That track had me dying
R Torres I thought it was a fun return to gangsta Snoop. In addition to the previously mentioned 3 songs, I also like My Carz, Two or More, Feel About Snoop, Double Tap, Revolution, and What If. Snoop's been killing his features too recently with Dr. Dre, De La Soul, J Dilla.
Kanye has become sloppy over the years. His mental health and death of his mother changed that man, like it would anybody else, of course. But it's something people are in denial about. His health is deteriorating. His work has gotten worse over time. He used to have high standards and produced a lot of his own work. Now he has 15 dudes making a Backstreet Boys remix. Peggy was right. And clearly Kanye agreed enough to fly him in to work on V1 and V2 (maybe more). So yeah, I love Kanye but he has problems and doesn't do shit to help himself most of the time. He says shit out of context which is how we ended up with the antisemitic shit. He isnt even truly racist but says wild shit during his episodes and people take it as gospel
holy shit TDE... what the fuck is going on there.. First Kendrick pushing everyone out of his way and making the best albums we've seen in hip-hop in a long time (Section. 80, GKMC, TPAB), and now Schoolboy Q with this... And to think we still have Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, and SZA dropping something this year... oh my god... if Ab-Soul makes something better than Control System, TDE will undeniably be the best hip-hop group in the last decade. I just love the different avenues of sounds in TDE showing crazy talent on every lane. The second beat on Groovy Tony / Eddie Kane is definitely the best thing I've heard in so long. Like holy shit that live instrumentation is godly...
The beginning of the video killed me, kinge still don't like 808's and Heartbreak lmao but I'm glad you guys like this album, I love it too, TDE are on top
Nigga where the fuck is Isaiah Rashad? This nigga drops Cilvia Demo, gets signed by best rap record label to date, basically rookie of the year, then goes M.I.A. for what feels like half a decade!
The only issues I got with this album are the kanye verse (the black hippie remix of that part is way better) And overtime could totally be taken off this album
Yall gotta do that Logic Bobby Tarantino mixtape next. Great review though I would say I liked the majority of the album but still trying to give a couple more listens. Half of the album I like and half of it I dont like and I felt that intro was kinda weak but then again the sound was kind of weird on that track. I definitely agree on groovy tony, dope dealer, and john muir those were def the best tracks on the album
i'm not trying to hate because the album is dope in general, but how can y'all say you are fucking with the Big Body joint? that's definitely not West Coast besides the drums. with those wacky stupid horns in it, it sounds like a parody beat somehow Tyler didn't use for the show he has on Adult Swim
I'm just going to watch Hip Hop reviews strictly on this channel. I'm not just saying this because I often agree with their opinion. I like that there are multiple perspectives on the music in an open debate. Anthony Fantano is my dude but it's clear that his taste in hip hop and the nature in which he reviews hip hop albums is absurdly inconsistent. Too often have I been referred to hip hop albums from Anthony's positive reviews only to find out that the album is either trash or not even close to as good as his reviews suggest.
+AlphaXiro most rap albums tbh...like he kinda is "meh" on all the modern classics..except kendricks shit.like he doesn't like j Cole,q, kanye...like he is honestly just a hipster...and that one blonde hairstyle he use to have proves it (jokes) but honestly thoe he just has that "only like the underground" ass mindstate
Tell me why B is criticized for not liking a song in any ScHoolboy Q video. He was roasted to death for not liking Numb Numb juice on his first listen and not liking Big Body 😂😂
