One year ago, my mum was dying from a lung cancer. On the last day, I put this song in the hope she could feel better and in peace. I remember a few weeks before, we heard this amazing song together. She wanted me to record it for her. Now it has become the deepest memory of her I have. Life is short, unexpected and not as serious as we present it. I think we all make a mistake to take to seriously our power and life. It will all go with the wind.

That's a very moving comment, J DJ. I suspect you're hearing a deep reality in the music. At this time of his life, Schubert was already ill, poor and largely alone - though this was one of the few late masterpieces that he actually got to hear performed by some friends. Perhaps he felt that, hearing them play it for him. I wish you many more moments with Schubert.
It's the wanderer who doesn't know where to get strength to go on. Then the beauty of this music, and the great performers come and give him comfort...
..I've been listening to classical music, since i was 12..Maybe,you might not believe that, but i mentally changed immediately, widening my thoughts and feelings, becoming a very revisionistic, discreet and somewise a melancholic person..
Thank you. Very interesting. However it may have been the other way around... You had it all inside you when you started hearing... It may have only just uncovered.
Schtofenbach Yes,i think so too..i was a very melancholic person at all my life,as i was a child, for example,i despited children, because of their infantile and gullible way of thinking and judging (if there even was one) ,despite the fact,i was a child by myself at this time..I didn't want to know, how to write,or how to calculate..i wanted to think,to understand. I think,it's essential for the ,,growing´´,i wanted to success at this time,to build an own spirit..That's what 90% of today's western society isn't able to. Somehow, the music might have enforced me at this time.
In the film, Barry Lyndon, it was perfectly complemented by Handel’s majestic Sarabande from his suite in D minor. In fact, after many years I don’t remember the plot very well but the music, the music keeps reverberating in my mind...
Beautifull! The music, the performance! Without a show!! This trio is perfect! , Hauser and the other show players shoud learn! This is what I call music!
Melancholy beauty. How different pitched vibrations of the air around us - when placed in a certain order… at different tempos can utterly bring you to tears and lay your soul bare. Gorgeous.
Nothing more when reduced to its physical properties, yet so much human history and so many inexplicable spiritual pathways are explored by Schubert and a very few other of the great composers. Their compositions are built upon physical rules of tempo and pitch, yet they introduce us to realms that are reached by no other means other than, perhaps, psychedelic pharmaceuticals.
Is there any music more beautiful than this? I doubt. This will follow you through life, and never will it fail. It stands up, it takes care, it comforts. It will be your partner.
@@grevberg Yes Uno, lots of music out there, but what I mean, really, how many tunes has changed your life? This tune changed my life, and I know exactly when it did so. I played it on RU-vid for my sister and her husbond on New Years Eve 2016. And then it changed my life. Because they loved it. Sometimes it is easy.
Schubert is the greatest emotional musician. This piano trio is such a beautiful melody, The piano part with staccato chords and the legato string part are very contrasting and have the best harmony.
What a masterpiece!!! I came here from Barry Lyndon's candlelit scene. Herr Schubert would certainly approve. I think I can feel his spirit leaning over my shoulder as I watch this. I think I'm going to search for this sheet music and play this on my violin. I can just manage.
Try and find the records of both Trios of Schubert (op.99 and op.100) played by the Trio Janigro (so called after the cellist playing (the best in the world ever) - Antonio Janigro. Listen all the Janigro Records you could find.
Enhorabuena.
