Thank you so much for this. I just bought one from Home Depot, and the instructions were so confusing. Now I know how to charge it, which I couldn't even figure that out from the instructions they gave.
I just got this and man Im impressed. this is definitely more than your average jump stater. it powered my 26in box fan and charged two phones for several hours. i started using it out the box at 3:00pm and its 9.23pm now although its showing 0 its still has enough juice to charge the phone I just put back on. This is just a stress test to see if I can use in a emergency. Im looking for one with more power and more inverters because im sold on these now that I actually see what the fuss is about. I mainly got it for the jump start. air compressor combo and I havent tested that yet but as a mobile power bank its dam good so far. its worth the 89 dollars as a power bank alone so I'm very impressed. at one point it was selling for $69 bucks at one point. If it gets that cheap again I'm buying 2 forsure
@@alessandronarom6751 yea I did. I was just stating it because it still had enough reserve left to fully charge my phone when after it hit zero. the recharge wasnt so bad either it said 36 hours but it only took mine about 20 hours to charge
This is a great unit and provides just about everything I need for boondocking. I purchased the Schumacher 12V male to male charger ($6.00 Amazon) so I can plug one end into the car cigarette lighter and the other into the 12V port on the unit to charge it up while I drive. I plug usb fans into the usb ports to keep me cool at night, or a dual head 12V fan on hotter, muggier nights. Plug an extension cord into the AC port and watch a movie on my small HD widescreen tv and DVD player with only 35% battery life left. Charges cell phones, fills my bike tires, jumps my car battery and it cant get enough!! I will miss this product when its time is finally up. It has been a good friend.
I just purchased this for the same purpose. Especially the usb fan. Just curious how it worked for you in regards to that and if you could recommend a good USB powered fan
hi: i’ve had a unit like this for about 2 years, but I’ve only used it about two times, and it’s been sitting (I didn’t know I should charge it once a month). I’ve been charging it, and everything works as it should, but I only get about 6 hours of run time; is that normal or should I get more out of it? thanks
Mine is working just as good as on day 1. I still think this has the perfect setup as far as features for the price. If mine ever dies, I plan on trying to fix it.
Wow, prices have sure gone up, but I would gladly pay that for a replacement if I had to. I've had it 3 years and it still works perfectly. Actually, I'm charging my laptop with it at this very moment.
Buy from a local store like Auto Zone, so if there is the chance you have to return it, it is much easier. It also supports the local economy. (Forget Walmart even if it is cheaper.)
I"m just about due for a battery replacement. 2019-2023 is about 5 years which is about the max for sla batteries. My tire inflation meter does not register the correct psi anymore as it inflates (used to work perfect years ago), and I suspect it's due to the battery being weak... I guess time will tell once I replace the battery and charge it to full. BTW, if you can find these similar models they are closer to $170 now... $99 was a clearance.. I got mine for about $120-- I think from walmart at the time..
I am on my second one. Same problem again. It is fully charged and the power outlet dosen't work. It worked for a bit, but now nothing. I returned the fisrt one because of it and now the replacement one has the same issue. Everything else works. Any ideas?
Nice review. Only draw back is the lead acid battery needs to be charged at least once a month which is not convenient for a jump pack. The more expensive lithium ion battery will hold a charge for several months if not years. Then you can put it in your car and not worry about charging it all of the time.
@@Optioning Exactly. Only a few, and most don't have any serious inverter capability. The only one I have seen is about 600 dollars that was comparable
@@ayasharahla1205 what gauge if extension cord did you use? Manual said 18 awg or higher but couldn't find any at home Depot or Walmart. Amazon has it but I need it now
@@claddiust I went with the 18 gauge two prong plug. I had to look at a few places, Target/Walmart didn't have found at Home Depot with only 2 or 3 left. Peace. I just brought it inside an it took longer to charge, I had been charging inside of a minivan. Not sure why.
Bro me too. I just bought one 2 days ago. Charged it till it was full then screwed it to the tire set it to 50 psi and when i pressed the set button it made a little tiny noise then shuts off
Bought that dewalt and on the second tire to my cargo trailer it sounded like a bunch of forks in a blender. Took it back to home depot. Not too impressed anyways. It should be using lithium batteries, it takes too long to charge, its super heavy to take around, the light is on the back of the unit and not powerful enough. I think the dewalt is outdated. Great video on this Schumacher I am looking at getting one because of the price and the weight. I don't now why these power stations don't have a lithium battery setup.
Have had this unit for a little over a year. Attempted to use it about a dozen times with it only properly working twice. Spend your money elsewhere. Buy a JNC770R.
I just bought this this morning and I plugged it in to verify it was charged . I tried to jump a friends car during this polar vortex and it wouldn't even turn the engine over . It may to charge longer but the battery display said it was 100% .
I boughtmine last week because the temperature in Ohio was -8 .out of the box it's at 100%, I plugged in a cell phone to charge it went straight down to 72% I could surmise that you probably need to charge it out of the box even though it said 100%.even after it's fully charged my cell phone from 6 to 100 it staying at 72% so I imagine that 100% out of the box isn't accurate
Just bought one today and it also said 100 out the box..in the manual it says something about when it's fully charged it goes into maintenance mode and the % led will flash or something..idk..
Vehicle battery voltage must have been too low. If you leave it connected for approx. 10 min, it will jump start the vehicle, once the battery has reached a level that can take and hold a charge. From experience.
I know this is a year later, just bought this my first was stolen (catepillar), you have to charge it right out the box for 36 hours (standard for these type of boxes). Fully charged is critical because when it does go down it's a lot more charged than partial and out of the box. Also after no use for a month, just charge it fully and your good. How do you like yours now or did you return it?
The sj1289 is garbage! I brought two of them on different occasions and treated them as required yet the battery will read 100% when charged and when you go to use it in a week claims it is empty or nearly so. Neither one lasted past 6 months not a ding on your video, great quality, just a warning to watch out after the warranty expires
I've had this battery for about 2.5 years..the a.c. is loud..the unit is heavy n bulky..ive never been able to figure out the 12v..if I plug a 12v appliance in I get nothing..even on a full charge.after the first year 3 of the usb ports fell apart n no longer work..ive since bought a rockpals battery n I love it..light..powerful..fast charging..only reason I keep this piece of crap schumaker is for a jump starter but not really counting on it to work anymore either..for the price tho? Guess it wasn't a bad deal..living in a van tho I think things prob get roughed up more than usual
I don’t like running a tire to flat, but it would make for a more demonstrative video. I’ll tell you, this thing hammers away though. The pump has quite a bit of power.
