Schuyler vs Nelson, Zondervan, Holman Premium Bibles 

Beautiful Bibles. I probably won't be able to afford any of these in the near future, but they are a still a joy to behold.

Where your treasure is... 🥰 Not sure about Schuyler. People seem to rave about them, but I don’t see people making it their main reader. Maybe because of the price point, like you said they end up saving it and setting it on a shelf. I think I’ll hang in there for the verse by verse goatskin 📖 🐐

I have a NKJV Classic V. by V. Premiere and was able to get it for 110 including shipping a few months ago. Center column references and ribbed spine. Great for reading at home and preaching (haven’t done so). I love it.

Great analyses of these premium Bibles! You really can't go wrong with any of them. But I do agree that Schuyler is a "cut above" the others.

Schuyler and Allan are the top tier Bibles on the market. It’s good to see the other publishers coming out with Premiums in a time when the paper book has fierce competition with apps and ebooks. That being said I think the other publishers are really storing it up. I think the bar comparison is good

I wish that all these people you mentioned here wouldn't make a Bible with at least a 12 point font for people with low vision. 13 point font would be even better. I've been legally blind for 54 years and I've never been able to own a premium Bible because they just don't exist in that format. I do understand that it is a sales thing they need to be able to sell them if they make them. I think they could probably sell them like hot cakes

Once you get used to having "premium Bibles its hard to go back. The best analogy I can think of is thinking what scribes must have felt when working with "Vellum" (animal skin scrolls) vs. papyri (plant life which perishes quickly). Always enjoy your videos. Another great video, Tim! You make some excellent points about the premium bible market. Especially the point about sometimes spending so much on an exquisite, expense premium bible that you are afraid to use it! That certainly borders on the insane. 😄

Always a pleasure to watch your detailed Bible reviews. Even when (for the moment) I don't plan to get a new Bible, I still enjoy watching them. BTW, the Schuyler really stands out as the most beautiful Bibles!

I really love the Premier Collection by Nelson and Zondervan! The green shade of your Schuyler looks so nice. I've never had a Schuyler though. Hopefully someday...

I have a premier NASB Preacher Bible from Zondervan. I love it! I only wish it had a brown option like the Nelson NKJV. I almost converted to NKJV but I’m a NASB fan 😊.

Nelson now has a gorgeous blue, that is outstanding.

My only Premium Bible is the Nelson Large Print NKJV Trimline in blue. Third Edition. The cover is a very flexible goatskin. I absolutely LOVE this Bible. The type is an 12pt type, which I can read...12pt. is my favorite.. but an 11pt. Is doable. I’m considering a purple Quentel for my 78 th. Bd, on September 12th.

Actually I don’t agree with the Schuyler pre-eminence. I’ve two Schuylers and I won’t be buying any more. I’ve got about 10 Allan bibles. Fantastic quality. And at this stage 7 Premier Collection Bibles. Recognise I’m probably in the minority in terms of this view, but the Premier Collection is just beautiful. The feel, typesetting, paper quality, even the smell, is just beautiful. A wonderful reading experience.

Nelson paper is 36 GSM vs 28 GSM in the Schuyler.

@ 8 1/2 Point FONT the PSQ will be almost as big as the CONCORD which I think is 9 or 9 1/2 and it is a very good FONT quite legible and readable if the PSQ is similarly readable it is certainly an ideal size to have.

How much better is the line spacing on the Schuyler vs nelson. Readability of the nelson. Is it spaced as well

The NKJV center column has more narrow columns like the CONCORD I had from 1969 . So I am used to reading THAT way. Holman in their PS LP with end of verse references is my favourite format. NKJV is good if you note verses NOT included in earlier texts like parts of 1 john 5. 7-8. But CSV. NASB. And ESV do that for you.

Are Schuyler Bibles available now with the heftier paper? All I see is 28gsm. Wondering if that was done in older versions.

The question I have is it worth double the price? schuyler bibles are expensive. Also is someone who is visually impaired Bibles of this nature don't get made in large print generally I recently had to have one rebound that I enjoy that I will be posting a video of.

The 28 gsm has kept me away from the Schuyler NASB95 Quentel if they were to have it in 36GSM would be acceptable do you know of any close to Schuyler level NASB95S with higher GSM besides Zondervan?

Here’s something that I have been wondering; perhaps you can answer this. Why are premium Bibles in their current form?. Normally when you buy a leather bound book, such as Easton Press or Franklin Library , it is usually attached to boards. Yet, Bibles are not like this. They are soft and floppy and this is the predominant form of Bibles today-especially premium ones. Why is that so and is there an advantage to this form than others? Thank you and God bless.

The Schuyler paper is now 28 gsm and the Nelson Premier is 36 gsm. I have to be careful turning pages with my Schuyler RSV with Apocrypha. Have you found the new Schuyler paper is as hearty as the Nelson Premier 36 gsm?

Nelson Premier will always be one half the price of the Schuyler products.

If Schuyler ever Prints a Goldilocks Bible which is somewhere between the PSQ and the full-size QUENTEL THEY will have a new market including me.

The new Premier Thomas Nelson goatskin thinline NKJV has raised spine ridges and is really very nice but no, it isn't a Schuyler. It's very good. Printed in China instead of the Netherlands. Don't know where it's bound. Maybe in China as well. Not as worried about that as some since the computer I'm using to make this comment is also made in China, more concerned with quality. From Evangelical bible.com there is about an $80.00 difference between the two. I have Schuyler in the KJV and ESV. I love the quality but Schuyler for some reason didn't include the KJV translators original footnotes like the Cambridge editions do. Can't say whether Thomas Nelson does with the KJV as I haven't seen one but with the NKJV all the original footnotes are there.
