This season instead of a fat bike I purchased the Ice Spiker Pro Performance Folding tires from Schwalbe off of Bike24.com. They are tubeless ready and come in the updated Addix compound.
Here are my first impressions after the first ride on them. Overall they perform as advertised and I look forward to spending more time on them.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback and glad you saved some $. I find it hard to stomach the asking full retail price in North America.

@@ride-paddle-repeat agreed. I am really looking for a cost effective way to get out on occasion in the winter. But let's face it... nothing about this sport is cost-effective. Ohhhhhh the premiums we pay for hobbies that pull on our heart-strings. :). Cheers.

@@ride-paddle-repeat time will tell. Having a friend working for a dealer in town....they're apparently taking new bike orders for 2024....not sure how soon things will be back to normal. Here's hoping.

shame that the 29 tires are max 2,25 wide, wish that they could be atleast 2,4. it has tons of grip on ice, but on wet snow they dig in cos they are so skinny. if i brake them one day i would like to try nokian Piikkisika, they have 2,6 and 3,0 wide tires, would be much better on loose and wet snow.

Thanks for the feedback. Agreed, would be nice to see wider sizes on these but I've found these work quite well in most conditions in Southern Ontario. Further north with deeper snow I could see them not working as well.
