@@Anthony-jo7up I've never really seen that to be the case, in all honesty, so I can't really say I know what you're referring to, exactly. It seems to me that the overtly German/ Germanic tradition goes back quite a bit back further in history and has a more concentrated animus towards it in the mainstream media of today. If you could provide any specific examples, I'd be very interested to know. For example, Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever", the "Star Spangled Banner" , and "My Country, Tis of Thee" (sung with the same melody as Britain's "God Save the Queen") are all readily available here on RU-vid to anyone who cares to listen.. For goodness sakes, even Confederate songs from the era of America's so-called "Civil War" are accessible here on RU-vid with only a few clicks!
@@solar.566 An instrumental of When Johnny Comes Marching Home was taken down a few years ago. It had about a million views then, now it's back at 4. Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition is often taken down, and the National Anthem has regularly been age-restrcted. Not to mention all the obscure stuff and more serious Revolutionary music which can be very difficult to find nowadays, if not also removed entirely. I'm not saying the censorship is as bad as it is with traditional German music, especially the music used by the wehrmacht, but it does exist and is relatively common. It's only the past year or so that I've even seen American patriotic music videos be allowed to reach view counts in the millions without being age restricted or taken down entirely. The only genre of national music I've never seen censored or restricted in any way is communist music. Make of that what you will. I'm just glad Ludwig has been so good with keeping the German music alive. Someone has to.
Why this video got struck for hate speech is beyond me. Its a song that predates the events of WWII, and is a story about German soldiers from WWI singing about their lady back home that they hope to come back to. Jesus, people are so uneducated.

I think it’s just great marching song. By the way according to Wikipedia some motives of this song are from 16th century, but song in general is from 18th century, and it was used by almost all german armies.

Just discovered the Haselnuss song, which is fortuitus as I planted some hazelnuts here in VA a few years ago and they are bearing fruits this year. Kinda alien looking green "flowers" with the green nuts in the middle. Presumably they'll become auburn! Weird how my 51% German genetics pops up in my preferences now and then. Oh, and I married a woman with auburn hair, lol.
