It's a theme that has been done (kinda) before. Dan Simmons used humans as processing power (ergo the computes) for AI in his Hyperion Cantos. Total science fiction, super advanced civilization. ... the humans in the series had it pretty darn good.

Anyone with a cell phone, computer type instrument, plus a credit card is an incorporeal data vessel within the evolving nature of cyberspace...no changing this ever. Present day AI systems have no conscious awareness of this, but the very human controllers of AI can be very manipulative & often are, especially in the commercial/profit regions of AI. The almighty dollar still wins at the end of the day which it has done since it first appeared & will continue to do. ...Personally, I've lived under this type of influence/manipulation for nearly 64 years...commercial advertising in the media has formed & reformed people a billion times...all that's happening right now is basically the same game just slicker, quicker, creating a much more cash-happy retailer experience where consumers keep spending more & more & more!

Zuckerberg is social media figurehead, businessman, hires human brain boxes smarter than himself, throws out a few superficial socially influencing productions, & the crowds swoon in his glowing financial success. Legitimate scientists who are earnestly working at restructuring the foundations of technology hear bits of gossip about him, which is irrelevant to them, quickly dismissed.

Hey Maineiacts I loved reading through this comment. Really cool that you left this here. I was very happy that Warren allowed us to film there and I had to make sure to show them the same love. When the AI mentions Warren that's the real history of the town. And the map at the end when he is walking down the street is the real map. Had to show them as much love as I could.
