"Should've sent a T1000 back to when she was an infant." Epic movie. It's 1973. A naked man comes out of a sphere and murders a baby. Credits roll. Anyone who dares to ask WTF that was all about, must be forced to watch the current franchise in its entirety. Nobody asks another question ever again. Period.
DarkMatter2525 James Cameron in headcanon always envisioned that skynet grew a conscience, regretted it's decision to destroy humanity and engineered the resistance and John Connor himself to defeat skynet because it can't self terminate. It's really awesome if you think about it.
***** why not send back the T-1000 back to the first life forms and kill them off, and then no more humans anymore to kill them , ? and that T-1000 can just repopulate the world with robots after figuring out how to mine and build
Back to the Future time travel rules: There is only one universe. What is changed in the past changes the future. Time travelers somehow are aware of the changes but everyone else isn't. Star Trek Time Travel Rules: Multiverse. There exists an infinite amount of universes. Travelling back in time doesn't change the history of the original universe. It creates a new timeline in a different universe. Futurama Rules: What happens in the past always happens in the past. If you travel to the past, you will not alter history. What you do you already did, but you don't know you did it, because you have not yet done it in the past. Terminator Genisys: All of the Above.
The timeline eventually just collapses as Terminators fill up EVERY - POSSIBLE - MOMENT in the timeline. Also, can the Resistance still even WIN the war now? In 2029, 2034, or whenever?
I just realised... That red vest Jay is wearing - that is the same one we see Rich wear in a few videos. On Rich it looks snug and tight. On Jay it looks six sizes too large. That is hilarious, actually.
You would be right. I dont think any of "his" movies are worth a damn, but he was the lead in punch drunk love, the paul thomas Anderson movie and it's legit amazing. Adam Sandler is actually the best part of the movie
Eh... Happy Gilmore was pretty good. Edited to add: Damn. Didn't realize so many other people made similar replies. Heh heh Also, Billy Madison has its moments.
I guess this means there's a transdimensional Council of Riches, and the Rich Evans we know (Rich C-137) is the one holdout who refused a seat on the council to be a schlubby hack fraud in Milwaukee.
But guys. There is one more important date you missed. 2019. That's the year the Terminator rights revert to James Cameron. Who will then wipe all the movies out of continuity with the exceptions of T1 and T2. Then he will break bank on the merchandising. And go back to "make" his Avatar sequels nobody was asking for.
_"But I thought in Terminator 3, they said she was born in 1959"_ _"Uhh . . . let's move on."_ lol. Yeah, fixing a broken timeline is even harder when the movie writers themselves don't care about it.
This is, without a doubt, one of my favourite videos of all time. It's... it's perfect. The best satire is when the joke is not actually a joke but it COMPLETELY REAL.
Lithium Flower 2017-2029. It was originally a training video teaching Terminators about the different between children and teenagers, preparing them for their missions, as seen in the first 2 films. The film was sent back in time with a T-Lindeloff000 to erase the evidence.
Yeah, 3 put Doomsday back in, and Salvation was interesting as it finally put you into the aftermath of Doomsday. It wasn't great, but at least interesting.
@@AndyJarman No that was 14 where they time traveled to Back to the Future 7 which was a sequel to Back to the Future 1 and retconned 2 and 3 but set up Back To The Future 4 which chronologically takes place right before Back To The Future 15 which was where Whoopie Goldberg and Gold Member have a love child and that love child has a child with Scott Evil and that child has a child with Marty Mcfly's Great Niece from Back To The Future 6 who time traveled to Back to the Future 18 which is a prequel to Back to the Future 3 since it takes place at the beginning of time with Adam and Eve and Marty Mcfly's Great Niece accidentally kills Eve and has to replace her for the sake of humanity and thus creates a causality loop where the Illuminati follows Marty Mcfly and his family throughout history after Back to the Future 14 where Doc Brown's interracial homosexual love child made the Delorean Time Machine into an RV for a Time Travel Family Roadtrip which set up the crossover with the Family Vacation movie which was a reboot of the first Family Vacation where Marty's son had a kid with Clark's daughter and Marty's grandkid traveled to Back To The Future 15 after the Illuminati killed Marty Mcfly in the reboot of Back to the Future 1 so Marty's grandkid could replace Marty with the love child of Scott Evil and Marty's Great Niece to replace Marty in Back To The Future 1 which explains why Marty Mcfly looks like Seth Green and he will be in Back To The Future 19 which is where the love child of Scott Evil and Marty's Great Niece turns out to be Jesus Christ reincarnated as a transgender Autobot in the next crossover with the Bumblebee Sequel.
TJ Twist X-Men is fairly simple. First Class takes place in 1962, followed by X-Men in the early 2000s. X2 comes a few years later, then Last Stand comes a few years after that. Then The Wolverine happens a few more years after that, and then DOFP in 2024. This creates a new timeline - First Class exists in both timelines. In this new timeline, Apocalypse takes place in 1983, then the new ending we see in DOFP in 2024, then everything all goes to shit again, but it's a much brighter future for humans than DOFP, by the time Logan happens in 2029. However, the samurai sword from The Wolverine is present, so Logan could take place in a third timeline, which is what the studio and Mangold want you to think - as there's also a reference to the first X-Men movie. But Logan could have told Charles about that when he returns to the new timeline. Logan's presence in the timeline is very ambiguous, as is Deadpool's place, as it doesn't fit with the tone of the rest of the franchise. Deadpool and Logan take place in a seperate, but not the same, timeline. Origins is so shit, none of the four timelines want it. Origins can go fuck itself.
There's also the fact that the characters of Deadpool, Angel (Warren Worthington III), and Emma Frost are all represented at vastly different ages across the two timelines. If you remove Origins, you remove the Deadpool & Emma Frost conundrum, but you're still stuck with explaining Angel being a teenager in both 1983 and 2006 or so. I would think it could be two different Angels (in addition to the unrelated female Angel from First Class), if not for the fact that both were named Warren Worthington III.
Just like with Star Wars! A New Hope = We defeated the Empire, awesome! Empire Strikes Back = No, you did not Return of the Jedi = We defeated the Empire, it is over! Force Awakens (30 years later) = No, it was never over Last Jedi = WAT?
I love red letter media, but this is beautiful. A marvelous blend of satire, explanation and illustration of points through satire. I'm basically as hard as I can get.
RVL480 Van "It's like cinematic calculus!" If the person teaching you has never taken a calculus course in their life, and who was taught by a drunk mute wearing a bandana over their face.
Jeikobu Kooruman: Yeah. Calling this shit cinematic calculus is rather insulting to calculus. At least calculus will begin to make sense after a while.
Calculus has a set of clearly defined rules used to solve problems. Terminator Genisys has a set of vaguely undefined rules used to send this movie into the garbage bin along with your mind once you finish the movie.
I don't think she was given an age in the original movie. They just made that age up in later movies. FWIW, Linda Hamilton was 28 in 1984. And Emilia Clarke is 29 now.
Are we sure at this point that RLM is real and isn’t just some trickster machine elves messing with time and space for entertainment in their eternal existence?
I’ve watched this no lie probably 20 plus time and will watch it 20 more times I bet it’s absolutely amazing right next too the darth vader suit explained video
Same here… went back today after quite awhile and was shocked to see this video is 8 years old. I still Love RLM but I wish they did more stuff like this these days
Jonas Bjerregaard It really wasn't hard to follow, it is actually pretty straightforward. They just left some critical information out and some parts of the movie made little sense.
I have gotten to the point where I'm looking up plots of these "new" soft reboots films because I have the excuse to NOT see it. Fury Road was the exception, which to me is a masterpiece. Force Awakens even tricked me because it essentially is a remake with different characters. The roles of the characters are the same. Rey is Luke. Poe is Han. Kylo Ren is Darth Vader, Han is The obiwan. Luke is Yoda. The only character that's arc is somewhat original but abandoned is Finn.
Do you know what's really stupid about the 'Terminator' sequels? In the first movie, they establish that Time can't be changed. Every thing that happened still happens. If Kyle Reese didn't go back in time, John Connor wouldn't have even existed so Kyle Reese going back in time didn't change anything at all. He always goes back in time and always knocks up Sarah Connor so nothing changes. The sequels go against that by having things change when people and Terminators go back in time, which makes no sense and makes bad movies even worse because they're really stupid.
Harry BuddhaPalm No! Kyle says he comes from one possible future. There are events that always have to happen, Kyle Reese going back in time, John being born, Judgement Day. Anything else can change.
shinmusashi44 Not really. Logically, everything has to play out pretty much exactly the same way every time. On a broad scale, the humans would need to be on the verge of defeating Skynet at very nearly the same time just to have the Terminator and Reese sent back in the first place. And that's just one big thing. There would also be a billion little things that would need to happen to set events in motion. A lost soldier here could imperil another mission there could cause the loss of an important human settlement, etc., etc., etc. Or more simply, look up the butterfly affect. Now, there could be parallel universes where changing a thing creates an all new timeline, but that's a whole other can of worms.
How do robots miss. Bullet speed and trajectory isn't that hard to calculate. So a specialised killing machine that misses, is dumb. God damn the first two movies are so good.
With just two guys and a whiteboard, I have laughed harder than I ever have with most comedians and reviewers online. This is why I love RedLetterMedia.
Um... I don't know if I exactly remember, but didn't Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) explained, while being interrogated by the police, that you can only jump back in time. Like, because the future does not exist yet? If so, then how could they jump from 1984 to 2017?
Because they were in the present of the past, that future had already happened, so it was the past of the future, which you CAN travel to, whether you are in the present, the future, or the past. The only future you cant travel to, is the future of the present. Which at this point in the movies is way in the future. Tracking? Also.. because money.
OMG.. Yet a vague perdition of the current film about John Conner being replaced by a female. It's not 100% accurate (because it's not Sarah's daughter and not 1984) but accurate enough to take notice. 10:57
I love Jay’s discount Marty Mcfly outfit. It’s a reference to a series of movies that made time travel make sense (For the most part) unlike the Terminator franchise which is a massive clusterfuck Don’t worry Mike and Jay, I understand you guys
FINALLY!!!!!....I finally got it!!!!.....It all makes sense now.....!!!!!!!!!! The writers were just idiots with no understanding of the concept of time travel whatsoever!!!
"...And they failed every single time. For being called Terminators they are not very good for Terminating people". I was thinking the exact same thing. Hahahahaha
