Sorry, just because we don't know what happened in the gaps in the fossil record, doesn't mean I'm willing to assume you have the evidence of the nucleotides in any given prior fossilised species and how they code for the relevant proteins in that prior species on the one hand, and the nucleotides in a supposed descendant species, including how they code for its proteins. Because it's common ground that you don't have that evidence, because it doesn't exist. So it's common ground that the dominant neo-Darwinian paradigm has failed to explain the origin of even a single species. And Meyer is not making a God of the Gaps argument. Darwin proceeded on the basis that, on the state of knowledge as it then was, it was as vain to speculate about the origin of life, as it was about the origin of matter. "Darwin's theory is not wrong" Prove it. It is common ground that science has not proved the origin of even a single species by the theorised mode, namely, natural selection of random mutations. You can't show the evolution of the relevant nucleotides from the alleged prior species to the alleged descendant species, including how they code for all the relevant proteins. Because the evidence doesn't exist. So the neo-Darwinian theory doesn't just not explain the whole process, there is a fundamental fail in the very centre of it, namely, that the *rate* at which the relevant reactions take place, is *nowhere near* enough to explain the processes in question. Lotta lotta universes end-to-end would still not be enough time. All the neo-Darwinists have is assuming what is in issue.
