This has been an extremely stressful year. But no matter how stressful things are Faith is all we need. I lost my job as a social worker for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. I’m a single mother. I have been struggling providing for my two children both are autistic so things tend to be more challenging in my home. I feel so alone but God has carried me through. I’m so thankful God will provide for me. Thank you Heavenly Father. Faith is all we need.

Oh my gosh! I was so so happy when this popped up in my suggestions! Dr. McDowell, you and Stephen Meyer are two of my favorite thinkers on this most essential subject, I have probably watched all the content you have both put out, and it’s prompted me to delve deeper into physics, biology, theology, and so much more. You are both a big part of God’s plan, and thank you for answering the call in spite of all the vitriol against even having these dialogues. I admire and am so grateful for your fortitude. ❤️👍❤️

Dr. McDowell, thank you SO much for holding this interview. I can’t think of a better time for you to share this! I am a senior in university getting my degree in biology and I’m currently preparing to take my final exam for my Evolutionary biology course. I’m a Christian but being surrounded by materialist teachers throughout my college career has certainly made me question the genesis story. I’ve been in turmoil the last few weeks as I get ready for my evolutionary biology exam and have been doing research left and right to try and understand how on earth genesis could mix with evolution. I had so many questions, specifically related to human evolution and our current fossil records. This interview really helped ease my mind and heart. The discussion was so clear and concise and exactly what I needed to hear. God’s timing is amazing. Thank you again.

@@hhstark8663 That's not valid or rational answer. The question was has she read the criticism of these apologist's views. The apologist's views may be contradicted ALSO by her secular education on scientific claims, but that wasn't my question, but challenging the veracity of the apologist's views in the same way the scientific view was ostensibly vetted by all manner of critique (peer review, etc) before it was allowed to be taught. Critique, as we've discussed in our other interactions, tends to be seen as heresy or dismissed out of hand if it doesn't follow a particular dogmatic interpretation or apologism that itself may be an invalid premise. So your response seems to beg a few presumptions. And so: - by what argument do you suggest you can speak for what she's read regarding the vetting of the apologist? - what would you infer rises to the level of vetted critique? - your response implies your own set of biases when you say "materialists" (not really explaining how that critiques Craig), and presuming that would be the only rational critique, mostly likely because you feel he/you've addressed that line of critique. There may be issues of credibility, expertise, philosophical failure, etc in Craig's arguments. I don't mind if she reads biased viewpoints that facilitate confirmation bias as long as she does her due diligence and vets the critique for veracity as well. You'll have to do better than that, and I think read more carefully next time. I know you and your cabal want to engage with me, which I welcome, as I think exposing your irrationality (ie critiquing YOU) is worthy of those seeing this back and forth as it pertains to claims of rational behavior and truth.

I'm looking forward to exploring Dr Meyer's position on the precision and clarity of God's Word, particularly the opening Chapters of Genesis. No doubt this interview with Dr Sean McDowell will help. As an aside, let it be said that I was greatly blessed by Sean's Dad Josh McDowell in the 1970s, through his amazing book 'Evidence That Demands a Verdict'. That book was an incredible resource for my University studies at that time, as well as a very comprehensive encouragement in faith (in following The Written Word and Living Word)! I recall writing to Josh to thank him for ‘Evidence’, and even went to the Uni library to check out some of Josh's source references in back of the book. Now in more recent times, I see that 'Evidence That Demands a Verdict' has been re-released under the authorship of Josh and Sean McDowell (or vice versa). That will be quite the read. I must investigate the internet to see if Josh and Sean discuss their joint effort. Thank you Sean and Josh. Thank you Sean and Stephen for this RU-vid presentation. John B, Brisbane, Australia.

Here's all the proof I need. Before I invited Christ's spirit to live in me in exchange for my 'Adamic' spirit we're all born into, I couldn't get enough of sin, now sin is repulsive to me - even in my 'backsliden' states (now getting much less frequent). Since Christ's spirit is now permanently living in me, sin makes me sick and all I want constantly is to please God and avoid sin - that's my NEW desire which has to be a supernatural event.

I read your dad's books back in the day and just love reading and listening to Stephen Meyer's books and videos. Actually, I am contemplating a Master degree opportunity at 60 in Philosophy of Science or Religion, after completing an After Degree in RELS & PHIL. after my Sec. French Education degree at the University of Calgary, Alberta, with the only Christian professor at last after all those years, after standing up for God in atheists' classes, where believers should be non-existent in society. As a high school teacher, I see many needs, where teens are addicted to technology, do not know where they are heading in life or spiritually, and have not higher purpose in life. Does Biola offer any online Master degree program online outside of work and geography and family settlements? Any bursaries or grants? For sure, studying under Stephen Meyers would be awesome. I have been watching his videos and read 2/3 or his 550 book on "The Return of the God Hypothesis", which I left at the youth hostel in Bucerias, Mx, which I summarized on Power Point in French / Englsih & Spanish. By the way, my ex, who was a communist engineer from Mexico in the '80s whose young brother and friend died, was convinced by "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" and "More Than a Carpenter".

*Sean and Stephen are NOT making an argument from ignorance.* I understand why you might think that at first, but it is NOT argument from ignorance. This is an example of an argument from ignorance: Let´s say we have effect X and has strong reason to think that cause Y cannot product that effect. If I immediately then infer that cause Z did it *without* offering any positive evidence that cause Z can produce effect X, then that would be an argument from ignorance. This is NOT what we are doing when we are making an *evidential* case for theism. We have an effect, such as digital information or specified complexity, that we know from *our uniform and repeated* experience arises from a mind. We have *independent* knowledge that concious activity does produce this effect and we have reasons think that it *has a higher epistemic probability* of producing this particular kind of effect. And we also have good reasons for thinking that various materialistic (atheistic) explanations have a *lower* epistemic probability of producing that effect. Since we have reasons for thinking that conciousness have a *higher* epistemic probability of producing that effect, then we can infer with confidence back to that type of cause as an explanation as it is more probable. This is what is known as an inference to the best explanation. It is NOT an argument from ignorance, since we are offering a *positive warrant* for the *higher* probability of that causal explanation. The other problem with the argument from ignorance-objection, is that it results in circular reasoning. You have to *presuppose* materialism is true in order to make that objection, which results in circular reasoning - if you are going to apply it each and every time a theistic explanation is made.
@desnock
@desnock 2 года назад
*They (and you) are indeed making an argument from ignorance* If someone claims X, one must provide evidence for X. Further, if someone claims X, one must vet such claim with all manner of vetting, called the scientific method. These claims MAY have offered questionable, biased perspectives as a ostensibly rational argument, but by no means does it make it "non-ignorant". When one ignores substantive disproving of premises or positions, this is where science and faith diverge and while one can believe what they want, they can believe the opposite of what they want too. There is no rational standard or verifiability of belief. There is no evidential case for theism, which is all based on belief. As a rational perspective ALL (atheist and believer) are fundamentally agnostic. And can only ever be agnostic. Even if there were SOME argument, it wouldn't argue for a specific mythology that was lifted from other mythologies in the Jungian perspective of the collective unconscious as it regards symbols common across all of time and "faiths". You have no uniform NOR repeated experiences that are verifiable, but are claims and those claims are not valid because they are biased. You have no independent knowledge that conscious activity (in this context belief) produces ANY required effect (required if you want to prove causality via metaphysic means). You even argue that your position is an inference, based on non-verifiable sources, so your own support for your premise argues the invalidity of the premise. Thus what it would be called would be "a crackpot belief" (apologies if the term isn't nice, should I have used "tin foil" or "a liar's approach"?), and certainly in no way inferring "the best explanation" and in no way the best explanation when all the premises are rebutted to be similarly hairbrained. Even if you disproved all other (and almost all better arguments based in science and reason) false, it still wouldn't add any validity to another claim, the claim has to survive on its own merits to be considered "the best". If it doesn't it's just another theory/belief on the pile that isn't vetted. It is SPECIFICALLY an argument defending ignorance/belief in contradiction to reason or the scientific method and yours is specifically an example of the circular reasoning that any belief (sans rational support) may rely on.
@desnock
@desnock 2 года назад
I apologize that we keep running into each other. I appreciate Sean's POV and advocating his set of beliefs, but your apologism does him no credit, as it is full of illogic masquerading as reason. You've made several demonstrably untrue claims and I continue to deconstruct your faux-logic with corrective measures. Not sure what we're going to do here, you've commented enough with ignorance to me that I feel it's my duty to expose your lunatic illogic with sweet reason. Christianity does itself no favors by ridiculous absurdity masquerading as logic to folks who just don't have the critical thinking skills or formal education to easily dismiss your foolishness (and at this point I'm sorry, that's all I can call it when you argue against the existence of slavery in the bible, when you suggest that the mythologies weren't lifted from other faith traditions throughout history, and when you try to put the patina of scientific viability to your eminently illogical arguments).

@PhillipLWilcher
@PhillipLWilcher 10 месяцев назад
In the beginning there was a vibration, and this vibration had such energy to it, that through it all things were formed and would be found. Much akin to an idea or an opinion that occurs suddenly in the mind without thinking, yet corresponding to some distinct entity essential in feature to what it was, this vibration went by a name. Its name was Thought and Love was its only way of thinking. And such was Love's thinking within Thought, that it had all the strength and vitality that was needed to sustain to the fullest degree, every physical and mental activity required to make things whole, yet not entirely holy save but one much needed thing. Although Thought asked of Love to lend to it its voice, Love at first said nothing but waited, because that is what Love does; it waits. Thought could see that Love was thinking, and it seemed to Thought that perhaps Love knew not quite what to say. And as Time passed by as it invariably does, Thought began to wonder why if Love was everything of meaning, it had no meaning to answer. Looking again to Love as Love thought not to look elsewhere, there was still nothing there, just as there is nothing more serenely still than Love as Peace it lends us, a thought our thinking has yet to truly know. Therefore, and as was Thought’s wont, it began to think again: "If Love answers not then it has no needs, as would Reason have it be that neither does Love ask for anything." As Love remained silent, and more silent even still, Thought looked about the seemingly empty space within which it had found itself vibrating, and where for Love as is Love's promise the premise of Hope (and Hope's premise Love's promise in Life) nothing is ever held not true. At that moment, and for but the briefest period of time beyond Time itself more singular than was any period that went before, Thought became so fully aware of something as fact to understand it clearly and without condition; the most beautiful relationships we can have with each other, they are centred in Love, and with nothing in between that anything is split in two. Once realised, Thought began to accommodate all thinking to this as so should you, and fears no longer entered the mind of man, since it was never part of Love's overall plan.

Since there are believed to be trillions of galaxies in our universe, couldn’t it be that this galaxy hit the jackpot when it came to everything lining up to create life? I guess it doesn’t necessarily negate a creator but when you’re looking at trillions, it’s very possible one could emerge that could support life even without a creator deliberately causing it.

@Starrboy94
@Starrboy94 2 года назад
One key distinction that I want to clarify. You say “trillions of galaxies.” Are you referring to clusters of cosmic bodies within a single UNIVERSE, or trillions of universes? This is the difference addressing the multiverse hypothesis, which Meyer addresses in his book or an entirely different question about life in our universe. I am assuming the latter because you used the word “galaxy,” and not “universe.” 1) Probability is not a cause of anything. Something can have the probability of happening, but unless certain criteria are met prior to some event, that event will never happen. 2) this hypothesis implies that a purely materialistic process can bring about life. This is the argument Meyer addresses in his book. Essentially, origin of life scientists have provided no hypothesis of how life popped into existence given a purely materialistic process. He discusses it here in this interview at the beginning when they review the RNA world hypothesis. 3) When you look at the material “stuff” that is required for life, it is highly improbable that even the basic material requirements for life would be around unless the Universe were finely tuned. That would require further explanations. The multiverse hypothesis doesn’t work, so you have to resort to chance or a theistic God. Obviously, Meyer makes the argument for the latter. Hope this helps.

There not, and never will be any scientific evidence of the Universe & Life having a NATURAL origin over 13.7 or 4 billions years. The Function Category and the associated Theory of Universal Functions ... is what Sir Issac Newton 300 years ago was UNKNOWINGLY proposing with his "watchmaker analogy." But he made a huge error focusing on "design" of everything rather than "everything are functions." The Universe & everything in & of it ... are FUNCTIONS. This should have been Newton's hypothesis. And to confirm it as a scientific theory ( of Universal Functions) you simply need to fully define the FUNCTION category using data from known Functions, to identify anything that is a Function. Newton & his peers would have quickly defined the Category and confirmed the Theory of Universal Functions. All functions have a purpose or task, are abstract or concrete, PROCESS inputs into outputs, and require information in order to exist & to function. All functions are UNNATURALLY made by an intelligence & made to function. A machine is a physical function that requires specific matter, energy, space, time & information in order to exist and to function. Nature & natural processes over any period of time can NEVER make a simple mechanical machine like a wheel, hammer, nail, screw,driver, lever ... nor make it function. The three accepted machines are mechanical, electrical and ... molecular(life). Hmmmm? But a machine can also be a mathematical expression, algorithm, or computer code. Man can UNNATURALLY make a machine that makes a machine. But the Human body is a machine composed entirely of machines(functions). No. There are no odds that you will get a function naturally. It's never going to happen. This is why this is not, and never will be an scientific evidence PROVING the Universe & all life have a natural origin billions of years ago. This is simply a religion that worships an idea of the this existence. The Theory of Universal Functions ... would have made Sir Issac Newton the greatest scientist and mathematician of all time, and made the Theory of Evolution are joke. You do realize Darwin knew the fossil record had no evidence of transition forms or precursors for Evolution, show no signs of gradual changes over long periods of time but explosion of complex life at the various layers? He said that we would eventually find the evidence. No we haven't. We are now getting the same types of fossils for every layer. A finch with a small beak or large ... is still just a finch. Natural selection through mutations simply causes variation with a species or genus. It doe provide the specific information, matter, energy & space for a new genus. The evolution of all life from a common ancestor over 4 billions years is taught as a fact of science ... with zero evidence ... and likewise Abiogenesis and a 13.7 billion old Universe. Yeah. I kinda take issue with Dr Craig’s new take on the historical Adam. It’s strange, even in all its prowess. So, I agree with Dr Myers here. It isn’t necessary to inculcate people into accepting theistic evolution as some hug-in-a-circle way to appease the atheist. If an atheist isn’t following what’s happening in these discoveries by way of rejection, then it is fair to ask the atheist: is the alternative for God full of wisdom or confusion? I gander an issue for effectively answering this because the atheist has no true concept of “wisdom” (amongst many other immaterial concepts). It isn’t a secular word. So, you are left with an emotional credence that inwardly spells out, “I don’t like God”. Because, “God doesn’t exists” just doesn’t work anymore.

Stephen Meyer builds on theories laid out before his time but now is the time he can say for sure, mathematically, mainstream science hasn't got it right at all. I take the approach that in the future we (humans) will be able to do all that's in the Bible, 1000 years? 500 years? in geological time that's nothing. So now we have evidence that creation is possible, it's not too far a stretch to think this has happened before, I also think about how VR is progressing and how one day humans will have a way to back up their consciousness every second just in case the worse happens, I'm sure Heaven is the same thing. I think the idea of a God is far more feasible just because humans are going in that direction, being able to download a consciousness would make future time irrelevant and allow humans to master the universe and perhaps make one of their own.

For me the toughest question about God is one that has been asked for millennia. It is not new. But I will frame it differently: "Why is God obsessed with observing suffering? "We know as humans we find human suffering "entertaining" and fun to watch. (From Westerns to crime drama). We understand that this is a defect in our personalities. Because we are "made in the image of God" we recognize the possibility that the innate desire to find suffering "entertaining" comes from God. After all, he is a part of us and we are a part of him. Should we not expect more from God than a base desire to be "entertained" by suffering? I have never heard or been aware of this "defect" of God being openly discussed. I think it is time for theologians to deal with this issue. Could God have a personality defect? Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

I think you are using the problem of evil to claim that God enjoys human suffering. A few quick responses to the problem of evil: People are sinful and make free choices that cause others to suffer (which is not what God wishes). Sometimes God permits suffering (as opposed to causing suffering) to make us stronger and bring us closer to Him. Finally, the Bible is pretty clear that God does not want humans to suffer because of His plan of redemption through Christ's death and resurrection. Of course, one can go significantly more in depth with the problem of evil and God's character, but that's my two cents.
@MrDreadEnd
@MrDreadEnd 2 года назад
I think people read too much of human personality into God. Humans often can find entertainment adjacent to suffering so when we see how much suffering is present in humans, God's proposed creation, we assume he loves it. The bible does not make this claim about God and I would argue that it doesn't even imply it. While we live in a very entertainment driven pursuit of happiness society, this is not the only drive for creation and existence. God saw humanity in it's earliest state as good, prior to any recorded suffering. The presence of sin, which can be thought of as the absence of God, is not a product of God's desire. I bring up sin because as far as Iknow it is the accepted point at which suffering was introduced to the world. Despite the absence of God being introduced something near antithetical to God in a sense we still have God offer a path to redemption via Christ and suffering.

27:00 thru 28:55 One can actually spot the Creator's hand print and Godhead upon the very make up of the universe, God is 1 yet 3, and when you study the creation you will notice a certain theme, a repeating pattern that points back to him. You will notice multiple trinities imprinted upon the cosmos. The universe itself is one physical creation, yet it consists of 3 distinct aspects which are Time, Space, and Matter. Time consists of 3 periods: past, present, future. Space has 3 dimensions: length, width and depth. [Time is referred to as the 4th dimension, but it's not a spatial dimension] Matter has 3 common states in Earth: solid, liquid, gas. [I'm aware of plasma, but it's not "common" on Earth] Even our own body's make up consists of 3 states: solid, liquid, gas. Earth is the 3rd planet from our one sun, that's fixed just the right orbiting distance from it to allow life on earth to occur and flourish. Our 1 bright sun produces 3 main types of UV rays: UVA, UVB, UVC. You see, there's a theme, a pattern of 1 yet 3, 3 yet 1, just like the Godhead/Trinity. God is one, and he revealed himself to his creation through 3 distinct persons/manifestation of himself. 1 John 5:7 KJV For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. The archaic meaning of the word Ghost means both spirit or breath, So the Father, his Word, and his Breath of life, and these 3 are one in the same being who share the same intelligent mind, hence the Godhead. It's quite simple really, when the Father speaks his Word goes forth and declares and creates all things by the power of the Holy Spirit who is the breath of Life. And the reason we call them persons, is because God refers to each member of the Godhead as a "he", as a person. By the way, did you ever noticed that you can actually spot each member of the Godhead in the first 3 verses of Genesis chapter 1, there's that 1 yet 3 theme again. Genesis 1:1-3 KJV 1In the beginning "God"-[the Word] created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the "Spirit of God"-[Holy Ghost] moved upon the face of the waters. 3And "God"-[the Father] said, Let there be light: and there was light. Quick note: on verse 3, there was no sun created yet but when the Father spoke and his Word went forth. Bang, suddenly there's was light upon the darkness that covered the world. That light came from the Word of God, the Lord Jesus who is the light of the world, the dayspring, and he's also referred to as the brightness of the Father's glory [Hebrews 1:1-3] John 1:5&14 KJV 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with "God"-[the Father], and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with "God"-[the Father]. 3All things were made by "him"-[the Word]; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Luke 1:78 NKJV Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; John 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Depending on the context in which it is spoken in Jesus Christ the Word of God, is both metaphorically and literally the light of the world, the bright and morning star. Romans 1:20 NKJV 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that "they"-[unbelievers] are without excuse,

If people are going to choose a religion, it should be the religion that has the _most_ amount of evidence. Only one religion can (realistically) have the highest amount of evidence. _______________________________ *This is why these religions have a lower amount of evidence:* - Islam is rejected because (1) the qurannic dilemma, which causes the Quran to be self-defeating, and (2) the Quran claims Jesus did NOT die on the cross (which is false) and the Quran was written hundreds of years after the death of Jesus. - Polytheism in general is false, because (1) their gods are _internal_ of time and place which lack explanatory power due to natural science and (2) as pantheists they posit that the universe does not have a singular beginning and goes through a regenerative mechanism (which is NOT in alignment with the empirical findings from the 20th century) and (3) their writings are legendary, which means they were written more than one century after the alleged events transpired. - Mormonism is false, because (1) they only have one eyewitness for their golden plates, namely Joseph Smith himself, and (2) all other eyewitnesses recanted and (3) Smith acquired money, sex and power as a consequence of spreading his message, which gives credence to it being a conspiracy theory. - Jehovas witnesses is false, because the trinity can be deducible from _their own_ translation. - Buddhism is false because, if true, it would result in an infinite regress, which is NOT logically resolved under the buddhistic framework. - Rabbinical judaism is false, because of the messianic prophecy in the Old Testament. ______________________________ *This is why Christianity has the most amount of evidence:* 1. The resurrection-hypothesis appears to be the only hypothesis that can account for all the facts that the *majority* of *non-religious* scholars *affirm* . The attempted alternative naturalistic explanations are not valid. It was NOT a hallucination, since hallucinations cannot be in groups. Optical illusions can be in groups, but not hallucinations. (For more information, see the book _"The case for the resurrection of Jesus"_ by the former agnostic historians Gary Habermas and Mike Licona.) 2. God is _external_ of time and place, which is in alignment with modern cosmology. 3. The textual evidence that exists is from the 1st century; the *same* century as the events transpired. Thus, it´s NOT legendary. According to the *atheist* scholars Maurice Casey and James Crossley, Gospel of Mark was written in around 40 AD. 4. Does not result in an infinite regress. 5. Fulfills the messianic prophecy in the Old Testament. 6. This is not evidence per say, but an observation that Christianity is the only religion where (1) god became incarnate and (2) the only religion where you do NOT have to do any works to achieve salvation and (3) is the only religion in which its founder claimed to be divine (others only say prophets or similar). 7. Claims that universe has a _singular_ beginning, which is in alignment with modern cosmology as evident by the findings of the 20th century. 8. The characteristics of a conspiracy theory (money, sex and power) do NOT apply to the apostles, since they died poor and got tortured and never recanted. They had no reason to lie. We know at the very least James, Peter, John and Paul were historically martyred. 9. More than one claims to have been eyewitneses of the resurrection while never recanting, namely James, Peter etc. Additionally, the eyewitnesses were (former) skeptics and deniers. They had a predisposition *against* Jesus due to peer pressure and persecution from the jewish community. There were many fake messiahs whose movements ended with they got cruified. Jesus´ messiaha movement is the *only* movement which continued after his death with claims of post-mortem experiences. 10. The gospels include embarrassing accounts of the apostles that puts them in bad light (e.g. they were cowards and deniers), which heighten the sincerity of the authors of the gospel (since if the narrative would have been a later construction, you would have removed those embarrassing passages - but they are kept in, indicating a degree of sincerity and transparency). Note: The aim was to show that Christianity has the highest epistemic probability among the religions - which the case successfully does illustrate. Note: Criterion of embarassment is used _outside_ New Testament studies. Criterion of embarassment is also used in for example "Teaching of Merikare", an ancient egyptian pharao who claims that is father Meryibre admitted defeat (which is an embarassing thing during that time), by historian James Hoffmeier in order to argue for the legitemacy of Meryibre. The criterion is also used in literature about Confucius and assyrian literature.

My new understandings of what many call 'God' - resulting from my NDE... Below is a piece from my new eye-opening, thought-provoking and enlightening autobiography titled: Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within... (Amazon Books) Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave. The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist. For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment. The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing. The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists. Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’. On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication. For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything. NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us. For more about Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo please read Tina Turner's new book: Happiness Becomes You. Or Google 'Let go, and let God' by Olivia Newton.

May the Creator shed more light on what you both do. Is there such a thing as spiritual gravity? Something surprising me about Gravity. Natural gravity pulls down, but divine gravity pulls up. Our Lord Jesus Christ said. I draw people up. It is the complete opposite of natural gravity. This means that natural gravity is the law, but divinity is above the law. The first and foremost is the natural gravity that puts man to sleep. Man on earth sinks down every hour in the force of gravity. This force of gravity then bends a person and causes him to hold a cane. Eventually, this gravitational forces put man to sleep in the dust. So to break this gravitational force that has bound this human life. A superhuman lake is needed to break that has bound man to death. The bible say. "Many are the priests, because death has taken them away; Hebrews 7:23 What does this mean? Gravity holds people back from living forever. So when Jesus Christ went into the tomb, He did two things. The first thing he did was to break the gravity itself. The second thing he did was to break the gravitational force that left people in the ground. It was when man disobeyed God's divine law that the Creator cursed him and his descendants with death, disease, and fall. It was this divine law that the Creator gave to man. "The day you eat the fruit, you will die." Gensis 2:17 What this means is that man is bound by gravitational force, Because gravity is the law. When a person violates the law of the Creator, the law of gravity catches him in death, fall, and disease. Man dies and falls to the ground because man is cursed by the law of the Creator. That is why all the descendants of Adam will return to the dust at death. But since Christ Jesus is the Creator, the Lawgiver, the law of gravity, has no power over him. Therefore, Christ Jesus destroyed the power of death and rose from the grave in a glorious resurrection. But is it not Christ alone who is raised from the dead by the resurrection power? All his descendants are resurrected. Of course now, Anyone who believes in Christ will not be resurrected. But when Christ returns in glory, those who believe in Christ and die in the flesh Because of his seed, they will be resurrected and They will live forever in happiness with their Beloved Creator God. Just as Adam's descendants died in the flesh, so Christ's descendants will live again. Amen.

Sir Issac Newton should have focused on the hypothesis that "The Universe & everything that is of it, are.... Functions. Newton's "Watchmaker Analogy" should have been the scientific Theory of Universal Functions, and he & his peers would have quickly completely defined the FUNCTION category with will identify anything in this Universe that is a Function ... and therefore must have an UNNATURAL origin by an intelligence that must provide the information for any Function to exist & to function. All Functions have a purpose, role or task, can be abstract or concrete, processes inputs into outputs, require specific matter, energy, space & time, AND information in order to exist & to funciton. There is zero evidence that a star or planet have a natural origin Nature can never make & operate a simple physical function like a wheel, lever, hammer, nail. All Functions .... are UNNATURALLY made & operated .... by an intelligence to impart a purpose, role or task and to process inputs into outputs. Man can UNNATURALLY make a machine that makes a machine. But the Human Body is a machine composed entirely of abstract & concrete Functions. Energy, matter, space & time are Functions The Laws of Physics are Functions. Time's purpose is is to enable space, energy & matter to exist & to function, and can be used to measure existence which is why time only goes forward, and will change if there are changes to the space, energy & matter that time is processing. Everything in this Universe makes complete sense ... with the Theory of Universal Functions. The Universe is a physical Function composed complete of abstract & concrete funcitons. The Universe is a CLOSED SYSTEM with finite matter & energy and fixed laws of physics ... that is expanding .... in an OPEN SYSTEM with its own laws & its own intelligence. All Functions are UNNATURALLY made & made to function by an intelligence. Genesis simply identifies the UNNATURAL maker of the Universe is God, and that he made the Universe over 6 days in an infinite(Open) space that did not have the laws of physics. The Universe itself was made over 4 days beginning on day 1 as a bright star that immediately provided light. The Close System that is the Universe today, began after Adam & Eve sinned, whereby God closed off the Universe from the OPEN SYSTEM that it was created in, and fixed the amount of energy & matter & the Laws of Physics. All the starlight is real time ... because the Universe was COMPLETED on day 4 of creation, in the infinite space where there is no laws of physics & speed of light. Enough with the ID argument. Again. Sir Issac Newton ... should have been proposing the Theory of Universal Functions, not the Universe is analogous to a Watch. There is not, and never will be, any scientific evidence PROVING Abiogenesi 4 billion or a singularity 13.7 billion years ago because the Universe & all Life are FUNCTIONS.

Not a Christian god but a Hebrew god , the concept of a one Devine cosmic creator comes from the Old Testament not the new , the Hebrew Bible is the first true monotheistic belief system,traditionally considered to be the manual for life. Both Christianity and Islam are the branches of the Jewish faith and fundamentally base their faith on the Hebrew Bible. That Devine god in the Hebrew Bible is called the god of Abraham, and that god is formless and endless which in Hebrew is called (עין סוף) beyond time and space which is the original source of all forces exist in the universe.

Evolutionists often point to religion as the main source behind the causes of human suffering, global injustice, genocide, social injustice, wars, and mankinds general inhumanity to man. What do you think? Yes religion is culpable to some extent. But is all religion bad? Are there other forces at work besides religion? What about Darwin's ideas? Let's consider- The Origin of Species offered a fresh outlook on human behavior. Why does one nation succeed in conquering another nation? Why does one race prevail over another race? The Origin of Species, with its emphasis on natural selection and survival of the fittest, gave explanations that stirred the leading philosophers of the 19th century. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) and Karl Marx (1818-1883) were philosophers who had a profound effect on politics. Both were fascinated by evolution. “Darwin’s book is important,” said Marx, “and serves me as a natural scientific basis for the class struggle in history.” Historian Will Durant called Nietzsche a “child of Darwin.” The book Philosophy-An Outline-History summarized one of Nietzsche’s beliefs: “The strong, brave, domineering, proud, fit best the society that is to be.” Darwin believed-and wrote in a letter to a friend-that in the future “an endless number of the lower races will have been eliminated by the higher civilized races throughout the world.” He used as a precedent the European conquest of others and chalked this up to “the struggle for existence.” The powerful were quick to latch on to such statements. H. G. Wells wrote in The Outline of History: “Prevalent peoples at the close of the nineteenth century believed that they prevailed by virtue of the Struggle for Existence, in which the strong and cunning get the better of the weak and confiding. And they believed further that they had to be strong, energetic, ruthless, ‘practical,’ egotistical.” Thus, “survival of the fittest” took on philosophical, social, and political overtones, often to an absurd extent. “To some war became ‘a biological necessity,’” said the book Milestones of History. And this book noted that during the next century, “Darwinian ideas formed an integral part of Hitler’s doctrine of racial superiority.” Of course, neither Darwin, Marx, nor Nietzsche lived to see how their ideas would be applied-or misapplied. Indeed, they expected that the struggle for existence would improve man’s lot in life. Darwin wrote in The Origin of Species that “all corporeal and mental endowments will tend to progress towards perfection.” Twentieth-century priest and biologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin agreed with this, theorizing that eventually there would occur an ‘evolution of the minds of the entire human race; everyone would harmoniously work toward one goal.’

The problem with this format is the total lack of critical questions. Sean Caroll would make minced meat out of Meyers description of the multiverse.

What a silly argument you both present. There is no need to posit fine tuning. We evolved as we are because the universe is what it is. If it were significantly different we would not be here. You believe in a God as many do but the physical relationships between the universe and life are not evidence of a God.

That’s a silly rebuttal that the universe “is what it is” haha. Maybe you don’t care about rational arguments. I assume you are one that gives answers like “evolution” or “quantum physics” as proof for your position.

There was a car wrapped around this tree 25 yards off the road. It was the only tree in the area with a car wrapped around it. But that's not particularly significant really. It is what it is. You probably believe someone drove the car into it at some point in the past but I don't see any evidence that supports that theory. What a silly argument.

Why study anything at all? It's all as it is. If you can't understand the significance of fine tuning, then maybe don't respond to it, because you are who you are.

@@andrewoverholser491 Change "is what it is" to "is necessary". You claim your Christian God, your particular version of your Christian God, is necessary. You just add an extra variable.

@@ubersheizer5398God exists necessarily because something doesn’t come from nothing. Don’t need to add anything I just don’t take away from that truth. And it’s not my version. If God exists he necessarily is most consistent with the God of Israel and by extension the Christian God.

Short answer is no it doesn’t. You can believe it and that’s fine. But if anyone says science proves or points to a God or Gods then they need to really be able to back that up.

Stephen Meyer's post-PhD work includes zero academic articles. He is as qualified as a high school student to talk about biology.

The anonymous book of Mark, which was the 1st Gospel, was written long after PAUL'S authentic 7 epistles AND utilized Paul to fabricate a worldly ministry of Jusus... Paul did NOT show an earthly ministry, nor mention a single parable, etc. In fact, Paul stated BLATANTLY that he received his Gospel from NO man and ONLY from revelation (visions) and scripture (extrapolations and reinterpretations of Old Testament verses). A tad FISHY, eh??? But...I digress... The other 3 gospels utilized Mark... they extrapolated, redacted and embellished/changed Mark to fit their ideas. Jesus's life, as recorded in the Gospels, is 100% fairytale. Period. Allllll myth. I'm NOT an atheist, but this homophobic, sexist, members only mentality found in fundamentalist Christianity is an archaic pile of intellectually stunting, emotionally charged nonsense. So... why should ANYONE take Christianity serious? 🤔
